Aristocats Kids Colonial Little Theatre

Directors Justin Newkirk and Beth VanEvery put on musicals for actors 6-18 years old every Fall from surrounding schools. The shows bring together the community and provide families an opportunity to work with their kids and fellow neighbors.
The cast of 80+ actors rehearse only on Sunday's over a 10 week period. In 2016 they did two shows Peter Pan and Aristocats to provide actors with more lead options. The actors really enjoyed the music style of Aristocats and during the cast party (snippets shown during credits) they all recreated the bow choreography.
Imagine if school could include similar rich experiences. Could engaging students in this fashion provide them a stronger sense of community, empathy and build their individual self worth? Would love to hear your thoughts below.
