    Hey Tony!
    Greetings from Dawson County, Montana. Back when I was farming...a great number of years ago, we had a little joke when it was real dry. We'd say we got a 4 inch rain...yeah right...1 drop every 4 inches. I'm really happy you got 4 REAL inches of rain in the past few weeks! Good...NO...GREAT for you guys! I've lived in Eastern Montana my entire life and it never ceases to amaze me how a little bit of rain can make our world so much greener and beautiful. We don't need a lot of rain, just some at the right time and we're off to the races! Thanks for your videos Tony! Take care and be safe.

    Cool to see you and your dad working together many memories to be had and all the updates you have had on the farm this year, like the drill and spray trailer and shock hitch as you have to keep up with the updates nowadays in farming.
    I've been praying harder for you farmers and ranchers and you have been getting the rains and the crops are looking great this year compared to the other couple of years. Looks like nacho is learning alot from you as you are a good teacher to have.

    Shocker hitch’s are made in Arthur North Dakota bob Sagan invented them ! He built race car frames for years before he got into shocker hitch’s

  • @ckg009
    @ckg009 2 роки тому

    Have a Shocker hitch on 5th wheel as well. My experience with it, need to have *active* air. Installed air bags on truck with a compressor and added a line for the Shocker hitch too so I can add or bleed air. Found this significantly improved the performance of the Shocker hitch. To optimize the performance, the amount of air really needs to change, albeit slightly but doing this really made a difference..

    The corn should have responded to that 4" rain. Our dryland corn in NW Texas has had 10/100 and 15/100 since being planted and now at V5. A good rain now would help with the constant 100 degree afternoons. It will be silking around the third week of August.

      @@FastAgMontana Hope you were able to sell much of what will be harvested. I did not sell my dryland feedgrain because it will have to start raining. My dryland wheat made 7 bus per acre. Hundreds of thousand of acres were not harvested here. No sub moisture with 4" in 12 months for the 2023 crop so winter wheat may not get all that cheap. who knows?

    Tony, someone asked when you was seeding the corn how you plan to harvest it didn’t see a answer with 12” row spacing is silage a possibility but you do need ground corn for feed worked on a farm when I was in H.S and helped a neighbor for about 15 years until he went no-till love watching all the different farming from across the U.S. once a farm hand from Ohio god bless you and your family

    • @russell9673
      @russell9673 2 роки тому

      I remember back in my younger days working on my neighbors farm, we had a little bit of silage corn left after filling up the silo. We just used the grain head on the combine to harvest the corn. It was a slow process but it worked. The header had a bat reel on it, not a finger pickup. I think a finger reel would get torn up.
