Another is Marchesa the Black Rose, Grixis +1 counters requires some delving into cards those colors typically dont play. Not having green or white is a cool way to build +1 counters imo. Also dethrone can change up how you play each game as you almost always target the player with highest life.
My favorite unique Commander: Gor Muldrak. Just give your opponents a bunch of salamanders and watch them hit each other with them. Works similar to tails you can get protection from almost anything.
I've always sort of passed by Thromok, the Insatiable because without any evasion or protection it seemed kind of meh. I've never been a fan of green-red big stompy nonsense anyways. But now looking at it with all the power-matters cards in red-green I've never really thought of before, it seems like a really cool (and scary explosive) deck. 7² power and a Fling in hand you can cast at any time sounds absolutely terrifying to face off against! Might give brewing them a try.
Yes it is very explosive. You just need 7 extra creatures, cast Thromok, then deal damage with spells. I am trying to find the right ratio of "Fling" type cards and token makers
I’ve been looking at a couple sources to try to answer this. “The legend rule” states that one of the legends must be put directly into the graveyard and cannot be responded to. This would NOT count as sacrificing or destroying. ‘Dying’ in Magic is whenever a creature is put into the graveyard from the battlefield in any way. So interestingly enough, without saying it specifically in the rules, forcing the legend rule to activate is an way to cause an unanswerable death trigger. Super cool video man, I like that your showing powerful off-meta things. Refreshing. Also Sorry to be that ‘let me check the rules’ type of guy, I was just super curious when I saw the previous comment. Vvvvvv Legend ruling- see rule 704.5j Dying ruling- see rule 700.4
You're absolutely fine! I don't want to say one thing, have a player spend their time and money, only to find out they built a deck that doesn't work the way they had hoped. Thank you for looking into that!
I think Shirei, Shizo’s caretaker is another unique build around. Being able to resurrect 1 power or less creatures at each end step can turn lots of common 1 or 2 cost creatures with etb or ltb effects can be repeated each turn, very much death by a thousand cuts type style of play. I love it bc I get excited to see 1/1s in new sets with new abilities to use and abuse.
I thought about building a Gahiji deck a while ago for a naya giant tribal deck. Never built it since I don't like having a commander just for the colors. I hope someone has a good Gahiji deck.
i really like akroan horse and other permanents that already enter the battlefield under an opponent's control in Blim :D makes it easier to abuse blim
I'm always a fan of commanders that go against the usual tropes.👍
They definitely add a twist to commander

Marchesa is a sweet commander! I made a deck tech of her before the latest "dies" trigger that commanders have now.

I seen this commander but didn't think much of it. Now that you mention it, it does look pretty sweet!

1:52, legendary rule I believe....states that they don't die. You just choose which Legendary you want between the options available.
From what I am seeing they do die, I may be incorrect on that.

Unique commanders? . . . . . Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant (mono green commander that doesn't want you to ramp but fill your hand with lands)
That is a great one. I have trouble finding the right amount of cards that get lands to your hand and cards where you just dump your Mana into
@@triplemangothreat I actually made a deck around her. Its really fun- check it out! www.archidekt.com/decks/1534002#Sasaya,_Orochi_Ascendant

I love Shirei. Especially the card draw in the deck is insane

I would love to just build Gahiji with cards that promote my opponents hitting each other and they get more bonuses for doing so.

That is a great suggestion! I really like Akroan Horse in any deck that loves giving their permanents away.
Love my Gahiji Deck
Love videos like this
I don't mean to be that person but... Feather Voltron/Card Advantage? In Boros?
nice stuff
Where's my boy Tahngarth?
I didn't think of Tahngarth!
