    The kartarpur corridor was open throughout from the Pakistan side. Only the Indian side reopened their own side. There’s no “signal” here. It was just Covid-related. Nice to see peace here. Sikh yatris deserve access to all their holy shrines.

    Note: imran Kahn is the only politician who struggled for 22 years before being elected as PM in Pakistan.

    Excellent Jyoti. A well summarized state of play. It is all about Punjab and all about faith, that is sacred for the Sikhs. Kartarpur may be in Pakistan but this is a man made border. The hearts and minds of Sikhs identify only with Guru Nanak and land borders become irrelevant!. Good time to normalize relations with Pakistan, especially when Afghanistan too needs India's food and funds!

    Ms. Jyoti - I disagree with your analysis. Pakistan agrees to give transit to Indian wheat because the Taliban requested them to do so. If they do not agree then the Afghan brothers will be really upset and TTP can mess things up in Pakistan. So Pakistan do not want to mess with Afghans and hence they allowed the Indian wheat to transit. Pakistan army never bothered to have peace with India. Having peace with India is never in the best interest of the Pakistan Army. From PM Bajpayee to PM Manmohan to PM Modi, whoever tried to have an "Aman ki Asha", with Pakistanis; always being backstabbed. So "Aman ki Asha" with the Pakistani Army is a Big BS. Constant hostility is the only best Nash equilibrium that Pakistan has achieved. From a Game-theoretic point of view, this actually suits us. The longer they play this game better off we will be. As far as Kartarpur is concerned, they are only collecting the Jizya from the Kafers from Hindustan with rebranded name as Visa fees. Have you seen their foreign reserve? I think they have to. As far as backchannel talk is concerned, there are always back-channel talks. So what so fuss about it. Even in order to send "the wheat" that discussion has to be on the backchannel. Because that is the only channel left open. Hence - sorry Ms. Jyoti. I really disagree with your analysis.

      On Kartarpur issue, its a respectful place for Pakistanis as well. I as a Pakistani also had to pay 'Jizya' to enter.

    • @SourishDas
      @SourishDas 2 роки тому +2

      @@AliImran-kd8mx interesting that you don't know "Aman ki Asha" and "Pakistani backstabbed" Anyway, there are some Indians who are eternally optimistic and believe that the Pakistani Military will accept a peaceful resolution with India. There was a lot of lobbying that happened in New Delhi for peace with Pakistan. Particularly in the 90s. As a result, PM Vajpayee tried a peace accord. That was followed by the Kargil war. Then PM Manmohan Singh tried peace that was followed by the Mumbai attack. Finally, PM Modi tried with PM Nawaz - but ended up with big mess. Of course, Kartarpur is a respectful place for Pakistanis as well. I think historically Jizya is tax on non-muslims (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jizya). Hence Muslim rulers historically imposed this discriminatory tax on non-muslims to show who is the boss. As a Pakistani, you have to pay Jizya means I believe you are not muslims. My understanding as per sharia law Muslims don't have to pay Jizya.

PM IK who used to say that Military and civilian leadership are on the same page is taking a U -Turn when ISI chief was dismissed without his consent and C.O.A.S. It is not print or just any Indian media Channel saying that Pak PM IK is selected leader , Whole World acknowledge and endorse this fact that if one want to get anything done in Pak , they should be contacting military first and many research thesis have been written all around the world on How Pakistan democracy has always been dominated by its army.
      Even recently , when CPEC projects were stalled for few particular reasons (You know why better than me), Chinese diplomats and the owner of companies invested on those projects first talked and sorted things out with Pak military first.
      In the recent riots and clashes with TTP , it was Pak ISI and army that brokered a deal for Pak elected ministers.
      When Shah Mehmood (foreign Minister) offended Saudi by stating to chalk out a separate OIC , it was C.O.A.S Bajwa that went to Riyadh to mend the relations.
      And you say Pakistan PM IK has power because he is an elected leader , but anyone reading these above facts will say he is "Selected " rather than elected.(NO offense intended) .
