I disagree and think that the comparison (leaving series 8 and 9 completely out) was useless and took over the Apple advertisement strategy to compare their new products to those from many years ago instead of the most recent ones. They do this on purpose because the differences over the last years have been super minor. But to see this strategy also from a UA-camr is shocking.

But I already have the Ultra 1, which for whatever reason, won't get the Sleep Apnea feature. Getting the Series 10 is a massive downgrade when it comes to battery life, and getting the Ultra 2 at this point knowing it does not feature the improved neural engine, when Apple is all about Apple Intelligence and neural engine moving forward, feels awkward. I've ordered the Series 10 in Titanium; I'm going to give it a good spin. But I'm 90% certain the battery is going to get annoying really fast after getting accustomed to the battery life of my Ultra 1. Getting the Ultra 2 is just out-of-the-question as it didn't get the S10 SiP like the Series 10.

I went from series 4 to 7 and noticed the screen scratched too easily. Late last year I swapped for an ultra 2. Going multiple days on a charge is pretty nice. The GPS accuracy is noticeable. I also don't worry about the watch getting dinged when inadvertently hitting things with my wrist. Very happy with titanium.
I also have a Series 7. I’m the consumer who upgrades when my current device is pretty much obsolete. I will get a new Apple Watch when the Series 7 isn’t getting os updates any longer which is probably in a couple of years. That said I did upgrade from a IPhone 8 to an iPhone 16. And may even upgrade from AirPods 2 to AirPods 4 this Christmas.

But not really seeing a huge advantage to upgrading from the series 7. Especially as my series 7 battery really hasn’t changed much and the series 10 isn’t adding much more battery life. Thank you for this comparison!
I really like the new shape of the Series 10. Yea I know, it's subtle to most, but it's completely obvious to me. It's wider, less rectangular, and more circular now with even bigger corner radius'. it genuinely has more of a circular watch vibe to me now. People might call it a minor design tweak, but honestly this is the biggest change to the shape and geometry of the Apple Watch in its history IMO. Tied with Series 4.
I also have the Series 7 and will be upgrading it this time around. I just really wish Apple would redesign the watch face. I just really dislike the look of it. I really love the round watch face design like the Samsung Galaxy watch. It just looks like a proper watch.

I’m going to be honest and say that you should’ve used pictures or apps that light the entire screens up. You keep using black backgrounded apps, doesn’t show the screen sizes very well
While I was hoping for a much bigger upgrade, I’m trading in my Ultra 1 just because of the sleekness and thinness of the Series 10. I loved the battery life of the Ultra 1 but its bulkiness never justified my simple lifestyle.
I find is strange for Apple to proclaim this is as a huge design upgrade. Overselling it way too much. It's a nice change and improvement, but this is still the exact same design as always, with slight iteration and some fat removed. Why pretend like it's something that it's clearly not?
I'm one of the Ultra owners who is switching to the Series 10. It's basically now an Ultra watch but thinner and with a smaller but faster charging battery.
Yeah I’m upgrading from the series 5. From my watch it’s a bug upgrade, but after this probably won’t upgrade for another 5 years. I’m going to post a review on my channel when it releases to the public this weekend 🙂
@@vahagy6579 You don't get "both" in terms of Sleep Apnea tracking, doesn't matter if your watch has blood oxygen tracking, it won't be used for sleep apnea tracking, which is really annoying. It's so annoying how my Ultra 1 with Blood Oxygen and accelerometer can't do sleep apnea tracking, while Ultra 2 without Blood Oxygen tracking can. I don't belive for one second that the change from S8 SiP to S9 SiP is that important for this to work. And there is no doubt blood oxygen would be a beneficial metric to use for sleep apnea tracking. For Apple to simply avoid using it as their newest models ship without blood oxygen monitoring due to a patent dispute is a spit in the face to existing customers.

I said this in the review. It's INSIDE, but until they have resolved the patent issue the O2 App is not available in the U.S. it's available in Series 10 in other countries
@@briantongthanks I know him said it in the review. I just didn’t realize that Apple had confirmed to anyone that the sensor is indeed in the US model.
Solid Review!!! Loved the size comparison, the audio test, as well as the podcast listening demo. Also agree with your take on switching from an Ultra to a series 10.
I own a 6, and I am still not really considering an upgrade. Yes, the screen is comparably bigger on the 10, but only after years of iteration, and the experience is still fairly the same. Battery life is just fine too. I was really hoping for some better battery life.
It was very helpful the way you showed the evolution of watch face sizes. I'm on a S7 so the only reason for me to upgrade would be for a fresher battery or for the shiny black finish, or the faster charging.
What you said about Ultra 1 owners switching to the new Series 10 is spot on. It's a better watch in every way, minus the battery. However, with the battery charging to 80% in 30 minutes, that's good enough for me.
I decided it was time to upgrade from my Series 4. I seriously looked at the Ultra 2, but at the end of the day the form factor of the Series 10 swayed me there. Landed on the Slate Titanium 46mm with the Milanese loop. Looking forward to getting it on the 20th.
When you think about it, what are you really wanting them to add or change about the Ultra? That watch is meant to be a bit bulkier. The only thing they can do is make the battery longer, but no one is really complaining about that. Faster chip? Who’s saying it’s slow?
@@Aggie4life77it needs to be thinner. And they could easily shave it down while keeping the same great battery life. It’s one reason I’m switching from Ultra 1 to Series 10. The whole point of an Apple Watch is meant to make it feel like you’re not wearing a watch at all.
@@indyjones720it’s a watch that’s built for an active lifestyle where longer battery life is needed. For the less active, the other Apple Watches are ideal.
@@Aggie4life77 Add the S10 SiP with its improved neural engine. Feels very awkward as an Ultra 1 owner who really wants Sleep Apnea tracking. Ultra 2 didn't bring anything fancy over Ultra 1 to begin with and is already 1 year old so I'm not going to get an Ultra 2 at this point. And moving to Series 10 gives half the battery life, so that's not all that attractive either. Having Ultra and Series misaligned like this feels strange to me.

I find is strange for Apple to proclaim this is as a huge design upgrade. Overselling it way too much. It's a nice change and improvement, but this is still the exact same design as always, with slight iteration and some fat removed. Why pretend like it's something that it's clearly not?
My 7 has screen scratched and a small crack so I thinking about getting titanium one next time
I'm one of the Ultra owners who is switching to the Series 10.
This is gonna be a GAME CHANGER for you!
@@briantong oh I already know, this with the 16pro in black titanium.. so EXCITED 😁
Had the Apple Watch SE 1st gen so I’m happy my husband is buying me the 10 for crimbo!
Apple Watch 10 - The Utenstil Test = Pass! :D Loved it!
What a Shame that Apple watches Series 6-7-8 have Blood Oxygen Monitor and in the 9-10 and Ultra series NO... Why?
accelerometer for sleep apnea without blood oxygen level, stop it Apple please. Good review BT keep it different
Already approved by the FDA. www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfpcd/classification.cfm?id=213
That’s why I’m getting a used series 9 with the blood oxygen sensor so I have both 😁
Buy it in Canada
@@marshallsokoloff I’ll probably visit Canada again this year 😁
@@vahagy6579 You don't get "both" in terms of Sleep Apnea tracking, doesn't matter if your watch has blood oxygen tracking, it won't be used for sleep apnea tracking, which is really annoying.
Traded in the Ultra 1 for the 10. Health features dud the trick. Thanks for the great review 🎉
Hi, can u tell me the actual screen & band sz? I always buy different bands & rubber covers, so can give me the sz, i order colors gold watch to match my new 16 pro max phone. Thk u so much, God bless
@@1_BadAnd2_Bougie4Ya I just bought the standard 49 mm large watch with the standard black band
Great review and wow, I'm torn... I'm ready to upgrade from my Series 4 this fall and was going to go Ultra as I love the look, brightness and battery life. But since it didn't receive an update and the Series 10 is the latest and greatest with fast charge I'm stuck what to do. I wear the watch for sleep tracking too...is the Ultra that bad for sleep?
So about that jet black…is it a fingerprint magnet?? And does it scratch easily?
Noise cancellation on that demo was cool
This was major for me. I have a Series 7 and needed some comparison. Great video.
The fact that this is thinner finally made me ditch my first gen SE, the only improvement really needed.
I’m assuming you’re wearing the 46mm throughout the video? What is your wrist size? It actually looks like it fits nicely on the wrist.
Yup, I wore the 46mm the entire time. I have a pretty normal to smaller wrist size. I think I'm like a Size 5 for the Solo Loop which is smaller...👀😂
Series 6 owner here looking to go to a 10! Thank you 😊
I had a Series 6 stainless with a dying battery… decided to not upgrade and to just get a replacement battery through Apple. Got a new watch band changed the watch face. Feels like a new watch again. Glad i have a spare $1000 in my pocket too!
Lmao that thumbnail…classic.
Which one did you get...I'm testing a few :)
I have the series 7 as well, I’m updating. I just want to see the difference between ultra 2
I’m still using my series 6 and it’s still going well!
This review is amazing, i bought the seri 7 last year as there isnt any appearance changes on seri 8 and 9. Apple watch doesnt change much but every 3-4 years, i will get this seri 10 for sure when i update
Wait…do we have confirmation that the O2 sensor is in the US model of the Series10? That’s the only reason I haven’t preordered.
@@briantongThanks. I know you said it in the review. I just didn’t realize Apple had confirmed with anyone that the sensor is indeed in the US model.
Solid Review!!! Loved the size comparison, the audio test, as well as the podcast listening demo. Also agree with your take on switching from an Ultra to a series 10.
Upgrading from my series 2!!!!!! Cant wait
i laughed so hard @1:57
I am upgrading my series 0. It's time.
I own a 6, and I am still not really considering an upgrade. Yes, the screen is comparably bigger on the 10, but only after years of iteration, and the experience is still fairly the same. Battery life is just fine too. I was really hoping for some better battery life.
This is my first Apple Watch and I’ve just come back from Dubai and it was amazing and swimming was so cool.
It was very helpful the way you showed the evolution of watch face sizes. I'm on a S7 so the only reason for me to upgrade would be for a fresher battery or for the shiny black finish, or the faster charging.
Thinking of upgrading from the series 6 due to battery life to the jet black series 10
WOAH the Jet Black Series 10 at 5:27 it's already scratching like crazy!
I’m upgrading from a series 2! Can’t believe I held on for so long!! Just wish I got the oxygen sensor with the series 10…
What you said about Ultra 1 owners switching to the new Series 10 is spot on. It's a better watch in every way, minus the battery. However, with the battery charging to 80% in 30 minutes, that's good enough for me.
I have the first Ultra Apple watch. I do like the black version of the Ultra 2. Still undecided😩
would you upgrade from
iwatch 8 to 10????
My eye site isn’t great but I’ve always got the smaller watch because I didn’t like the weight. Maybe now I can get the bigger watch
I decided it was time to upgrade from my Series 4. I seriously looked at the Ultra 2, but at the end of the day the form factor of the Series 10 swayed me there. Landed on the Slate Titanium 46mm with the Milanese loop. Looking forward to getting it on the 20th.
Thanks for the review… perfect review for me because I’m on a series 7 and keep talking myself out of getting the 10 🥴
In the comparison with all the other watches, is the S10 Natural Titanium?
Wanted new ultra watch but I’ll just wait another year
When you think about it, what are you really wanting them to add or change about the Ultra?
Moving from Ultra 1 to Ultra 2 feels awkward knowing the Series 10 has a better SiP specially aimed at Apple Intelligence.
@@Aggie4life77 More battery life would be great. Would like to take it on a trip and not have to worry about charging.
Thank you for such a great video! I didn't notice that Series 10 has way rounded shape than 9! I think it's beautiful. I just bought Series 9 last year, so this time isn't gonna be my upgrade but I'm pretty sure a lot of people are upgrading this year! Watchkanda forever! 😂
The only problem is that now the Series 10 is thinner, my size nine straps are too loose.
