- If your lawn mower seems to be running too fast, or maybe too slow, here's a simple way to increase or decrease your lawn mower engine speed, and you can do this yourself without any special tools. Or, if you have $15 or $20 bucks, you can use a digital tachometer like I did to get more precise results.

Find a blade tip calculator. Input the blade length and calculate for 19000 fpm
Close to 3300 RPM for 22” I believe and 3400 RPM for a 21” blade.
I set them 150 below max just to be safe

Thanks! I have the 6.75, and the self-propelled feature feels like I'm running! I assume adjusting the rpm's will fix this. (Hopefully)
Usually you can adjust where the cable is clamped for self propelled, on the handlebar a bit towards the motor
@CrOnDYv lowering the rpm's did the trick, did everything exactly as you did (except measuring the the rpm's) just went by sound and feel. This was a great video! Thanks!!

Good information. What stroke setting did you use on the tac
I think I used the setting that the tool defaulted to right out of the box. The tool includes instructions on how to set it up for various types of engines, but I thought discussing all that would be excessive for the kind of video I was making.
Where do you find the correct RPM?
I'm sure the info is out there somewhere on the internet, but I was pretty much going by the sound of the engine, and it's performance. I never looked up the specific factory recommendation.
