Tysm for this- I impulse-bought these at Target weeks ago, wasn't sure how they worked. Your instructions were super easy to follow & the slow-mo bits sealed the deal.💕
Love your hair videos so much. I decided to grow out my salt and pepper hair 6 yrs ago and only wear it up so I have a more youthful look. I'm always looking for new ideas/hair ornaments and these forks are on my list. Thanks for the inspiration 💚
@@LaineyMarieBeauty Your so welcome!!! Also if you get the time i think some basic braiding tutorials would be really nice!!! like a double dutch or french braid?
Thank you so much for this! I happened upon these pins in clearance at Ulta and thought they were so cute lol. Your video is quite easy to follow after a couple watches, and these styles are so elegant for your simple they are! Crazy these aren't more popular, they're so gentle and create such a cute look. Never using claw clips again!
Been looking for more quick, easy ways to get my hair up & out of the way in this heat and these styles are perfect. The French pins stay put well (I have fine hair) & I love how they look. Thanks!
i just bought a french pin so i’ve been looking at some videos, but i couldn’t get it quite secure. but doing it this way worked well for me, and the way you filmed it was great! thank u
Almost a year late, but I love #2 and #4. I saw another UA-cam video similar to your #4, but it required tying your hair in two overhand knots (!!?!), which scares me, because my thin, past-waist-length hair knots easily enough by itself without me adding to the mix. 😜 The twisting idea is so much better, and will hold the hair just as securely. You could also use your twist idea from #2 to do two knots, one each with half your hair, as in style #4. I love these hair forks because they are so much less damaging than elastics...and with this Florida heat, you're right - by April, you want as little hair touching your body as possible! By the way, I can't wait to try #1 too, and see if 1 pin actually holds all my hair. Thank you, Lainey! 😊
Thank you young lady! I am starting a new job in the medical field where we must keep our hair up so it never touches the patient when leaning over to do vitals. This looks like a nice option.
Thank you for this video! I bought these beautiful rose gold french hair pins and could not for the life of me figure out how to make them work. Definitely going to use these ALL the time (waist length hair needs to be up in this high 80's degree weather!) ❤️ your videos!!!
I just got these from target and am running late, wanted to try these, 😻thank you for the tips!! I love using things like this since they almost never leave any dents in the hair🙌
Thank you so much for this video, I had never heard of hair pins/forks! Ordered some instantly, hope I can get the hang of using them. You look lovely in all the styles, as always, the last one is especially pretty!
They are great to use and are super secure! It takes a minute to figure out how to use them but once you do, they make for a quick and chic hairstyle 🥰💗
We are moving to Florida in a couple years. I have your typical not humidity friendly hair. So I'm using this time to get hair hacks down. I parted with my bangs already. That was cold turkey. Pin them up or braid them back.
Hi! First video I've seen of yours. I bought hair pins a couple months ago.. just now getting the smart idea to watch a tutorial. You made ut super easy, thanks! I was able to duplicate every style. My favorite is the last one. Just looks a little bit fancy.. I am so not boujie but, it's just a bit more "put together " looking if that makes sense?! 🥰
Love it! Thank you for this video. I'm in FL too and totally feel the same.... want my hair up like 8.5 months of the year! I just got a birthday gift card to 🎯. Can't wait to give this a try!!!! 💞 😘
I love love love this video. How to you pin up hair that is shorter, like at the end of your neckline? It gets terribly hot in Georgia too so I need some relief from this heat.
These would work great on short hair too! They make shorter ones too, depending on how thick or thin your hair is! I think the shorter ones are available only on the Kristin Ess website. The bigger ones are at target
I really love your hair with the curls and the headband in the intro of your video, you look so pretty. Nice hairstyles, I still need to purchase a French pin / fork. They are hard to find where I am, I have seen them online, will try eBay, that's always my go to. I only have Chinese hair sticks. I would love gym hairstyles. I keep active, gym, yoga etc. 💜💜💛
laineymariebeauty Yes I have target Australia, I tried to have a look the other day and they had everything but French hair pins, I looked at other stores, but nothing so far. I might try one more place I have in mind that sells all hair care things and beauty, even hair accessories, otherwise eBay. I look forward to see your ideas for gym / active hairstyles 😍💜💜
My mom gave me a very pretty wooden hair fork with a sunflower decoration on one end, and since I've had no clue how to use it, it's just been sitting in my bathroom for far too long. Time to finally figure it out
Im slightly frustrated, my hair falls about 3 inches below my shoulders, is it too soon to be using it? Also my hair is flat straight so idk if thats a problem too
I love all 3! My top layers can almost stay in my braided hair! I have to braid my hair every night. It goes down to my belt line and I hate having hair all over the place when I'm trying to sleep. I would love to find those hair pin thingies!
I love all the styles I wear my hair up 90% of the time Imfrom Canada I would to get a set for myself is it possible that I can order them online if so im very interested please love your shows makeup and hair Like to get a set of hair pins Thanks
They are called French pins or U pins. I like them but after a while they start to work their way out of my hair when I put them in sideways like in your video. I've seen some people put them in at more of an angle near the top. So I think I'm going to try that next time.
I Lainey - I love your informative videos - I have long hair but always wear it the same way so I welcome your suggestions - my favourite from this vid is the double knotted one - I live in Uk at the south coast so don’t have target here but may have the grips at Poundland....😀
The pins are cool. I liked the 3rd on best. Also whyyyy can't my hair turn out like yours???? Your curls are perfect! I've trued the heatless rope curl a few times..I look like Medusa. 😆 love your videos!
Thanks I just bought these. Lots of cute styles. I live in Florida, also. My hair is always up. But hair ties are terrible. Plus boring. Sick of the same boring styles
Oh no u inserted it wrong. Think of the older hair combs. When u insert the French pin u make sure the curve is not against your head when 1st grabbing the hair. Start on opposite side and then flip once u get a good AMT of hair. Then the pin should go with the curve of your head. Hope this helps
Love that these are so gentle on your hair. I wear my hair up 90% of the time and I know the tugging isn’t good for you.
Yes! My hair is always up! I'm always trying to find different ways to put my hair up!
It's also nice not to have 27 Bobby pins stabbing you in the head, either.
Love this

Thank you! I just bought the french pins today at Target and your video is the clearest instructions I’ve seen so far.
Thanks for letting me know they're at Target!

I've been doing this with Bic pens for decades, but the french pins look so much more feminine and classy, obviously.
Yes!! Someone mentioned doing hairstyles with pencils which gave me the idea to try these! They’re very classy looking!
