Whoever mic'ed 🎤 the percussions for this song deserved a Grammy but all they got in 1969 was a small group of us Hippies who were very dedicated to this album as the future. We were into jazz back then but we didn't know it yet...Jack
Savoy did it all, rock, boogie, blues, jazz & a little conceptual. What a great, underrated band. They absolutely deserve their place in in the Rock-n-roll Hall of fame...what is there left to question?
But it won't happen. Nor Rory Gallagher, Uriah Heep and Johnny Winter. The RRHOF is b.s. They have only in the past 6 or 8 years put Deep Purple in claiming they were a one hit wonder. Look at the list of some of the crap bands in there. I know this is an old post. Just ranting!
Heard this tune on an umarked blank tape in my dad's collection when I was 10...loved it and never knew who or what it was until today. Thank you xm radio.
And here you have it: "Fusion" before there was a name for it. Frank Zappa and Miles Davis are doing it at this moment (c. 1970) from either side of the same fence; BS&T is (and other horn bands are), at this moment, playing something being called "Jazz-Rock;" Rolling Stone will do an article in a couple of years about "the New Jazz Rock" (Herbie Hancock, Mahavishnu, etc.); John Mayall will use the term in a musical context for the first time in the title of an LP in 1972... ...but here it IS, by a British "Blues/Rock" band, that, with this entire extraordinary LP, proved that they were, however briefly, so much more.
This band has undergone more reincarnations than Peter Proud, but the Youlden, Simmond [Foghat] group on their second, third and fourth albums was the best English blues band this side of Keith Richards. Saw them many times in the Northeast during the late 60's with Youlden and they always blew me away. Give me a minute and the stories I could tell about this band.........

Savoy Brown I bought their records. I would have definitely road tripped to see them and among many. We lived free in music. This tune cooks. TY

NICE. BEAUTIFUL. NO ONE KNOWS THIS GREAT ALBUM.... SUCH A SHAME. So very underrated. Sometimes, good things remain unnoticed, even for many decades.
In the days we listened to Savoy Brown and Mott the Hoople and 10 Years After with green and a little more wine
this cut is off one GREAT album!!!
Rip Kim, always loved this, his nod to Kenny Burrell
If possible, the most serene Savoy I've heard, all without losing any of the instruments clarity or the musicians finesse...really beautiful
