This build goes into every world that I've made and played on. It's not small, but it's not huge and can be done super early in your survival world. Love it love it

Just built it. Everything works perfect except for one exception; stair blocks now won't hold water. Simply swap the stair blocks out with a solid block of choice. (Preferably one that wont burn.) Awesome build Skippy, still.
If you mean "auto" as in the automatic piston function where there are no present cobblestone: You will have to destroy the Observer which detects a block change, as where there are no present cobblestone blocks in the way, it detects a "change", sends a signal to the pistons, and they push the cobblestone into place. And then you would have to change the mechanism where at a push of a button or flick of a switch will push the cobblestone making you in complete control of the mechanism. But if you meant "auto" as in something else: Eh idk :/
This is probably my useful build in Minecraft because I AFK a lot and it's great to be able to tape my controller down and let it do its thing while I'm gone
Best cobble generator ever! No breaks, no glitching, works better than more complicated, more expensive builds. I put a nickel in between the R1 and R2 buttons (PS4). Fits perfectly, easy to start and stop, and no messy adhesive on my controller. Some people use a quarter but the nickel fits better.
Great it works! Just be sure that you place the hoppers in the correct order, from chest onward. Also it took me a while to realize that you said to crouch while placing them. If you build this near a forest, be careful. the lava can cause a fire just by being near wood and leaves! My forest was suddenly on fire while watching the video.
I think it pulses faster due to some weird things happening with observers in console edition. They don't always give the same pulse duration depending on where they are placed.

Great build! I added onto it withhoppers leading from the chest into a Furnace, and that leading into a Shulker box, cause I need to many for a bridge build I’m doing. Lol
I found you need 2 lava buckets to make this efficient otherwise the end pieces of cobble may generate in the bottom row of the lava chamber instead of under the pistons

Hey skippy it works! But there are some problems because if I step on the chest I can break the observer.. I think in the latest updates they extended the block reach of players so I placed a fence gate on the block before the chest. And some of the cobblestones are popping out and they didn't collected by the hoppers so I placed more hopper in the left and right side. Those are the minor issues, but I've already solved it. I just informed you so you can make a updated one. BTW thanks

not good enough...ive made a semi automatic one only with vanilla blocks...semi auto cuz u need to empty the filled up chest from time to time and to place the extra blocks back into the old chest and keep the generated surplus...u need some hoppers some sticky pistons and a ton of redstone...its not as compact as this but its auto....semiauto... hardest part was to come up with a decent looping signal which goes all around the system in the proper order

One quick tip: You can add trapdoors below the upside down stairs so your hoppers can collect all your cobblestone
