The Swamp | biking to my personal frog concerto at dusk | BC Canada

- Canada has no shortage of swamps but this one is my favourite, mainly because it is basically in our backyard (Canada scale). A 30 min bike ride gets me to a very scenic location that fills with magnificent frog concerto at dusk. I've picked up a new hobby of field recording that compliments my lifelong hobbies photography and filmmaking, trying to improve on my sound design, feel free to let me know what tools and techniques you're using to capture the ambient sounds of nature. You can listen to a sample of the frog concerto at the end of the video. I could not find music that I was hoping for, so I ended up making my first musical attempt to somehow fit the vibe I was going for, apologies for that. It offers extra flexibility but eats away at my limited time. If only humans were more efficient and did not have to sleep.

Wild crowd of frogs!🐸
Not as wild as those two yapping froggies watching playoffs :).
Another amazing video my friend. Really awesome production. Joy to watch.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it, it is a joy to play like that for me too.😉

Much appreciated!
excellent tour my sincere congratulations!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really well made, great atmosphere and nice pace. Keep up the good work ! 👍🔥
I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of this hobby of mine. Thanks for stopping by.
@@DMDCineAttic me neither ! I hope to reach your skill level someday, I really like your rendering
what a seamless composition of drone and standard camera shots! Very cinematic! the music and sfx design is amazing especially reading that you've created it yourself - it's impressive! Keep it up! 👍
Thank you, I'm quickly falling into the traps of field recording, such a pleasurable and relaxing experience. So is music making, but boy it takes time and a lot of second guessing at the level I'm in ...
@@DMDCineAttic I hope your efforts will pay off!
Well done, again. Love the slow pace. Perfect music. Variation in perspective is very good and makes it interesting all the way through.😊👍
Thx man, don't know about music, I tried but not happy with it really 😉. How's life at your end, been creating ?
@@DMDCineAttic regarding music, I do believe that it reflected a relevant mood maybe not exactly what you felt, but still really good and far from what I often experience when surfing around. But I think I understand you, finding the absolutely perfect music is really hard, sometimes frustrating, but also a lot of fun. Music can support or ruin a video, an is often the main reason for me to watch, or not.
The other day I commented on a video where I thought the music was spot on, and he was grateful because he had spent a lot of time looking for the right sound.
As for creativity I continue to do what I like, and sometimes others like it as well😉. But you never understand what will work. I posted a video “different shades of Stavanger” which might be my best video in terms of editing. But with the exception of a pro film maker I know, who loved it, it haven’t had many views.
Last project was fun, really long, and rather different. It was a music video for a local, not very known, musician and a friend of mine. One might like the music or not, but I’m pretty satisfied with the video. I used a lot of Sony FX30 and really love to develop those hand held camera skills.
So I guess I can say I’m still very fond of this little hobby😊😊😊
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that I managed to slap something together, it was the first time making music for me so it took some time, I don't have any musical background other then listening to tons of it, hopefully it gets better with practice although I prefer to spend my free time filming/editing. I'll check your work, yes this hobby can be very rewarding and frustrating at times :)
