Fantastic. More Bright Eyes! Seldom seen on reaction vids...
Yeah at least gotta get through Cassadaga which is in my opinion the last great Bright Eyes album
@@erikgilson1687The People’s Key is like the culmination of Conor Oberst’s ideology through the years. An absolute masterpiece. I recommend another listen to post-Cassadaga material
One of the best folk albums of all time!
THANKS
Don't forget Conor Oberst's love for Townes Van Zandt's texts, Like him, he knows how to write and sing sorrow and melancholy in a simple and wonderful way. I've been listening to this album for almost 15 years, and I always come back to it...
Like me did you discover it in 2008? I found that's when a lot of people I've talked to discovered it!
@@knightscroftsquire-muldoon My brother gave me "Lifted or The Story Is The Soul, Keep your eyes to the ground", in 2002, I have never stopped thanking him since!

He's got good taste in music! That is my favorite album, next to "Digital Ash In A Digital Urn"
My new favorite thing is watching reactions to my favorite albums/songs - love seeing the little smile you get when the best parts come out! Happy to have more people recognizing Conor's genius!
Mike Mogis on the pedal steel. A true master
This is nice. Damn. Brings back memories I won’t tell the wife from just before her.
Nala beautiful 💞😘 🐶 , thank you Rory 🤗☺👍💫
Thank you for doing this means a lot🫡. Great reaction
It's enjoyable to hear someone listen to these songs for the first time for an album and sound that have defined my life since i was a teenager. It's like listening to it for the first time watching your facial expressions. Thanks mate.
I listened to this album as a kid and no one "got it" and I felt so alone. It's great to see that I wasn't alone.
This was kind of a double album, the other one releaded on the same day is "Digital Ash In A Digital Urn". Veeeery different and amazing as well. A reaction to that one would be awesome. Cheers from Mexico
I’d listen to poison oak again. This had a stripped down version on it for some reason. The real version has great dynamics that gives me
Chills.
Really like that parallel of what Conor did compared to Dylan with John Wesley Harding
Me waiting for him to hear poison oak: 😭
same ! Though it's odd that poison oak isn't the album version
My favorite thing about bright eyes is on their most joyful sounding songs they are also able to provide the most mournful lyrics.
It makes me happy for some reason.
You should check out some Benjamin Todd (War Inside Me), Sabine McCalla, and even First Aid Kit! I think you’d love the Folk/Blues in these artists!
Also, Poison Oak is about a cousin of Conor’s who unalived herself because she was a trans woman and didn’t feel comfortable coming out. On that note, please be a safe space for your family people. They deserve it and so do you❤
Good to see you enjoyed the album, have yourself a good day!
The good life is on the same record label. Pls do one of their albums. Maybe start with album of the year
“Fever’s and Mirrors” is the first album my roommate back like 2004 or 2005 let me hear. This album you’re reacting to “I’m Wide Away, It’s Morning,” has spent more time as my favorite Bright Eyes album than any other though I go back and forth on which is my favorite.
An album that I keep going back to and has served my dumbass well for 15 years since I first listened to it when I was 17.
If you liked this, you’ll like Southeastern by Jason Isbell
Me too, 2008 was a good year!
Loved every bit, thanks a million. It is great to listen to this album with someone who feels the same about it.Never happened to me. By the way, the Poison Oak versin seems to be a demo, or at least it is not the one i have in the album.
Please do “Arc of Time” live at Roskilde.
Mike Mogis is backening him on guitar. Childhood friend of Conor Oberst who helped him record his first albums and kepts the job till today.
The arctic monkeys song you tried to quote was “view from the afternoon” 👌
Elliott smith?
Thank you please do digital ash in a digital urn
