    • @rebeccajay4375
      @rebeccajay4375 3 роки тому +7

      @Chiara Bolognoni - when working with clear polygel, you want to work it **as little as possible**. Both when applying the polygel to the nail, & when patting/smoothing it out. Overworking is the biggest reason for bubbles, because it adds air.
      I hope this helps & good luck! 🙂🙂

    • @rebeccajay4375
      @rebeccajay4375 3 роки тому +2

      @Chiara Bolognoni- I'm So sorry girl I just saw this! With ANY kind of gel - polygel, builder gel or hard gel - work it as *little* as possible. I mean, so what you have to do - you still have to work it *some*! ALOT of people make the mistake of treating gel products like an acrylic product. But, they're really nothing alike. So, again, love, with ANY kind of gel you're working with, be very gentle, and do your best not to overwork it. everything you can to not treat it like acrylic. As a mistake a lot of people make is treating it like acrylic but it's nothing like it so again good luck let me know if you have any other questions Take care girl!

    Did anyone else blow on their phone screen when she was drilling the cuticles and it was generating so much dust? 😅

      I’m a nail tech and I use both acrylic and gel, depending on client preference and what type of nail I’m doing 🤓☺️ Acrylic and gel are honestly not different in terms of “damage” to the nail. The problem is the technician, not the product (when it comes to high quality acrylic) 😝
      Another huge problem is the *type* of acrylic, and this is where (I believe) SO many of these opinions come from 🤔 until the last 10-15 years, acrylic monomer contained MMA. This is because it was the only product available. In the 80s especially 😝 It’s what gives you a headache when you walk into “chop shop” salons 😂😂 it stinks! *We know now that MMA is the devil* 😭🤦🏼‍♀️ it’s obvious there’s a respiratory issue with it because the fumes are so terrible, but it also causes very bad allergic reactions over time, and worst of all: it is far too strong and is completely inflexible 😭😭 Basically, if you knock it, it takes the nail with it which is what you mentioned 😭😭😭 Product needs to flex with the natural nail, so it’s the extension that takes most of the “hit” and not your nail.
      So that’s the biggest change: *MMA switched to EMA!* (a long time ago actually, so nail techs have no excuse 😂🤦🏼‍♀️) 😃💖 MMA is now illegal in many countries in Europe and the West (pretty sure the USA too but I’m not 100%). EMA is a flexible product, doesn’t have any of the nasty effects of MMA and won’t rip your nail off ☺️ *The problem is, it’s more expensive* 😌 Hence why some bad nail techs will still use it. That’s what causes all the damage that people (understandably!) blame acrylic for - even though it’s the outdated and dangerous MMA that’s causing the issue 😭🤦🏼‍♀️
      I hope that explains it a wee bit more 🤓💖 I’m in Scotland and MMA isn’t legal but no doubt some bad salons still sneak it in 😂😭🤦🏼‍♀️
