On Indexed DS, you cannot pull the data as of the Effective date, I mean if you’re running the report built on an Indexed DS, It will give you data as of the run day, Let's suppose I’m running a report today and it's built on an Indexed DS, all the data will be pulled effective as of the run time which is as of today, but in a Standard DS you have that leverage, if we have a requirement that I want to run the report for a past date or a future date apart from the current date then we should always go with a standard DS. We should only check the box Optimized for Performance if we use an Indexed DS.
