I've been using 1st generation Thar since last 7 years. What you said is absolutely correct. Many people get tricked by the macho looks of Thar & regret later. Though driving new Thar is like driving a Mercedes car for a person like me, who drives 1st generation Thar. Talking about fuel efficiency? What is that? बस टंकी फुल करदे भाई....😂

Thar is a special vehicle made for a specific purpose (offroading) and it serves its purpose very well.
Thar is the only vehicle which offers 4x4 for under 15 lakh. Noise and vibrations are there but they make you feel the raw power (like Rolal Enfiled in case of motorcycles), thar lovers will enjoy it. It's not made for comfortable long rides and high speed running on highways (machine is capable but you'll probably loose control over it on higher speeds).
Dynamics, centre of gravity, frame structure, weight distribution, gerabox, engine tuning etc are different for vehicles of different class.
Actually the problem is within the customers they need to understand their purpose and then make a decision.
If you want a offroad vehicle, go for thar blindly It's a wonderful SUV.
If you want a car for your family go for other options, It's not a family vehicle.

Fully agree.. Plus in new thar... petrol, no noise, Comfort awesome, road presence awesome. Thar 2020 has no comparison....be it off roading or daily office going... Plus... Its made in india with pride

Dear Amit Sir, I always admire your reviews but this one I really disappointed. You said why Thar is not compared with any other SUVs.... sir this car is made not for masses...and not made for all. Everyone who knows little bit of automobile industry will agree that Thar is a different segment....yes this is meant for off roading I agree but at the same tjme few of the comments in your video is disappointing. Mahindra has improved a lot in this car if you compare the current version with previous ones. It's a true 4x4.
I always see your videos with trust . Sorry to say this time it felt that not others rather you are paid to give such negative comments to Thar. Myself driving thar since 2 months and its like i have got an expensive suv in a low budget. Ac , braking handling all too good. Hats of to Mahindra.

थार की वेटिंग का मुख्य कारण सेमीकंडक्टर चिप्स उपलब्ध ना होना है,ना की हाई डिमांड। शोरूम पर जो थार आ भी रही है उन्मे प्लेअर लगा नहीं आ रहा है। इस कारण कम्पनी डिमांड पूरी नहीं कर पा रही है चाहे थार हो या स्कॉर्पीओ हो या xuv

Only a small suggestion from a Thar Fan, please do not compare this car with Alto(800 cc 3-cylinder), Tiago(1.2 L 3 cylinder), Renault Kwid(800 cc 3-cyl/1.0L 3 cyl), Datsun Redi-Go(800cc 3-cyl/1.0L 3-cyl). Please sir do not compare with these cars. Even Kwid, Redi Go has 28 Litre Fuel Tank and the wheel is connected to the axle with only 3 bolts. Please sir don't compare the beast, the capable ORIGINAL SUV, with Alto, Kwid, Tiago, Redi-Go. These cars did the worst performance in the crash test except Tata Tiago ,scored 4 stars(Although its body shell integrity was found to be UNSTABLE) and Thar has scored 4 stars in Global NCAP test( with a STABLE body shell integrity).

I believe that no car is 100% perfect, it all depends on individuals requirements and likes. Also, we need to take all reviews with pinch of salt and not blindly follow what's being said on the review.
For me, Thar is a ideal 2nd car in a family and you all know the reason for it.
I was also fan of macho looks of thar. But your review brought me on ground. I am not interested in off roading and damaging car for no reason when good roads are available. I believe in driving comfort. Thanks for practical advice.

Good afternoon Sir. I am the subscriber of your UA-cam channel. I regularly watch your UA-cam videos. I need your help. I have a swift DZIRE vxi 2009 model petrol car. This is BS3 engine. I just wanted to confirm from you that this car comes with catalytic converter fitted with or not. Because recently I have got my car serviced from go mechanic partner car world at Chandigarh. After the delivery, I noticed that the Car is making unwanted sounds from the exhaust system. I doubt that this unwanted sounds are due to the catalytic converter or mitti. I got my car checked from Maruti Suzuki cm auto sales from Chandigarh outlet. They said that this model does not have the catalytic converter fitted with the exhaust system. However I wanted to confirm from you. In view of the above you are requested to kindly confirm. Regards.

He is always truthful and unbiased, I personally feel this vehicle is a pure copy of looks from JEEP brand in US, Technically it is 100X downgraded version of JEEP.. Why should we copy, why can't Mahindra build something on its true ownership in this segment. Like NEXON from TATA - it's a true proud flagship .. Wow.. Thank you sir..
