LOL loved it and liked it immediately as soon as you said "this bag is by far.........NOT my favorite camera bag". you rarely ever see a reviewer say such thing. hahaha thumbs up!

Brendan, your review of the pack was spot on. I bought the same pack and had mostly the same impressions as you. The bag is built like a tank - and weighs it too. I bought it as a way for me to organize my gear in the back of my Nissan Patrol. I hope you will do some more reviews / commentary in the future.

I bought this bag for a planned trip to Iceland but I didn't take it purely because of the weight. After investing a lot of money on Fuji system purely to save weight over my Canon kit for travel it defeats the object. It will protect your equipment if you drop it from the top of Everest but overkill for most usage.

You make a good point about downsizing your camera system. It doesn't matter much if your bag is super heavy. I find LowePro bags in general to be a lot heavier than they need to be.

Good reviews, looking to get a Camera Rear Backpack for air travel and walking around in a cities and exploring and on a motorized bike/hike and wine tour this Fall 2022, but your right the bag itself is too heavy. Full Frame Camera 24-70 7 16-35 Lens Not even sure about their Photo Active or Photo Sport bags either.

Thanks for the warning! I don't like this type of overengineered packs for my use, but I believe it's targeted at more alpine use where you basically don't want anything outside, possibly with the exception of a tripod and maybe skis or snowboard.

Thank you for your honest opinion. You mention thinks other people do not. 👍

Thanks for the review. After seeing other reviews of the large 450 version and the 350 I was sort of considering. But your mentioning that it weighs essentially 3kg EMPTY and you cannot have a water bottle on the side well that was the end....thanks so I know what not to get. That is just as important as being guided towards what to get.

You’re welcome. It’s a well built bag that looks nice but isn’t particularly functional in terms of hiking/outdoor adventures.

...I thought that bag was perfect, until you pointed out you can't access your drink without taking the bag off!...that's just silly for Lowepro to not think of that. Thanks for the review man.

Jake Anderson Thanks. It’s my biggest gripe. It’s also the reason I’ve been hesitant to try F-Stop Gear and Shimoda bags. I always keep a water bottle on the exterior of my bags.

Thanks. I doubt I’ll do a follow up. LowePro bags leave a lot to be desired, at least for those of us that carry gear long distances.

Thank you for sharing your expertise. I am looking for a camera backpack that can accommodate my 150-600mm lens, for shorter hikes (5-10 miles). Would this be appropriate or can you recommend something else?

I would recommend the MindShift Gear Backlight 26L over this pack. I can fit my 200-500 in there and it is much lighter and more comfortable to carry. My current go-to pack for hiking is an Atlas Adventure pack, it also fits my 200-500. My main gripe is the camera storage area isn't very deep so if you have a larger full-frame body it isn't going to fit. My Z7 fits fine, my D750 fits but its a squeeze.

@@BrendanWiltse I am looking for a new backpack to fit the Sony 200 600mm lens, and luckily I found your channel. Maybe, Mindshift is a better choice. Thank you so much for your honest review.
