Love her voice we and style. Kind of a Little bit of a Bonnie Raitt feel and a gritty blues sound to go along with that sweet smooth melodic flow. Great song too.
She sounds nothing like Bonnie. So tired of every damn YT commenter comparing every woman singer to Raitt. It's like Bonnie Raitt is the only woman singer they know of.
And what about the dozens of other artists that covered this song since it was originally published in 1961? Them too? Actually One Eskimo released their version in 2009 under the title "Kandi", in tribute to Candi Stanton who released it in 1970. But I digress, you seem to be the expert on who should and shouldn't play this song.
@whaheydelee absolutely, u r 100% right since I am a narcissist of the highest order & the president of the --- I am the center of the universe club. Oh okay, so it is you who should decide how this song should be played (covered by a one hit wonder), no one else should cover it, and I'm not allowed to offer comment. But I am surprised they have the broadband running this late in the trailer park.
I clicked on this because I really like Candi Staton's rendition, but she is definitely NOT "the original". That honour goes to Harlan Howard, whose 1961 recording led me to Candi's 1970 single.
Fabulous harmonica guitar and instrumentals
Just beautiful ❤
Great song 👌
Playing and singing superb!!!!
