The 4 stem-changers are e-i, o-ue, u-ue and e-ie. An example of an e-i stem-changer would be the verb pedir, meaning to ask for or to order, which conjugates, in the present tense, to pido, pides, pide, pedimos and piden. "Pedimos" doesn't stem-change because it is the "nosotros" form and that form never stem-changes.
one of the best Spanish help songs on you tube that i have found so far! Easy to listen to this voice and easy to get it stuck in your head and sing along. This will help me so much on my Spanish final. Only suggestion, sometimes having the lyrics is especially helpful for someone learning these concepts. "Seeing" and "hearing" at the same time over and over seems to help. thanks for posting this video. Great Job!
Her voice in good but when the flash cards show what the "stem changing" verbs are, they are lost in the light. Needs to be done with a power point presentation!
Don't say that ma'am. Her gift helped me and my students. Her beautiful voice made my students get engaged. It's hard to find good videos for high school and college students. Thank you so much, Ms.Johnson.
I also have two more videos that teach grammar concepts. I'll admit that they aren't as good as this one but you can check them out if you like. "Adjectives" is sung to the tune of "Starships" by Niki Minaj and teaches the concept of adjective placement in regards to nouns in a sentence. "Oh the Preterite" teaches the preterite tense conjugations. Enjoy! :)
I really enjoy the song and I love your voice. It would have made a better video if you could see the words your using as examples. Maybe add them into the video by putting them on the screen?

Someone Like You- Stem Changers Lyrics
I heard that you’re learning verbs
that you find it hard and you’re confused now
I heard that stem changing is hard
but I have some news to help you out
Oh friends don’t be so shy
all you got do is learn these easy rules
First you have to know to where look for the stem
it’s the part that doesn’t conjugate
it’s not hard to find it
For example in jugar the letters are jug
But we’re not finished
now it’s time to start conjugating
There are four different types of stem changers
O to ue
e to I
u to ue
e to ie
Sometime with verbs you learn
sometimes you must memorize
Sometime with verbs you learn
sometimes you must memorize
Now you know that the types there’s only two steps left
and it’s on with our lives
We remove the vowel in the stem of the verb
and put in it’s place all new letters
First you have to know to where look for the stem
it’s the part that doesn’t conjugate it’s not hard to find
For example in jugar the letters are jug
But we’re not finished
now it’s time to start conjugating
There are four different types of stem changers
O to ue
e to I
u to ue
e to ie
Sometime with verbs you learn
sometimes you must memorize
Now for the change no worries or scares
back to jugar it’s a u to ue all you must do
is put ue in u’s place
now you’ve conjugated a stem changing verb
it isn’t all that hard it’s easy
yo juego tú juegas él juega ellos juegan
now the change nosotros it always stays jugamos
now you’ve conjugated a stem changing verb
it isn’t all that hard it’s easy
yo juego tú juegas él juega ellos juegan
now the change nosotros it always stays jugamos
Don’t ever change nosotros it always stays jugamos.
The choreography in this is great!

me in class: O TO UE, E TO I, U TO UE, E TO IEEEEE
I love the idea of teaching through music!!!! If you need to remember something just set it to music, preferably a familiar tune. :)
It got to the point where I actually sent this to my tenth-grade Spanish teacher in case she wanted to play it in class at some point. :)
Such a beautiful voice - should be doing more than signing verb songs!!
Don't say that ma'am. Her gift helped me and my students. Her beautiful voice made my students get engaged. It's hard to find good videos for high school and college students. Thank you so much, Ms.Johnson.
