"Sleepwalk" is Ultravox's first single from the band's fourth album, and the first with Midge Ure as frontman, released by Chrysalis Records on June 16, 1980.
The song was primarily used to achieve a record contract with Chrysalis in 1980 after the band were sacked from their previous label, Island Records. Compared to previous singles with John Foxx, it was moderately successful in the UK charts, peaking at #29 and paving the way for future success with both the album "Vienna" (released July 1980) and the "Vienna" single (released Jan 1981). There was no official music video produced for the single.

Первоначально играли панк-рок и ансамбль назывался Ultravox! и под таким именем выпустил три альбома в 1977-78 гг. на Island Records, отмеченные большим влиянием арт-рока и глэм-рока (Дэвид Боуи). В 1979 году уходит в сольную карьеру вокалист Джон Фокс, и в составе группы появился вокалист и гитарист Мидж Юр (Midge Ure), после чего музыкальный формат Ultravox как и его название изменился. С Юром группа записала несколько альбомов в 1980-1984 гг., принёсшим ей успех и утвердивших её музыкальное направление. В 1985 году группу покинул ее бессменный ударник Уоррен Канн, и группа, выпустив альбом под названием U-Vox, распалась.
В 1993 году группа собралась вновь и выпустила несколько альбомов, прошедших малозамеченными, после чего в 1996 году распалась опять.
