My Father is not just a Master, he was a genius at work in this. We can call him a legend. He use to do 500 Kg of these in a day. My elder brother who accompanied him since childhood could only reach 150 to 200 kilos only at his peak. Such a legend he was, I miss him badly 😢😢😢

Yes it was and is dangerous, myself stitches, swarf in eyes, broken teeth when the mandrel gave out and a peice hit me in the face. Workmates lost fingers and other factories other then the one I was at there were deaths. We had ppe, full Coverings, eye wear, gloves, ear protection, head covering. When I look back I made good money but I now think that was a high risk job. Glad it is mostly automated now.

About 30 years ago my dad owned a factory like that. I worked there once in a while. I didn’t actually do that, but I helped out the guys who worked on the lathe. We made aluminium utensils. I was about 10 years old. No protective gear. I’m still here.
