The fact it looks like more than it is, is a plus in my book. Nice to see a big box well produced game that isn't that long and complex. Also like the gear stacking mechanism with its kind of delayed reaction triggering of actions-- that's interesting and seems different. Good weight, good theme, I picked it up already, looking forward to getting it to the table soon.
Every time I play this game, I ask myself this question: How does an Agent steal the Eifel Tower … or even better … the Coliseum. (I'll avoid discussing the White House because that won't end well now, will it?) So … do they have a thousand little workers come in one night, pack them up, and store them in … I don't know … a big freighter by the sea? It makes me laugh every time, and I like games that make me laugh. :)
Ever heard of shrink rays? They were very popular back then. I send my gunner to use the shrink ray, reduce the buildings, then she brings the building back to me so i can put it in a glass display in my personal museum. Then i do an evil laugh and wonder what i will do next... This is actually why they have minis for the buildings. They are at their actual 1:1 size!... after shrinkage.
I‘m waiting for this one. I‘ve heard about it a Long time ago, had it as one of my must-plays at Essen 2018. And I liked it a lot. I‘m going to buy it once it comes out in german.
The shifting puzzle is already there. Each player has a different machine. Each machine is strong in a different way. One will be awesome with codexes, another with flexible engineers and so on and so forth. To win, you really have to play to your machine's strength. Some parts are much more expansive to build on some machines than on others, which will force you to vary your strategy. This game, this vehicle lets you build firepower quickly with very few parts, with only 3 parts, i can boost it up by 6. Better grab a bunch of buildings quick and make use of that. Next game with a different vehicle... it will cost 7 parts to boost my firepower quickly. Suddenly, if you go the same route, you will probably lose. It will take you too many actions to build up while other players will just overtake you. Usually, i agree with most of Zee's reviews, but this time i think he's really off about the replayability. This is just as replayable as most games out there.
After playing it, this definitely has the feel of an Antoine Bauza game. It's very similar in feel and weight to Takenoko, Tokaido and basegame 7 Wonders. If you enjoy those games, i would recommend this game, definitely. The only thing that's overproduced is the buildings really. The plastic chips need to be as sturdy as they are because cardboard tokens would have been damaged real quick (you manipulate them a LOT in this game). Cards would've suffered the same problem. There is also actually a bit more going on than appears. You definitely benefit from going after a particular strategy. Does it feel samey from game to game? Not more or less than Tokaido, Takenoko or 7 Wonders. The one and only problem of this game is the overproduced buildings. They are so nice, i think it creates a false expectation of what the game actually is, so many can feel let down once they understand the game.
The game's great imo. It's really a family weight game in the same vein as other of Bauza's games. If you like his designs, you'll really enjoy this one. If you prefer heavy grand strategy games... you are not the target audience here.

Sounds like a good game that is on my "probably" list, but I was hoping for even more from a collaboration between Antoine Bauza and Eric Lang.
Wish I could of seen the ship built... 😔

@@martinlarouche4418 Holy Duke Nukem, Batman … I forgot about molecular manipulation ... that Taj Mahal on the miniature golf course ... could it be?

Some of those tokens look a bit small.
Haha nice the Ruhrpott Cap :) greetings from Essen.
I just googled that to see where it is!
Looks excellent! On my 'to buy' list.
sounds like an expansion that pulls this puzzle in a different direction each session would really help it shine

I just picked this up for $5 from Asmodee. I'll get my worth. Lol.
Fun game, but I can't find a reason to play it again, it doesn't have enough variability for me.
Overproduced and too costly (in UK) for what is a basic game with no replay value. CMON are just not bringing it, it's all just miniature Polish.
If two no-name designers had made this it would have received a lower score. The gameplay simply doesn't look that interesting.

hard pass for me. how is this an 8. its just seems boring

No Solo = No Buy
Seems very boring to be honest. Besides the theme I don't see any appeal.
