Dina Marsh Yes you do. You need an activated micro SIM card that is NOT on a prepaid or pay as your go plan. The watch will only work if you have a regular plan. I am with T-Mobile and it works fine.
I list the box and registration number on the back is there any other way to get the registration number from inside the watch??

The location it shows is completely off! What kind of GPS is used in this watch anyways? Its off by almost 1km! How can I locate my kid in emergency if it cannot show an accurate location??

i both the gw900, i'm in canada. i both the gsm/caller id sim card: the watch dont work. i try to connect to the app to restore PW and it's not working ?!?!??!
Luc Fontaine Is the SIM card installed correctly? It needs to click and stay inside when you insert it. I had some trouble figuring it out. Also, the gold chip needs to be facing up.

Luc Fontaine I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know anything about cellphone carriers in Canada, but it must be that your network is not compatible with the watch. The watch works on a 2G network and the SIM card should be activated on a regular plan. Here in the US it doesn't work with pre-paid or pay-as-you-go plans.
We have the GW300 and currently it shows the time in Military time, but I'd like to change that to a 12 hour clock. I can't seem to figure that out. Anyone know how that can be done?

What SIM did you guys use? I have t mobile wearable service and I have no network.
I had a similar issue. The technology is different from most mobile carriers that I found. You need am IMEI sim card. Ting sells one and seems to be really cheap per month.I just activated mine tonight, but it seems to be working ok. The sim cards are also hard to get in. It will eventually "click"

Teneisha Robles you should have a micro SIM card. The chip needs to be facing up and when you push it in you will hear a click. The SIM card will stay inside. If it doesn't stay inside then you need to turn it around.

I get a message - "Use your registration code, otherwise your ID", when I try to register and press OK. How do I register correctly? I used the QR code scanner to enter the License number.. and all fields in the form show a green tick.
The QR scanner seems to be crap. try typing the number in
binleyhouse I was able to register the watch with the app. I used my bar code reader to scan the bar code on the top on the back of the phone. It's the IMEI number that you need to enter (I scanned it and it worked for me).
The watch says that it is offline. The watch can receive calls but can't make them.

I am having the same issue. Just bought these two GW900s, got two micro sims from ATT and ONCE the sim is in the watch, registered on the app, the watch still shows OFFLINE. how do i fix that so my kids can use these things?

There is no way. You need to transfer the sim to another gadget to remove the pin so you can use it on the watch.
@@leiorias6603 I already do it, the simcard I have for the watch should work by now, because it already works on the smartphone. The watch still ask for the pin anyway. Did you manage to put in the pin in the watch?
i finaly make this watch working by sendind orinary SMS from my personal number to that number i had in this w901 g-tab watches:
just two SMS, one for setting the APN settings (you operator could make it also for you) and another one for setting the correct ip adress of SeTracker server (because the application somehow "forget" it). my case the server for Europe is 52.28.132.157
so the second SMS i sent was in this format: pw,123456,ip,52.28.132.157,8001#
after that i was finaly able to update the phone book, etc...

Rinusha Laphir you need to add phone numbers to the phone book. But you can't do this on the watch itself. You need to do it on the app. Login, go to settings, then to phone book and add up to 10 phone numbers. Don't forget to click save. It should sync with the watch automatically.

Dang, I was going to ask the same question. Did you ever figure it out? I thought maybe changing the time zone on the app might help, but mine is still wrong
James Sepeda you need to try them all. It almost drove me nuts but I finally found a time that matches my location. The watch only displays military time though. You can't change that.

Everything is done on the app. Login, go to settings and then to language and time zone. Click OK. It should sync automatically with the watch.

This watch is a piece of junk!!! Don't buy it. It's a waste of money. I can't get it to work on the T-mobile sim card.
Erik Patterson it worked for me and I am with T-Mobile too. It's not easy to set up though.

Sarah Schaffer I have a regular family plan. I have four lines on my account and wasn't using one of them. I took the SIM card out of the cellphone and put it in the watch. It seems that the watch only works on a 2G network. I called T-Mobile before buying the watch and they said it should work fine on our network. I went ahead and bought it on Amazon. The watch doesn't work with pre-paid or pay-as-you-go plans though. I wrote a review on Amazon and clarified some instructions for people who have bought it and are having trouble understanding how it works since the manual is so confusing. At first, I was skeptical about buying it because of the few and poor reviews, but decided to take a leap of faith. So far, it has worked fine for us!
It took a while for the thing to start working. Almost half an hour. But it worked with my T-Mobile sim card. The first T-Mobile sim card I inserted didn't work because it didn't have a data connection. But the 2nd one worked because it has a data connection.
