Wow. There's a point where Alan Alda is almost prophetic.
I love this man.. sharp, funny, brilliant.. forever one of the greatest :)..
I love Alan Alda! M.A.S.H. was MUST SEE TV for me.
Alan Alda is a beautiful person. Read his 1st book while taking a holiday in Lake Garda, loved the holiday and really loved his life story. Saw him on 30 rock and he is blended in so well .His happy personality is contagious.
19 and have loved mash for years! Hawkeye is the best!
i could listen to alan all day
His laugh is legendary. One look at his face when hes laughing and you know he hasn't changed one bit.
19, and love MASH. can't remember when i first saw it. hawkeye's my favourite.
what an amazing actor,Mash is my fav.show i have bought all the seasons on dvd all 11(yeah expensive)but totally worth it.and have read his books really good reads.
Man, these are two of my favourite people. Great interview!
no question about it, THE BEST TV SERIS EVER CREATED
I still cry my eyes out when watching the last episode of M*A*S*H. I think it is the best series ever on TV.
I love Alan Alda. Very good book too I might add.
I love Alan Alda, he is one of my favourite actors of all time. He is a brilliant man. I feel he is a very wise man. His work is very good. If he was ever to run for something I would vote for him cause I think he would only run if he though he could do some good. He has been very brave to tell people about himself, things that are private and personal to him.
when i met him, i had chills when i saw how similar and youthful his eyes are just like back in the day.
Each and every time I see M*A*S*H it is always new, and never feel bored watching it. And this guy is one hell of a guy.
He always makes me feel good. I see his face or hear his voice or watch his acting or read his writing and I feel better. He makes us see the possibilities of life.
Certainly one of the top 10 of all time, no questions asked. Easily the most timeless
I've been watching Mash ever since I was 9 years old, and I've loved it ever since!
Alan Alda is awesome.
Alan Alda-Top 10 Actors of All-time.
I allways like hearing what he has to say verry smart man.
You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself. ~Alan Alda
Alan Alda AKA Hawkeye is my greatest inspiration! Thanks :)
.alan has soul, that human kindness that is missing from most people today..
i'm 23 and love MASH
im 18 and love mash
I absolutely love when he laughs
I really love Alan Alda. He's great. I haven't really looked him up in a long time so my image of him is in the 60's. Now he's 77.wow
im 14 and i like mash
Hawkeye is the best TV character ever.
Brilliant man 👍
I'm a medical student and even though he is a actor, he is a truly inspirational character in M*A*S*H.
I love that joke he makes about the surgical procedure and how he learned it on mash it really brought out the hawkeye in him.I'm glad he's still working and I loved his character on the west wing!a truly great actor
Thank you for publishing this

Lovely man.
I LOVE ALAN ALDA! Thank you so much for posting this!
man i love his voice
"Just last week I strangled a man for batteries"
~Alan Alda
M*A*S*H - The best tv series created.
Okay, so Alda's a prime candidate for father of the year, but that still doesn't change what he did on TV in front of MILLIONS of people.
Alan Alda is so interesting!
he's a hero
i love u Pierce
he sounds the same as he did in mash alan alda rules!
M*A*S*H forever
awesome show indeed
Yeah, Alan Alda is a perfect, flawless man, right?
13 and love it
Alan made MASH succsessful. It wouldnt have worked without him.
MASH was an ENSAMBLE show. It took the efforts of the entire cast to make it work. It was not The Alan Alda Show, even though that's probably what they were going for.
Alda makes Stromboulopoulis look like such a light weight. There was a time when impartiality was admired in journalism. When Alda says he doesn't want to tell people what to think, George looks like he doesn't even comprehend the thought.
Actually, George is Canadian. He started out as a MuchMusic VJ
Yet that was an underlying thing for the Whole show. It's always shown throughout the series that Hawkeye respects but also seems to have a crush on Margret. Watch Season 1- 11 and you'll see it too.
I like that even though he was exposed to things at such a young age. hes managed to maintain a healthy loving marriage for a large portion of his life. Such an achievement.
"What if they got a President that way?"
Unfortunately, my dear Sir, they did.
But does that mean he had to be in EVERY episode and have about 92% of all the plots centered around him?!
his voice still sounds exactly the same!
I've seen that episode 5 times. He scared that woman half to death, probably made her think he was going to do something to her if she didn't keep her child quiet, so she, being an unstable and unbalanced woman, accidentally suffocated her child out of fear, for both the enemy and the screaming madman at the front of the bus.
Alan Alda is 72 now. He was 36 when M*A*S*H started and 47 and visibly graying when the show ended.
he looks and sounds exactly the same as he did in the 70s,but now he has white hair
Right, and even then he never shut up.
his voice is so much like Howard Stern
I have a lot more respect for ALAN after hearing about him NOT spreading political beliefs!!! Bravo sir! It's great to be able to share a political view, but he was polarizing his fan-base with opinions about politics. Alan was not my favorite actor, but over time I find him much more impressive. My opinion doesn't matter...either way I like him much more as time goes on.
Glad he survived in Chile, would have been very sad to lose him that way!
Hey, nobody forced him to say and do those things. He's a big star, he could've changed anything he wanted.
You know he has the Still from MASH that was in the SWAMP
I got a autograph from him
Ok sure thanks for your opinion
Is that so, Triscuit? Allow me to point out some episodes that did NOT involve O.R. and surgery: "Picture This", "Hawkeye", "The Bus".
And how did he do that? Is he some kind of magical man?
Alan Alda, The only piece of his work I seen was M*A*S*H. Does that mean I don't understand him? Nope. I've seen various remembrance tapes with the cast together and a clip of him with Carol Brunette. I find Alan Alda to be extremely humble and he seems to be like the type of guy we will miss if he ever does die. Kinda like Don Knotts, Harvey Korman, and Lucille Ball.
He always says he doesnt want to talk politics but yet as soon as he sees something stupid he just cant resist the urge to give a lesson in common sense.
is the host really called that?
Kewlios
After hearing him ramble on and on, the mood quickly becomes tedium.
Yeah? What's he ever done for you?
Wow. He still looks like hawkeye.haha
@theleggett171 Did i ever say it wasn't?
im 13 and never seen M.A.S.H
AND he's a good interviewer. You should check out the rest of his show before you go calling him a Jock. He's ridiculously far from it.
Why don't you try it first?
Cleveland Show.
It's one of the best M*A*S*H Tribute vids and my favorite vid on UA-cam. And opposites attract! What the fuck do you have against Alan Alda anyway? You always bash him!!
bill hader..
@ExplorerDS6789 YOU SIR I HOPE GET SOME SENSE M*A*S*H WAS THE BEST AND STILL IS SHOW IV EVER SEEN
why
spin doctor's worst nightmare
i like big buts
and i cannot lie
AskAlanAlda . com is dopeshow.
Hey M*A*S*H and Alan Alda fans, check out freckles2185 Hawkeye Far Away
He was seen TOO MUCH.
Creative Consultant, Written and Directed by Alan Alda: Ah, thanks for ruining MASH. How in the hell did the actors suddenly become in charge of a show? No wonder there was such high cast turnover. I would have thrown him off the fucking set for his behavior.
Can Mr. Alda walk on water too?
Anyway, yes I admit at times I do talk alot, but answer me this: WHY did they dedicate an entire episode of M*A*S*H to JUST Hawkeye JUST talking?? In all previous episodes he never shuts up, so why did they allow for an episode with no story, no plot, JUST Alda talking??
I think Alan's surgeon should've said, "alright, smart guy, YOU perform the operation". If he had passed away from that inflammation, it still wouldn't change my feelings about him today. McLean Stevenson is dead and I don't feel all that sorry for him playing an insufferable IDIOT.
i hear he's starting a school....overacting 101...
I hate Alan Alda.
I hate Alan Alda, mainly because he was Hawkeye: the disrespectful, appendix-stealing, womanizing, baby-killing imp.
He *acted* as that character. That character was not created under his control. That was done by the writer of the screenplay for the movie MASH which was based from a book of the same title.
@@briandeschene8424 He was a big star. He could've said no to ANYTHING in those scripts, but he didn't.
M*A*S*H. ER or West Wing. … great actor
I am so grateful to this man, and his father, Robert Alda. As a Pianist and a lover of Gershwin, Robert Alda's expose' of George Gershwin captured my heart and my ear and I play (or try to play) Gershwin whenever I can. As a doctor in MASH, Alan Alda had such an impact on my daughter, that after college, she became a NY City EMT and worked in China as well in a Leprosy village. I thank these to men for the blessing they were to my family.
