1 little thing for you guys that complain about graphics on this video, I didn't recorded on maxium coes I didn't wanted to, it's just a gameplay to show the enviroment and how good is the game to play, I didn't wanted to test the game on maxium graphics, I just wanted to show my usual gameplay, nothing special:)

Well the best way to show the enviroment and immersion of the game is to play it on ultra high settings
i can max this game out fully and get 100+ fps
The sound of an incoming car still creeps me out
Doesn't creep me out, but once when I was sniping, I suddenly hear the sound and seconds later my buddy was saving me.

I've died quite a few times from when I was focusing on sniping, and some shithead sneaks up on me with a car.
The whole atmosphere in that game is sad, so can't say people expect a happy ending. Also, is Bellic your actual last name or is it some GTA IV joke?

One of the things I dug about FC2 was that the hostiles would sometimes panic and run away, and when they were injured their buddies would try to carry them away.

They really went for immersion in this game, that's why it's so cool. Tons of little details give it a realistic feeling. Wish more games did this these days.
Things I love in this game are:
That greenlight & Sound that comes when you get closer to Diamond case (gives me goosebumps).
Trees , Rain, grass, terrain, vehicles, weapons, AI, Landscapes & bridges.
I have got fainted due to malaria & sometimes i ran out of tablets.
We can choose anyone among the 5 protoganists & could really see the difference.
No doubt Physics. Gunfires and sounds are realisitic. Jams & Engine heats.
Climax. It's thrilling.
It can't be compared to FC3 &FC4. It is FarCry of its own kind.(Guess what, It's made in 2008).
Desperation for survival.
Soundtrack made with African instruments.
But things this game lack are:
Stealth
Colors of environment are kind of always yellowish, brown. Which makes you feel heat all the time.
Openworld but you cant really explore some places like beautiful waterfalls that you see from the ground & top of the hills.
All you see are armed enemies & no civilians to play around.
What the hell are people's problem?
The is just some straight up gameplay, no commentary, no nothing.
And there's nothing wrong with.

This game was so good cause of its realism and action. Having malaria was cool too you always had to have pills or you would have to rush back to that place to get more which sometimes didnt happen. Great game

I finished this game 10 times. Awesome memories, especially of jackal's philosophical dialogues, the afflicted people of Africa and war/clashes affecting the region.
fc2 , its so different from fc3, fc4, fc5 etc... its because the mechanics of fc3 are largely different from fc2

I like far cry 3 and 4, but I really enjoyed far cry 2 more serious mood, more emphasis on the guns and the companion system... also the setting, I wish far cry 5 will take us back to Africa or maybe south america...

Whit all it's glitches and imperfections, i still consider this game one of the best ever. i long the says i keept playing it whit no purpose at all, just roaming the map, clearing checkpoints, gathering diamonds, unlocking goodies...

It's such a beautiful and realistic (in story and stuff) video game that I really enjoyed playing
It's always so crazy to me to look back on games I played and thought looked "like real life." The game doesn't look bad, don't get me wrong, it's just that compared to the incredibly high expectations we have for graphics now, this would be totally swept under the carpet. While I can't remember much of the story, I really loved this game, more than the newer ones. They are all good, but there was something about running around yelling at my brother for killing all the zebras and trying to do stupid shit, or - holy crap - that awesome, satisfying sound the diamonds made was just so cool. I still love the sounds in this game, they're so gorgeous. They're the kind of sounds where you want to keep making them just because they sound so perfect.
The graphics hold up really well in this game, at least with SweetFX to remove all the brown vomit.
Yeah, Crysis is more technically impressive but this game just has more lasting artistic appeal and a better atmosphere, at least to me. Africa's a place very few FPS games have explored.
I've heard something along the lines of, "now that we have the ability to create near photorealistic graphics, what matters is making a game's graphics stand out." Funny how a game's style can make it hold up better visually, even if it's less technically impressive.
Best in the series, as far as I care. Even with its flaws.

Ironically, CryTek (devs of Crysis) actually made the first Far Cry (known as FarCry on the box) game. In fact that's the reason why the series is called Far Cry.
I finished Far Cry 2 years ago but I never rode any gliders back then.

They should make a remake of Far Cry 2. All of the characters acted like human beings and I remember when the irish guy who saved my ass all the time needed meds, I had to inject it into him again and again. I remember thinking to myself that this is the first that this ever happened and it must be a glitch.
When I realized that he was going to die and there was nothing I could do, I felt sad. That was the first time I felt sad about a character in a video game.
The emotional connection this game did was amazing. It's something games nowadays can't do, and I wish they'd remake this game to have better graphics but everything stays the same.

I agree with you completely. While I don't care for how quickly enemies respawn, you can't run out of enemies to fight. The problem I had with Far Cry 3 is when I liberated all of the outposts no pirates or privateers were around to fight. Only the wildlife was left.

Almost 2017 but i still love the story of this farcry... However the atmosphere was almost always grey and boring.

ENB is a graphic mod. I tried it , but didn't like it that much. It tweaks the colours. But I personall think it looks less realistic with ENB than without.
So I still play It like it's used to :)
Update: If you want the best colours then you chould put 'real africa' in the game. It's a better version of the sweetfx. The game looks perfect now

I like some aspects of this game but hate some as well. Liked the realism and realistic difficulty. Though It was so empty and repetitive.
This game is mostly about immersion, scenery, exploration, open world, adventure, action, a game that focus a lot on its environment. I dont see any reason why did you lower the graphics.

lol I remeber when I was doing an assasination misson and then I decided to break the television with a machete, my health was fucking full but I died electrocuted. I happens at pure random, there are sometimes when the tv just breaks and other times you hear a loud electricity noise and die.

Loved this Farcry way more than any other. Maybe I was just younger but I was actually into it when I was playing and not bored of taking the same outpost layouts over and over. I feel like all the people and especially enemies in this game just looked more realistic and less borderlands-cartoony. Miss this shit

Believe it or not but i nearly walked trough the entire game, all side missions, diamonds, no quick travel. Just 95% walked to everywhere :P
We are close to 2017 we have a week more until 2017 and this game still rocks like shit I mean is a really nice game,yeah very much brown but is Africa normally that you will not expert colors like in Far Cry 3 the game is pretty old now but is still better then many other new first person shooters.I loved the realism I mean the malaria the need of those injections to heal and the pills for malaria and the healing system is more complex like in the newest Far Cry games I mean in Far Cry 3 you bandage your hand over and over and here you have more healing animations.And yes I agree that is a little boring but is still fun to play it.
Oh and the need of sleeping that is a very realistic feature of the game

I got addicted to this game, I loved how it forced you to really travel (now in far cry you can fast travel anywhere in this it was like 4 spots on the map and you had to get to them in the game, you couldn't click on the map, so escaping to a fast travel bus was like the most thrilling thing in a game ever, like escaping in a movie (dying in this game sucked it would sometimes take 30 minutes to get back to where you were so you really played it carefully)
this is still my favorite one, I love how hard it was, far cry games are too easy now so mainstream idiots will play them
also this was when blockbuster did "no late fees" i rented this game i kept it two months late until i beat it, lol i feel bad now that blockbusters is gone

The AI in this game is hell bent on murdering you. I still play this game a few times a week - I’ll kill a gunner on an Assault Truck, then race off in my own vehicle, it turns into a Jason Bourne-like car chase with the enemy doing everything to run me off the road (including running over their own people). It’s the most fun I’ve had in any video games.
