Take it back a couple more years and you got Michael Beasley in 2008 and Hasheem Thabeet in 2009. Absolutely shocking that the 2nd overall pick could produce this many sub-par players in a 15 year period.
2008 to 2012 2nd overalls where disastrous, considering all number 1 picks were monsters. Missing out on perennial allstars by just 1 pick is terrible luck
James Wiseman is one of the weirder prospects because he was never really good, he just kind of got an excuse for his entire career because he’d been injured a good amount. Just weird to see a Top 2 pick have next to no basketball IQ
Yup. Solely a prospect based on athleticism. I remember in his limited time at Memphis, he had that one huge block off the glass and people lost their minds😂.
Anyone who is surprised about what JG is doing in recent games statistically wise either does not watch Rockets games or does not no ball at all. I expected him to have a setback in the beginning of this season because Ime would force him to learn how to defend. And all season long, even when his scoring wasn't there, he's been a plus defender. Now he's learned how to play both sides of the ball and still get his points. The fact that he has 2 rookies that haven't proven a thing ahead of his combined production is a joke. JG was better than Miller in his rookie season alone.
@@Now_To_Infinityeasily could surpass lebron one day as well imo the way that kid plays with the ball if he can average 20+ next year hes on pace to be the number 1 sf in the leauge better than Jasyon tatum too
@@Time_Lapse_Master. we shall see. time will tell. he's taken large part of the season learning the new system and adjusting to his new role (off ball, more defense and equal opportunity offense). it's pretty obvious he's a rhythm player and needs to be initiating the offense to be effective. there are times he dont get to touch the ball at all and just standing in the corner watching Sengun doing his thing. As soon as Sengun went down, he's unleashed. btw, Thunder defense is no scrub and i dont see nobody doubles Chet and BI from the jump like what Mavs did to him.
@@pang0094 He's a great offensive player. However, the Rockets defense is 6 (!!!) points better (Per 100 possessions) with him on the bench, and this has been consistent the couple past seasons. He's also not a great passer -- an improved one, but he can't be relied on to be a consistent On-ball creator unless he improves further. He'll definitely be a good/great scorer in the long run, but he'll be stuck in Jamal Crawford/Cam Thomas talks until he becomes above-average in a category other than scoring
My criteria is sort of a re-draft, where the players are picked based on upside and how good I predict they will end up in their career. 1 Chet Holmgren 2 Ja Morant 3 Jalen Green 4 Brandon Ingram 5 Brandon Miller 6 D’Angelo Russell 7 Victor Oladipo (he’s better than dLo but only had 1.5 good seasons) 8 Lonzo Ball 9 Jabari Parker 10 Evan Turner 11 Marvin Bagley 12 Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 13 James Wiseman 14 Derrick Williams
Nah, Williams is much better than Wiseman. At least he played some games. Wiseman gets DNP'ed in the worst team of all time(at that point, ya know 28 straight Ls). If that doesn't tell you how bad Wiseman is, I can't tell you much more 😂

Kd was a 2nd overall pick
Sadly the 2nd Overall Pick is cursed. If you look at any of the big 4 leagues you’ll see it. Some get lucky but not many of them
Jalen green going so high is some recency bias
"Year 8 for Brandon Miller"👀😂 easy mistake tho but funny nonetheless
Haha ik I corrected myself w the edit

This is a classic case of scouts overrating athleticism and underrating feel.
1. Ja Morant (2019)
2. Chet Holmgren (2022)
3. Brandon Miller (2023)
4. Brandon Ingram (2016)
5. Victor Oladipo (2013)
6. D’Angelo Russell (2015)
7. Jalen Green (2021)

9. Jabari Parker (2014)

11. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (2012)
12. Marvin Bagley III (2018)
13. James Wiseman (2020)
14. Derrick Williams (2011)
in my humble opinion
Next video: ranking every #42 pick.
Bruh😅
i have a feeling ik who number one is going to be
@@KillaGoat849Tristan vukavic
Lol
Obviously Nick Johnson out of Arizona=#1.
9:59 if his injuries were not derailed by injuries 😂
Wild that people are ranking Jalen Green so highly based off a 15 series of games against teams that have given up on their season.
It's the nba, u new here !?
Ikr be shouldn't even be higher than Lonzo if that
He is dropping 40 bombs every week bro is that not good?
@@braga8904 yes but does that over a short span compare to someone like dlo whos been consistently good his whole career

It's not just since 2010. The #2 pick has always been a cursed draft spot. It's a weird phenomenon.
thumbs up, keep it going through all the lottery picks. It's fun to go down memory lane
This man’s content is addictive
Bro I genuinely check his page for a new vid twice a day, props to him tho for the engaging content.
I feel like bagley has been better on the wizards now
These number 2s really live up to the name.
u r da real poo poo king!! EVIL PATRIK!!! >:"(
I would of went Chet #2 weirdly enough, even though he is a rookie and Ingram in in year 8 I’d have Chet higher
Love these vids
Would love to see a lottery tournament, first pick team vs a second pick team and so forth
MKG over Evan turner is crazy
I miss watching this dudes rebuilds every night
Do every pick 1 through 20
I’d have Chet over BI, he’s gonna be a much better player imo
I'd say in a couple years you rank him higher, but rn Brandon is easily a lot better
Would love to see my Celtics doing great in the #3 rank
Dipo and dlo are too low. B miller, chet and green should not be over them. They havent peaked at the same level and dont have enough years on them
agree
Matt, what are your thoughts on Julius Randle?
Yes do the 3rd pick also
Jalen Green with a whistle will be the best on this list 5 years from now.
Brandon Miller is the next great elite wing🔥
🙏

Best NBA youtuber especially if your favorite team is ass 🤝 Spurs fan here lol
Oladipo was nice at his peak 😫
Jalen Green so high and over dlo is crazy
Parker could probably drop two
Miller should also drop one
Good takes tho
Jabari parker, one of the what if.
Jalen green at number 5???????
Yeah. A little high
Too low
@@pang0094 He's been horrible all season, he's beating up terrible defenses this past month and suddenly he's better than guys like Ingram and Chet?

Ingram>ja. Ja may score a little more but people ignore how much of a defensive liability he is
Crazy that the Lakers have had three of them lmao
jabari parker was supposed to be the truth, and he showed flashes
Do 3rd pick
Maybe I’m crazy, but Ingram over Chet is crazy
I got here 8 minutes after
Victor Oladipo below Jalen Green is obscene
Oladepo should be higher

2nd round picks really a curse half of the guys have injuries derail there careers
3rd 4th and 5th next
james wiseman worse than marvin bagley III is crazy
Mkg over Evan turner is crazy
DLO should be higher than Jalen Green. One is an All Star and one isn’t…
Ingram could be argued at no. 1 because of Ja's off court issues, but w/out them, yeah, no debate

Embiid would be number 1
Brandon miller is too high

just listening to him is too soothing
Why Brandon Miller so high
He's gonna be really good
evan turner too low
Dlo at #6? He should be #3. I don't think Green, Chet and miller has accomplished much in the nba to be rank higher than dlo.
Like it.. GG 👍
Jalen green and Brandon Miller shouldn’t be above a former all star and a former all nba player
I can see it but I think I disagree also dlo and vic are 2 of my fav players ever
It's what happens when U rank players on what they could be not what they actually are
3rd
