On July 31st, we drove over to Graham County North Carolina, to Lake Santeetlah for a kayaking adventure. Lake Santeetlah is largely surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. Lake Santeetlah was created in 1928 when Alcoa dammed the Cheoah River as a means of generating hydroelectric power. The reservoir is surrounded by the Cheoah District of the Nantahala National Forest. Lake Santeetlah is one of most unspoiled lakes you'll find in the North Carolina mountains, and often called one of the most beautiful in the country.

That was a quick fall. I agree the water is a lot softer. LOL. I had a skateboarding incident at 40 mph. Didn't turn out well for me. There's a bridge in Kentucky that looks exactly like that one except the water in Kentucky was a lot slower moving. I love seeing dams. They are very interesting how there made. Cheers Shu!

Lake Santeetlah is an awesome place. I live about 45 minutes from there. Plan on doing a few solo canoeing trips this year.
