Yes asmr existed ages ago. We simply didn't associate a name with it until recently. On the other hand, MassageASMR was one of the ogs. He also pioneered and invested a lot to experience with several tools used to trigger the tingles. A lot of what you see in asmr videos comes from this guy.

This is the best ASMR video of all time, hands down. Nothing comes close to the Rhode packets, especially when you use them like you do at 9:10, that exact sound is a brain melt. 5 years ago I was a freshman in high school. I used to watch this video almost every night. My life was a train wreck, I was a big pile of depression and failure. Sleep was all I had. But now here I am 19 years old, working full time at my dads corporation, 60lbs lighter, doing college online, and able to afford a new BMW. It just goes to show how much a couple years can and will change your life. So if there’s anyone reading this going through what I did, use me as an example. Things get better!

I completely agree. I wish there were more ASMRtists like this guy. This is the one of the first "ASMR videos" I ever saw, so this is basically what ASMR is to me. I guess people become "triggered" (lol) by different things, but ASMR to me, has to be slow movements and slower, smoother sounds. I don't understand how tapping is a trigger for anyone; that's one I don't get, but somehow people enjoy it.
