- Dwarfs got great content in Thrones of Decay but they are still missing some classics like Josef Bugman and the Shieldbearers. Could there be a chance to see them in the future? Let's discuss!

Not a lot missing but I'll be sad if we never get Bugman tbh :(
Yeah, it should have been Bugman as the FLC LL, not a plagubearer on a roomba😢
When will our empire boys get some heavy Infantry😭😭
@@vladimirfloppa9677 Dwarfs have so many lords, nurgle only had 1 lol,
Jus as I’ll be sadge if we never gets Hotseat Mode. 🐶
@@GutstheBlackSwordsmen Heavy infantry would indeed really be nice for them.
Bugmen setting up bars/breweries as "outpost" buildings would be so epic
Grim Burlockson with the rune golems, shield bearer mount and steam drills, would be a great scrap pack. Have him specialise in golems, miners and thunderers (possibly the drakefire pistol unit). Then have Josef bugman as a special celebration lord or hero. This in my mind is very well themed and works very well.
I feel like King Kazador is a pretty slept on character for a Lord option - in ways he's pretty unique considered he's a huge sized dwarf with strength to lift a horse and can hold two entire goblins in one hand. And I feel like a huge heavy hitter with his rune hammer, but can also switch to a crossbow, would be interesting
I love this idea as a lord, too, but what units could he get? Or do you think he could be in a characters pack.
@@mageem06he would really be best as a legendary lord you can unlock to play in someone else's campaign
@@mageem06 considering what does remain for the dwarfs is mostly a hodgepodge of units with no distinct theme; anything.
Guildmaster Engineer or Lord (Pistol & Axe) for Lord.
Ranger Veteran or Dwarf Brewmaster for the Hero.
Miners (Steam Drills)
Irondrakes (Drakefire Pistols)
War Balloon
Rune Golems
Rune Guardian
Or switch out any of those for any of these:
Ironbreakers (Great Weapons)
Breaker Cannons (Basicslly Light Naval Cannons, not very useful comparatively)
Shard Dragon (Please No, Ruins the aesthetic of the Dwarf Military in my opinion)
Rangers (Handguns)
Irondrakes (Crank Guns)
I know gorfang rotgut is like 9 feet tall, but how tall is king Kazador?
@@Rhinopotamus I'd say there is more you can do, even just with pretty lore friendly stuff, dwarf miner unit with mining carts full of blasting charges, so you get a bunch of ammk, but you only get like 1/4th the amount of miners to throw them, priestess of valaya, a high teir dwarf shooting unit, irondrakes filled that role in tabletop, so you have a couple options for it here, you can go the route of making a longbeard version of quarrlerers, then for rangers you can make a proper melee version with good melee stats, grudgerakers, or even the breaker cannons, where they have stalk with the guns and vanguard deployment so they can open fire and ambush an enemy on there advance, before running away so they can recrew it later, after the enemy decides to refocus there efforts on the organ gun ripping them to pieces, there is always a dwarf tank they can do, it was a model they almost made and dwarfs can make it, I don't think they should make it because it means steamtanks won't be special, and it kinda ruins the tech level of a dwarf army ranges from crossbows to attack helicopters
Bugman is a character that fits perfectly as a legendary hero for the dwarfs.
You put 3 or 4 missions related to killing greenskins as an unlock requirement and you're done. He would obviously give bonuses to rangers in campaign and the typical dwarf beer buffs in battle.
Grimm Burloksson is not redundant, he is the most relevant representative of the dwarven engineers so he could bring a campaign focused on the dwarven workshops just like the Skaven and the Empire have. It should be noted that all the dwarfs lack are things related to engineering and technically they also have the tank that GW planned to implement in 8th edition but discarded at the last minute.
Ya Bugman could theoretically be a Legendary Lord, but they would have to create a bunch of new ranger units and we know GW isn't big on new units. But as a Legendary Hero, he would fit far better.
True, Malakai is ultimately slayer-focused
Give Give Give as long as the Dwarven tank is even better than the Empire's i would completely loose my mind for it and a full on Egineneer LL for dwarves pushes previous comment out of the way.More than that it would give them a bit more punch and put them finnally on par with the chaos dwarves
Also if you put him in army with Grombrindal and Gotrek you could het one big super OP shielbearer unit. Could be Infinity Gauntlet for Dwarfs
Priestesses of Valaya as a hero unit would be good, boost vigor loss reduction, more morale and healing aura maybe, but be a little more squishy and support type
I dont think they have those in the conventional sense
One possible missing unit would be swivel gunners. An old citadel miniature, two dwarfs with a tripod mounted hand cannon. They'd probably work as a weapons team or jezzail style unit. Chaos dwarfs had their own bazooka style version.
Snori Nose-Biter thinks you skipping him deserves to be a grudgin’
Snorri's zeppelin has already sailed and he was late to board.
From raucous drinking no doubt
@@rjessee1991Snorri took too many bonks on the head and forgot about Total War Warhammer 3.
"Stuff missing for Empire" should be an hour long video devoted to characters, before even touching the units.
By Ulric's Wrath, YES!
CA make Boris a legendary lord.
Agreed, you have all the other elector counts, the named Grand Masters, and the other College of Wizards lords, for starters. But the biggest missing names lord atm for the Empire is Kurt Helborg. Kurt, Ludwig Schwarzhelm, and the Knightly Orders should be the next DLC for them.
Who plays empire?
@@RealEvilLordExdeath
Are you fuc&ing kidding me? That is the most played faction by FAR!
There's also the Dwarf Juggernaut, basically their version of a Steam Tank. Swivel Gunners could come back too as a counter to Skaven being OPAF against Dwarfs. They could also have Deathrollers.
Steam Tank for dwarves yes plz CA listen to these guys they literally giving you perfect advice to get money
@@MultiMoe11if only ca had the final say in what they can add
We need Josef Bugman.
Bugman, Kragg the Grim, Alrik and Kazador kinda seem necessary if they're really going for completion. These guys were in the main Army books and had models spanning editions.
I want to see Burloksson as a Legendary Lord to build out Zhufbar a bit, since that's an important hold. I'm not fussed about him being super unique, but maybe he could use some the engineering school stuff.
He’d be a good FLC lord
As for Dwarfs, they should really introduce Red Brokk Gunnarson. A kickass unkillable Dwarf Engineer / Admiral, with a Black Ark / Vampire Coast style horde boat. Ideally as a Dreadfleet DLC, with Tordrek Hackhart, and maybe Skretch Half-Dead? Or Aislinn?
Yesss! Man, Tordrek is one of my absolute favorite characters in the lore, and his lore is tied with Red Brokk, so they both need to appear in the game!
I really hope CA is smart and acutaly extends warhammer 3 life cuz the dwarfs could absolutely do a final dlc mainly based on engineering with a touch of brewery something like this would be great
- grimm burloksson LL
- josef bug man FLC LL
- kragg the grim LH
- shieldbearers mount
- grandmaster engineer lord
- brew master hero
- steam drills
- drake fire Pistals
- handcrank guns
- dwarf snipers
- rune golems
- rune Gaurdian
Personally I don't really want the shard dragon for the dwarfs but it would fit great for a monstrous arcanum style dlc of just a pack of big monsters for different races
I'm sorry? Kragg the Grimm as a LH? He's more senior than Thorek ffs.
That's going in the book.
@@frankpulmanns6685 I head this youtuber redbeard talk about him, and that he would make a legondary hero
@@stormerjc9493 Kragg the grim a legendary hero, grimm burloksson over Burlok Damminsson? Yes I agree with the longbeard....a grudgin has happened on this day.
We need Arlik Ranulfsson on shieldbearers
You couldn't be more wrong about the Dwarfs not getting any more DLCs.
There is a whole engineering/brewing-themed DLC for starters:
Engineering Workshop with a Tradition vs Progress path
LL: Burlok Damminson
LH: Grimm Burloksson (father-son duo like Ungrim and Garagrim, but with a Tradition vs Progress engineering workshop mechanic
Lord: Engineering Guildmaster
Hero: Brewmaster
Units:
- Prospectors (miners w/ steamdrills)
- Drakefire Pistols
- Crankgunners (this is a Malakai Makaisson invention, if his DLC got Grimm's Grudge Rakers, the Grimm's DLC can get his crankgun)
- Rune Guardian
- Steam-Powered Ancestor Engines
Josef Bugman would be a great FLC to pair with this, with an Ale Cart unit (or mount), and an Ale Cart mechanic that goes around the map selling brew, raising morale, enhancing trade, or raising income.
Then there is the rune-themed DLC
Reworked Runeforge mechanic with unique User Interface, reagents, and adding many more missing runes.
LL: Kragg the Grim
LH: Kraggi, Assistant at the Forge
Lord: Runelord (Great Weapon)
Hero: Rune Priest
Units:
- Anvil Guards (somewhere between a Hammerer and Thane, runic weapons)
- Rune Golems
- Shard Dragons
- Greatbeards (elite Longbeards that cause fear)
- Gatekeepers (elite unbreakable Hammers)
Not to mention Captain Long Drong coming with a Dogs of War DLC
..and Snorri Nosebitter as a Skulls for the Skull Throne FLC (since he has nails driven into his skull to represent his mohawk, plus the Doomseeker animations are in already, so this is a cake walk for CA)
Bugman could have a cool mechanic in what you mentioned. In the current form, you’re basically forced to play an empire building game where you have to conquer settlements and stay in your territory to defend them.
With bugman having a reversed changeling campaign where you have to build outposts in ally settlements would be cool. You would start with no allies but bugman himself is a horde. To build outposts in settlements you need to accrue a resource called like “respect “ or “favor”. With that you can settle an “outpost” in the territory of an ally. Yo I get favor and respect by battling enemies of your allies or order factions.
This way you can make a campaign that incentivizes travelling the world beating armies and not so much castling your territory, much more horde like and adventurous. I think that would be a fantastic dynamic. You could then raze or sack settlements but not conquer them, or if you do conquer you can choose which allied faction to give it to, this getting more “respect” points.
Wanted to share an idea
Grimm Burloksson LL
Bugman LH
As a legendary lord, Burloksson would buff Thunderers, Ironbreakers, and Steam Drills.
Burloksson is not redundant because, despite being the "Engineering Masters", the dwarfs dont actually have a proper engineering focused campaign yet. I think he could have a mechanic to show him being a true master engineer, focused on getting the approval of the Engineering guild. Heres the basic writeup i did before
Opening the engineering guild panel, you can create a "custom" unit by taking a base unit, for example cannons. You can then add stats to it such as range, damage, accuracy. You can also modify the type of ammo it shoots (regular/grapeshot/explosive etc), and the angle of fire (low, like a normal cannon, or high, more like a mortar), plus other buffs which may be relevant, idk what CA might wanna go with but theyre good at coming up with that stuff. You could buff any unit that has anything to do with engineering, hence the Ironbreakers who could get buffs to their grenades for example (like cluster ammo or smthn) or thunderers maybe getting tracking ammo etc etc, sky is really the limit. Then, once you have applied all the upgrades you want to apply, you complete your prototype, you can "name" it, allowing you to save that build for later, and can hire it from a special panel beside the RoR panel. There's no limit on how many upgrades you can apply, but Every point of increase you put into it increases its upkeep by variable amounts, for small stacking upgrades like range, it might be 5% per tier, but a different ammo type or firing angle could be 10%, and a real unit-defining trait ala Ikits unlimited ammo ratling guns could be 15-20%, which gets pricey very quick. However, you can lower the upkeep by persuading the guild that your prototypes are worth backing. This is done through Guild Favour. Guild Favour is gained by making kills with these upgraded units, and lost when such units are damaged or destroyed in battle. You get one point of favour for every fifty kills an infantry unit upgraded makes, and for every one hundred kills an artillery unit makes, but lose one point for every unit that was brought below half its model count and another one if that unit is destroyed. All those numbers are variable, im not a game designer so idk what's balanced lol.
As for units, we could get the drakefire pistols, steam drills and potentially rune golems too.
Kazador Dragonslayer vs Gorfsng Rotgut, please.
Hard disagree on your take for Grimm Burloksson; I don't view Malakai as a true Engineer rep due to him being a slayer and working outside the Engineer's Guild. The Engineer's Guild is a pillar of Dwarf society and it would be a shame if it never got represented! I think Grimm could have an interesting campaign if CA incorporated the Engineer's Guild as a mechanic. The grudgeraker and power gauntlet would give him great AoE damage as well.
My dream dlc would be
Grimm Burlockson as LL
Engineer Guildmaster as regular lord
Brewmaster as regular hero
Joseph Bugman as LL hero
Miners with drills or Irondrakes with drake pistols
Steam tank
Deathroller
Rune Golem
Shard Dragon
Wait the dwarfs have Steamtanks too?
@@Mortarion-xt9wp don't think so
@@Mortarion-xt9wp As I recall, they were supposed to, but it got nixed right near the end of Warhammer fantasy and it just never got to its destination
The only thing I personally feel we’re truly missing is the option for an engineer generic lord. The main reason I think we didn’t get one with thrones of decay is because the empire were getting one and it’d be awkward if two of the three factions got the same type of generic lord.
SUPER excited for the battle reports! I've really really missed them! I hope you've been feeling better and doing better, friend!!!!
Deep cut, but in 3rd there were dwarf Mountaineers on skis whith blunderbusses and Man 'o War had dwarf War Balloons with cannons. There were also Fire Bellows weapon teams in 2nd & 3rd plus 1st ed RPG had Witch Hunters of Gazul.
The Dwarves look okay from a roster perspective, but the representation of their unique mechanics is criminally bad.
The only unique, truly relevant, system they ever got was designed as a Tomb King mechanic alone at first. That basically says it all.
Looking at the Dwarf runes and then to the Chaos Dwarves is nothing short of a tragedy.
There is hardly another race that is so ridiculously undercooked from a campaign perspective.
Ironbreaker with guns they would be the slow armed version of pirate slayers, you can choose to be fragile mobile (for a dwarf) or use a more solid formation. I think there would be room for them especially if instead of being armor-piercing their weapons were flammable and discouraging. They would have a different role I think.
True.
Arguing that Ironbreakers with Drakefire pistols aren't needed, because we have Slayer pirates is equivalent to the argument that Wood Elves don't need Waywatchers, because they already have basic archers. Absolutely ridiculous.
Priestess of valaya is something I would want. Unique female dwarf hero whom heals dwarfs. Dwarfs with healing sounds OP
I would love to see those Rune Golems and Gaurdians in the game.
Kazador Dragonslayer?
Josef Bugman as a freebie lord, with mount, on St.Patrick's Day would be a pretty cool gift to the playerbase.
2 things: I wish for how you describe Burman and on that note if I have a garrison reinforcing a friendly settlement I want the ability to control my units (even if it's just like, 4 units).
Second: my headcannon for the end times dlc is that all factions will be getting atleast something. I know that's a stretch but the end times effected everyone (duh) and every faction is missing some of those crazier end times units.
Your slight against king kazador Dragonslayer goes straight into the book
Lost and found mod did a rly great and lorefriendly job!
I was searching for Chaos Robbie's mod and almost gave up hope till I saw it !
Bugman being a character would be amazing, he should also get his cart as a mount. And he should buff Bugman's Rangers so a Bugman's Ranger doomstack with Bugman in it, on his cart, can be made. That would be so cool.
I'd like to see kragg the grim as a LH for thorgrim.
Give us Rune Golems and Miners with Drills CA!!!
I think there is a good case for one more dwarf rework. I feel like the "dwarf" fantasy lends to building tall more than explosive territory grabbing, and would love to see the Age of Reckoning system tweaked to be something the player actively chooses when to start. I'd also love to see each Legendary Lord get unique faction effects like the Empire did. You could repurpose Norscan monster hunts for Ungrim, Grombrindal could have something like the Norscan devotion system but for the four Ancestor gods, and Thorgrim could have a system that gives him faction bonuses for every "dwarf enemy" faction (e.g. Greenskins, Chaos Dwarfs, Skaven, etc.) that is eliminated. To me that would really leave the dwarfs in a good place.
I could see them adding unique mechanics to some of the pre existing legendary dwarf lords.
Honestly I wasn't expecting any more Dwarf DLC, but this makes me realise we do actually have enough left for one. (Even assuming nothing new from Old World.) As I also assume we have to get Bugman.
Legendary Lord and Hero: I'd say Bugman, and then one of the missing but I like King Kazadore as the hero. (Smuggling in the shield bearers as a mount via him, or Helga)
Generic Lord/Hero: Priestess of Valaya / Ranger Captain (Whichever way you want, both exist in lore but not tabletop so it's not an issue as far as I'm concerned.)
Then 5 Units: Miner Drill Team, Bugman's Cart, Rune Golem, Rune Guardians, and finally a Juggernaut/Deathroller (I imagine give the former's dated miniature, it makes sense to borrow from the Bloodbowl miniature.) (Swivel Gunners as a Back Up Option as well. so we've even got some redundancy.)
I mean given the units, maybe Grimm Burloksson does make more sense, but I want my Bugman lord.
what I would suggest: Engineering Pack including Grimm as LL, Engineering Lord, Miners with Steamdrills, Rune-golems both variants, Deathroller (mentioned in several books and blood bowl, but I would just suggest a skullcracker statline as another dwarf/chaos Dwarf mirror unit).
it's not quite a full roster (missing a hero, a unit and a LH) but it's almost a full set.
Crank gunners(and other weapons teams), Priestess of Valaya lord/hero, Grudge tank(dwarf steam tank), Rune Golems( great weapons, runic crossbows, etc), Rune Guardians( big single entity), Brewmaster lord/hero, Ironbreakers with grudgerakers and/or thunderers. Guildmaster/Master Engineer lord. Gyrocopter/Gyrobomber mounts mounts for Engineer lords/heros. Thunderbarge mount for Engineer lords. Runic Quarlerors(sp?).
It will be a travesty if Joseph Bugman does not make it into Total war warhammer 3
I want Bugman as an LL. Bugman's Cart would be fantastic. A Ranger hero unit, another ranger variety or two. Maybe Bugman rediscovers Rune Golem and Guardian stuff in the Mountains of Mourn, and that could help sell a bigger DLC with him. We all want those anyway.
Steam Drills for sure. Shield Bearers don't matter to me, but I know people would love it.
Pass on Shard Dragons.
Helga would be interesting, she could be a governing LL, specializing in defending a hold and boosting things for the province she's in. Maybe even have an effect like the Helf Everqueen. Good potential there.
I feel like at least a small DLC could be done for the dwarfs.
LL: Grimm Burlockson (Just because I like his aesthetic)
LH: Brunna Ravenshield,High Priestess of valaya
Hero: Priestess of valaya, support and healing runes
Units: Miners with steam drills
Drakefire pistols (just for a heavy armor gunline)
the bugman's brew cart for a support engine (kinda like a war shrine)
Rune Guardians
Rune Golem (for the big showpiece unit)
I'm sure there are other things that could be added but those are what comes to mind.
With total war warhammer fantasy having 3 games and getting closer and closer to having all of the important races and most of the important characters it really does feel fitting for the total war guys to leave the fantasy franchise for a bit and work on the 40k game everyone seemingly wants. Having the game in an actually finished state would let all the moders mod to their hearts content and would give a lot of satisfaction to those who have followed this series for so long. I do obviously hope they will return to the setting with a total war warhammer 4 eventually, as I myself am much more of a fantasy fan than a 40k fan, but I would be ok with it being quite a while.
They should add Kazador Dragonslayer the same way they have Boris, the Red Duke and Alistar. Just a lord with a unique(ish) enough skill tree that you can confederate. Just adding lords like that I think would be pretty good to have a greater variety of unique armies you could field for each faction.
I am loving the dwarfs now. This was a great DLC for them. Super happy.
Should make Bugman work like Oxyotl, go around aiding various dwarf holds.
Honestly, the missing Dwarf Thanes and Lords could be added in as unique lords, such as Boris Todbringer, The Red Duke or Alastar the White Lion. Same goes for the Elector Counts, give them slightly unique models, a unique trait und maybe some tweaks in the standard skill lines.
Imagine you’re playing a multiplayer campaign and your buddy starts building breweries in all your cities
I would like deathroller from blood bowl. It would be fun just clicking around the battle and having it roll over infantry :D As for generic lord and hero for next possible Dwarf DLC we could have Engineer lord and Brewmaster hero (he could be support hero returning vigor and health with different kinds of beer :D)
Yeah I really do enjoy the concept of deathrollers. Mechanically they could provide a mobile form of mass for the faction, and be more flank orientated "cav" versus something that can run down fleeing units. I don't think as a piece of tech it pushes the Dwarfs too far away from their traditionalist mindset either and breaks the lore like a steam tank equivalent or rune golem would.
Deathroller is simultaneously the best and the worst idea I've ever heard. Completely ridiculous, I hate it! But also... completely ridiculous, I love it!
@@mohussain4792 The dwarfs actually do have tanks and golems in the lore, it’s just that the golems stopped working after the golden age for some reason
@@bugejoahshowalter3747 yeah thats why them coming back would feel against the point of Rune Magic being a dying artform, not helped by the conservatism of the Rune Lords. I feel any advancements in Dwarf technology and weaponry are going to be from maverick Engineers like Malakai and Grimm Burlocksson. Seeing a doomstack of Rune Golems when they're this tech that no one knows how to recreate feels bad. Not that the Thunderbarges stacks make any more sense haha!
Bugman is a must. Somehow, sometime, in some form. The game wouldn't be complete without him.
Honestly, if we do end up with more dlc. Maybe one dwarf dlc could forcus on the runes stuff. Like shard dragons ( unless they actually go with the Monstrous Arcanum you mention ) , both versions of guardians, both versions of golems .With shield bearers mounts as flc.
While another could be a a drunken miner dlc . With Bugmans as as the ll ( with his own mount) , the beer wagon, prospects , juggernaut, steam drill team , borer , and possible extra unit like Dwarf Mountaineer.
A flc for norse dwarfs with norse drawfs berserker, and art mammoths. Flc units like war balloons.
I can see Old world as either a sequel-continuation, or a Fall of the samurai style standalone-expansion
Thanks for the video
hey nice video
i think the dwarfs are missing a crossbow lord
to really buff range units and deal anti large damage ... i think there was one dragon killer lord with crossbow in lore
Nathan, after you do the stuff missing from the Empire, I would be fully interested if you made a series or just one big video going over how you would finish out this series.
I had imagined that they do one final sweep of DLC's for WH3 going over every faction to fix up/add/rework things and flesh everything out for a final time. Which seems like a logical step, but things have obviously changed a bit since launch. There is so much in the game, but it seems like they have so much potential/options after watching your videos for years.
So I'm very curious what stuff should be added, and what order, and maybe even what you think CA will actually do in terms of a timeline (not necessarily release dates).
Rune guardians and golems are very much a thing in WFRP, and we see them in the 4 ed. They were never really gone.
I think the idea of a wrap up dlc would be really good, kind of like the most requested missing unit for each faction
Maybe Joseph bugman can create bars around the warhammer world where he can recruit races that “go” to his bars haha
Taking some inspiration from Vermintide 2 here, but Ironbreakers with Drakefire pistols would be nice, and maybe dual hammer hammerers.
Funny in my local GW shop they said that dwarfs got delay in release. This week end was sopped to be the dwarf release. Oh well :(
I was honestly expecting that the last slayer Units would be introduce in a "Dwarves vs Ogres" called "The Slayer and the Mercenary" in which the Slayer wpuld face their enemy Goldfag Maneater an his many ogre mercenaries (like in the old lore). In which Makaisson would go out and hunt the Ogre Mercenary for ransacking a Dwarven Engineering Forge.
dark elves vampire counts and norsca need something
I think they could add many flc Lords if they just adds them after completing a quest or something instead or looking for a starting position. Just like Grombrindal on WH1 and just like many mods do today with, for example: Helgar Longplaits or Kragg the Grimm. Not all the Lord needs a starting position at all
I hope you continue these series and touch some of the older factions like Bretonnia who had the last update 2019
The Beer Cart could be support healer unit IMO, similar to the Bugman's Rangers ability to heal from their ability. Depending on the strength of the heal, it could be CD use or Battle Limit use. I don't particularly like units who have their core use limited by battle so I would prefer a more moderate heal rate on a CD use. Something that gives Dwarfs that little bit of a healing source. I think all races would benefit from some source of healing, it helps campaign battles and it gives those who play multiplayer battles something of use as well.
If we got Snorri Nosebiter, 3 nails in his skull and all, and Max Schreiber of the Order of Light (that Malakai comments on missing for his warding skill), I'd crap a brick!
Kazador dragonslayer, dwarven crank gunners, rune golem, rune giants, Bugman brewery carts, rangers with dual weapons would be nice
I want snorri! You give him a command to move somewhere and there is a good chance he forgets where he’s going half way there.
CA should perform a rework on the Dwarf Lord. Splitting the Lord into King and Queen variants like the Elves. Yes we need a Shield Bearer mount or a mini throne mount.
Also, I want to add that for the last couple of months there are talks that Dwarfs were supposed to get a tank, but because of the End Times and all of that bullsh*t they decided not to add them in the last edition.
I'd be fine with Berleckson coming as a legendary hero but I'd say he would definatly be able to be a legendary lord too.
Going "we don't need him because we already have a engineer lord in maliki" is a bit of a bad argument couse we then look back and go:
"We didn't needed Gaust because we have Kemmleir
"We don't needed Toddy couse we have Franz"
"We didn't needed Gor-rok couse we got Kroq-gar."
It's the mechanics that would make him different, focusing more on range infantry vs maliki's focus on artiliry, have his campaign be about proving himself to the engineering guild by helping the dwarf reclaim the mountain next to Cathy (the names of which escape me).
But again, if he is a legendary hero I would be find with that too.
Grimm Burloksson? I would really rather prefer to go with his boss of a father, Burlok Damminsson, with his mechanical arm.
I'm totally down with Josef Bugman, as he is probably my favourite Dawi character, beating out King Kazador and Runelord Kragg the Grimm by just a bit. Those two, even, are two dwarfs I would like to see as well.
Empire next I hope? Lets see

Its not in the army books, but i think a ranger hero would be really good to have, the master engineer can fill rhe role kinda, but a ranger hero should be able to provide stalk around him like the lizardmen giant flyer, and give him a a way to increase missile reistance around him so the proper way to use him is to have a devastating flank with units that can be pretty fragile, like rangers and slayers
I wish we could get Snorri Nosebiter and Max Schreiber to complete the Gotrek and Felix cast
I suspect the shieldbearers mount isn't in for the same reason that the Skaven war-litter isn't in and Nurgle got the rotbeast instead of the palanquin for mortal heroes & lords - it would require additional non-standard animation work.
The wait for the dwarfs launch in the old world reminds me how much I hate GW announcements. They announce something, you wait for months with no info, then they reveal one day that it's going up for pre order the next week then they start actually showing rules and what not
I'll be disappointed if we never see Josef Bugman in the game
Honestly, the idea of Bugman being a Horde only faction is great and, in all honesty, would be great for Ordertide co-op if a few things are done. If I might share an opinion, love it or hate it, I would love input from the community here.
01. Make his starting position variable.
Do not make his starting position fixed to just one region, but give him a few locations he could go to which makes him close to a Legendary Lord of an Ordertide faction which will allow him to be an early Co-Op starter. Your friend likes the Empire? Start your campaign at Altdorf and be able to help him secure his territory and then assist in beating down the threats around him as well. How he expands his cities is visiting and paying some gold with a faction he has a non-aggression/trade pact with (Trading being beer as something he makes himself, but he can gain additional resources through his trade deals and settlements if the local owner builds the resource building).
02. Give his buildings variable effects.
Changeling did well, but one thing that I think for a more overt version would be that your buildings should give more support. In this case it is order vs chaos/evil/whatever so make it where if there are order factions in control of the area the Bugman's buildings/undercity gives actual garrison troops, special effects, or larger buffs depending on how high you make it. If you want to get really spicy, make it where larger settlements get larger support due to better infrastructure (Imagine a T5 undercity settlement that gives a small bonus garrison of Dwarf Rangers and some basic warriors, plus something like rowdy or increased defenses). However, if the place is taken by chaos/evil then his men instead are considered debuffers and reinforcements for armies coming to reclaim the area (If your friend loses Altdorf your men are doing raiding parties to lower recovery rates, steal gold per turn, and basically lower some stats of local armies due to constant ambushes keeping them off-balance).
03. Focus less on grudges.
This may seem blasphemous, but I do think that a focus on the Grudge system in its current state would only harm a Bugman playthrough if he is a supportive horde faction. Not only that, but many of the debuffs one would get from the grudges being low might not really hinder him so it would feel like a waste to even use it. Instead, perhaps we can have him focus on the 'Legendary' Grudges instead as long-term goals with his having some unique ones to eventually wipe out the Greenskin LL's? Make it where if someone plays him the Greenskins will get a silent boost to their faction potential as well to keep them around longer and make them a more daunting threat.
04. Perhaps local restoration?
Hard to find the right idea for this, but I wanted to see what would happen if we have him additionally helping factions and restoring them to make potential allies and trade partners who are lost to the evils of the world. If Bretonnia is wiped out before you get to them, then by destroying Grom/Whoever else is there maybe you can restore the place to the now destroyed faction, not only making them a potential ally (due to 'restoration' bonuses) but also be given either a free undercity bit or a discount for future ones in their territories, so long as you aren't at war. It would be for the factions who are native to that area, so you could give all of Bretonnia to the Lady or the King, if you so wished. You could restore the Empire to its original state or give it all to Franz. You could bring back all the Clans who were destroyed in the mountains, or give it all to Thorgrim, etc.
05. No trespassing penalties with ordertide factions and local buffs.
Simple as that. Aside from maybe Wood Elves and Lizardmen, I figure Cathay, Dwarves, Humans, and maybe to a lesser extent Ogres might be willing to let you through their lands without too much issue. Local buffs could be for any Ordertide faction you are either in a non-aggression or in an alliance with as Bugman being in the area and selling off his beer could give public order bonuses, growth bonuses, maybe an economy stimulant or even impart special effects to allied armies such as lowered/perfect vigor if he's a high enough level.
Mind you, all of this is flying by the seat of my pants. I would love to hear anyone's additional ideas over this.
I wouldn't want steam drills unless they do something else with warp grinders. Being able to demolish walls is one thing but for the most part they're pretty useless. I would rather it was something you could attach to certain units like a banner or just have a variant that carries them, that can actually bury itself in vanguard somewhere on the map in ambush.
They have a dwarf horde, but it just sits there doing nothing in the water unless you go mess with them.
i was really hoping for a shieldbearer mount for lords and thanes to come with ToD. honestly if that was the last thing dwarfs get id be satisfied
I'm not familiar with tabletop but, I'd imagine Bugman would be a melee/support legendary lord. If they do add him I think they could also add a Brewmaster generic lord and a Brewer generic hero to get some of that sweet booze based support for the dwarfs.
P.S. I'm really surprised Burloksson wasn't the engineer lord. I could only assume it might be because the Engineer's Guild is based in Zhufbar, which is pretty close to Karaz-a-Karak so it might step on Thorgrim's toes a little?
Even if we don't get Josef Bugman, I agree would REALLY like them to add Shield Bearers as a mount option for the Dwarf Lord. It wouldn't even have to make them faster, just give them more aura abilities to inspire nearby troops.
Introduce a brewmaster hero type that brew magic. A modified version of rune magic where the buffs are similar to life magic.
Great video and thank you. I would personally like to see two things for the Dwarfs.
1. A check box to turn off the Age of Reckoning for those of us who prefer to patiently expand. In its current form this mechanic feels too much like a Green Skin "fighty" mechanic.
2. A Ranger hero, with special buffs for rangers, and perhaps vanguard deployment for the whole army so they all can have more of a Ranger feel without needing to create more units. Although I would not turn down more infantry Ranger variants. 😊
I would really like a Storm of Magic dlc, now that we have some of the spells from that for Gelt.
good and I agree Dawi is now really solid as a Faction, tweaks to AoR, Thunderbarge, nerf to Grape-Shot (what the hell CA ;) ) and give us Bugman down the line and iam as happy as a grumpy ol Dwarf can be. Nice Vid Nathan
Just hope they don't over nerf the thunderbarge in the campaign side of things. Be nice if the legendary grudges that require Dawi ownership extended to military allies of certain races being in control of the target regions and the cool down on the unlocked underway mechanic were a bit lower.
Other than that got no major issues with the Dawi as they are, won't say no to more content for them though.
I really liked your idea of a scrap dlc it sounds like an awesome opportunity to finish off some factions without having to put a whole lot into them. I was a little underwhelmed with the dlc for dwarfs mainly cause I don’t find slayers particularly good and this dlc is 70% slayer. So a couple of good units would be nice. Hell I’d pay up to $50 depending on how many units are in it
regarding the complete slayer roster : i don't see the trollslayers units so are trollslayers the average slayer unit that is scene or are they a separate unit?
Yeah Vanilla Slayers are Troll Slayers.
@@InquisitorThomas thanks for the confirmation. I think the vanilla Slayers should get renamed as Troll Slayers as to avoid confusion.
Not really a missing unit, but would be nice to be able to craft some of the lower levels multiple times, just feels when you’re getting to end game territory you’re struggling to kit your armies out with runes… not a major as I do agree the Dwarfs are in a super fun place at the moment
Norsca is missing it's faction update.
It extremely needs one
It'd be cool if the Bugman's Cart acted like a mortise engine that, if routs, makes all allies (35m) rampage for 30s.
I doubt it ever happen, but i'd like to see Thorgard Crommson, the last king of Kraka Drak and the norse dwarves
Gronti would be nice, they dont really need em but its great for flavor. Maybe make runelords buff em
I would be greatful if you make video what races needs overhaul and which are already there
