I was 12 when AC Gamecube came out. 15 for Wild World. 18 for City Folk. 23 for New Leaf. 30 for New Horizons. Every theme just returns me to a specific point in my life.
Makes me sad I didn't get to experience these games as they came out. I was born the year the first animal crossing was released and I was to young to appreciate Wild World. I didn't start playing New Leaf until this year with a sporadic purchase, but it was the best decision I ever made. Now I own GC, Wild World, and New Leaf and adore them.
I started with New Horizons and I went back to experience the older games, so I have NH, NL and WW (and Pocket Camp too if that counts) There's just something special about the WW theme, it's so calming And the first part of the NL theme too (tbh the second part doesn't really fit with the first part) And the Pocket Camp theme is really nice
In Wild World, I wouldn't start the game until the opening finished playing. I loved it so much, sometimes I would listen to it over and over before playing. So this hits me HARD. Right in the nostalgia.
I started crying at city folk it was my first animal crossing i played in my life and a part of my childhood from the wii 😭😭 i used to play it any where there was a wii "my house,my aunts,grandmas" back when new horizons was coming out i would watch this video to think about how far this franchise has gone and to see it still exist is very heartwarming especially when doom eternal was also coming out at the time i remember before i'd go to bed i would watch all the doom eternal trailers and all the new horizons trailers i'd love to say I'm glad for the old memorys😢 new horizons didn't disappoint except a few minor things like time skip but who cares City folk will ALWAYS BE MY HOME FOR ANIMAL CROSSING😎

Then bought New Leaf this year, played for a day and haven't played since, the music is ok. Two months ago, bought the GameCube animal crossing and I've been playing nonstop 😅 (I've even abandoned my WW town and my NH island for the GameCube).

I was so happy to find it, I immediatly turned on my little 2ds and started playing it again. It's the girst and only AC I've played this far, and it's been almost ten years since I have it. Now I keep it safe with my console, and I'll try my best to never lose it again.
The entire nwe horizons ost is based around bossa nova, a Brazilian jazz sub genre. i would reccomned you listen to the girl from ipenma, it has very beachy vibes

I always think that at first. I thought the soundtrack to WW was disappointing after AC1/PG, then i absolutely adored it after a while. CF came out, i disliked that it used the same music as WW, but then i really got around, since it sounded much better, like an updated version. NL arrived and i really disliked the music. It didn't have the same feeling as CF. Wait hold up, it's straight fire! The themes absolutely slap! After years of hopelessly waiting for a new AC game to hit the Wii U, we finally got NH on the Switch. But wtf, the music is kinda sucky. It sounds nothing like the other games. *Proceeds to constantly hum the New Horizons theme*, man what a great soundtrack. I still think New Leaf is the peak of the franchise, but New Horizons is right behind it. I love how much freedom you get.
My personal ranking 1) Wild World, 2) Population Growing, 3) City Folk, 4) New Horizons, 5) New Leaf I probably played New Leaf the most but I just could never get into the music.
