Carmel-by-the-Sea often simply called Carmel, is a city in Monterey County, California, United States, founded in 1902 and incorporated on October 31, 1916. Situated on the Monterey Peninsula, Carmel is known for its natural scenery and rich artistic history. In 1906, the San Francisco Call devoted a full page to the "artists, writers and poets at Carmel-by-the-Sea", and in 1910 it reported that 60 percent of Carmel's houses were built by citizens who were "devoting their lives to work connected to the aesthetic arts." Early City Councils were dominated by artists, and several of the city's mayors have been poets or actors, including Herbert Heron, founder of the Forest Theater, bohemian writer and actor Perry Newberry, and actor-director Clint Eastwood.
Carmel-by-the-Sea is located on the Pacific coast, about 330 miles (531 km) north of Los Angeles and 120 miles (193 km) south of San Francisco. Communities near Carmel-by-the-Sea include Carmel Valley and Carmel Highlands. The larger town of Monterey borders Carmel to the north.

@@libertinemercenary8421 I don't know, I was 15 living with my sister and brother in law. I'm sorry i had no idea about the cost of living expenses at that time but I will always remember the awesome summers I had there.

Beautiful video. I've recently seen a more recent video form Carmel and it is such a shame that the outdoor dining has been removed. It gave the streets such a vibrant, cosy feel! It's such a shame ugly cars have been prioritised again and that the streets are less attractive as a result.

Visited Carmel many times but not in recent years. More crowded today. The on-street dining is new, of course. Clearly people visit Carmel to eat and shop, not visit parks or gardens. So many dogs! Becoming more of a tourist trap, I'm afraid. Beautiful town though.

can you film the rest of the town up on the mountains and elementary schools? Im trying to see if I was kidnapped from the place as a kid before they held us hostage in salinas! they got like three towns up in the mountains!
