Lalita Pawar was an amazingly capable actor. During a shooting scene, an actor slapped her so hard that the poor lady damaged her one eye. But nothing could damage her acting talent! The ease with which she portrays a poor fruit vendor demonstrates her superb acting skills.

Lalita Pawar was such an accomplished actress. It's a shame that all the limelight is shone on the hero and the heroine of the Bollywood movies. These films wouldn't be complete and a hit without the character actors. She marvelled at every character that she played in the movies. Truly a legend.

I have seen this film several times just for beautiful songs and lovely scenes.The film story is also interesting and attracts your feelings.Particularly the very last wedding scene when Nargis slapes Rajkapoor but he smiles and that is the turning point.Surprisingly after decades when I happen to see this movie again I don't feel bore and still enjoy.Almost all the actors in film are not alive but they have captured our hearts and live therein. we feel they are around us and trying to entertain us.
