      I loved my DT175. I was very lucky to grow up on a farm and have understanding parents who allowed me to ride around the fields and woodland behind. Got lots of riding in pre-16.
      Glad you enjoyed the walkaround. Best bits were chatting to some of the owners/builders, some very talented/eccentric/amazing people. Very few young people there sadly.....

    Thanks for the filming of our (Marston Sunbeam Club & Register) stand Richard. Sorry I missed you both. I was off wandering, although there all 3 days. The Model 8 350cc Sunbeam at the back, with the race plate No 12, was my bike, that I raced in the Swiss Alps last August, whilst you and Carol were probably less that 50 miles away, doing your Alpine rides. Really great video yet again Rich. We expect no less nowadays. Glad you enjoyed the show. By the way our stand won Best British Club Stand, handed out by Guy Martin. We are all very proud after all the hard work.

    Could walk about with the two of you all day. Great upload and great memories of a biking era gone by. Silly money for some of those 2-strokes from my teenage years, mind you! I should have held onto them! Chuckled when you showed Honda's little 50cc Express. My mother (now in her late 80's), owned one of those from new back in 1979 , in a very fetching canary yellow paint scheme, complete with basket! I had the 'pleasure/embarrassment' of riding it home for her from the dealers, much to the enjoyment and finger-pointing from local lads waiting at bus stops along the way!!! Both of you take care and thanks again.

    That yamaha fs1e bought back memories for me my older mate let me ride his to the cafe in kinver while he rode a bsa 175
    I was only 13 at the time. When I was of a legal age my first bike was a yamaha dt 80 mx so I passed my test as soon as possible then went and bought a honda CB 900, MADNESS back in those days when you were aloud to do this, lovely bike though blacktank with silver stripe down side and fitted with a harris 4 into 1 exhaust. I don't no how me or my licence survived I ended up with 11 points on my CV. Paid a visit to the triumph cafe today no wonder it's one of your favourites. It's proberbly 10 years since I've been to the Stafford classic show thanks for the video tour.

    • @Banditmanuk
      @Banditmanuk  2 місяці тому +1

      It's a wonder many of us made it through those early riding days in the late 70s early 80s. Some fast bikes, cheap insurance, easy to pass your test and no speed cameras.
      I certainly had my share of lunacy. Luckily I've got the calming influence of Carol when I'm riding the MT10 🤔
      That cafe does great coffee. Thanks for watching our Stafford wander.

    Hey guys, Steve here in New Hampshire. I need to apologize about the "subscribe" part but to share something. Your tour is brilliant. I especially like the banter and the still pictures that Carol takes. It seems that whatever topic, You Tube is just better with a couple involved. There is a certain drama that is built in. It's a real frustration about not being able to walk around some of the bikes. The club stands are guilty of packing way too many bikes into their small area and then covering with a canopy so no light gets in. We didn't try to even film some of them.

    Great stuff, not able to go this time so thank you for that. 16:30 Those are just like the panniers I mentioned in the last one on the back of that CBX, simple clip off and that carry handle on top turns them into small suitcases. Simple design. Aston Martin Brough Special, well first thoughts are they should stick to car designing! Beautiful you say, well that is very subjective but not a practical ride by any means certainly not any type of GT! Enjoyed that thanks again.

    I always question myself as a biker when I see these type of events. Although I've been riding bikes for 51 years (only owned one car for just 3 months) I have zero interest in these sorts of things. Some of them look nice and I fully appreciate the work involved in restoring them but I wouldn't wish to be lumbered with one. However, a definite talking point when mounted on a plinth in the lounge! I'll run away now so I don't get assaulted by real bikers! 😬

    • @Banditmanuk
      @Banditmanuk  2 місяці тому +2

      I think the actual riding is more important than owning in my opinion. It's why I sold my other bike. Saying that I do get the nostalgia thing that drives folks to buy bikes they owned in their youth.
      The guy I was chatting to on the Greeves stand could no longer ride but still loved showing his bike and got much pleasure from just attending the event.
      Most of our channel viewers are a friendly bunch, plenty of room for different opinions here. 😉

      I'm probably guilty of showing it less busy than it eventually got. We filmed as soon as it opened Saturday. I'm guessing Sunday may have been busier with the attraction of Guy Martin being there.
      The food stalls were certainly charging well, we bought lunch on our way home.
      I think the bigger issue is most folks attending were old, don't see many youngsters picking up the spanners. I think it may eventually get less busy.

    It gets worse every year.
    £20 on the gate per person, and £11.00 for a hot pork bun with a bit of apple sauce, won't wash with me, when many are struggling to live.
    I reckon that this show won't be around in a few years, if prices on the gate and food are not reduced.
    Even the autojumble is raped by the greedy traders, before the public get round, leaving only tat for the people who have paid ridiculous money to attend, and have something to eat.
    If this trend of greed carries on, it will end up like the Great Dorset Steam Fair..
    Gone forever, and all through sheer greed.

    • @Banditmanuk
      @Banditmanuk  2 місяці тому +1

      Yep, the cost is a big thing (we paid to enter like everyone else)
      I'm thinking with the age demographics of those attending, the numbers are going to reduce each year as I just don't see the interest from younger folk.
      We refused to pay those outrageous prices for those buns or burgers. We got a meal with drinks and fries from McDonald's on the way home for £15.00 for the two of us.
      What can be done about greedy traders? You see them at car boots buying anything decent at setup then putting them back up for sale.....
      At least I hope those not able to go to the show can get a feel for what it's like by watching the vids maybe???

      I won't be attending the September one either.
      I got in free last year, as I was a guest of an entertainer there, but still managed to waste £140 and came home with absolutely nothing.
      (Which didn't include the price for my transport there and back to North Wales.
      The greedy organisers would be much better off charging £10 per person with concessions for pensioners, and have the place buzzing, rather than almost empty.
      The caterers would also benefit too, if they charged reasonable prices for food.. but for what they charge, and what the gate charges it amounts to nothing except highway robbery.

      @@anythingoldmechanical If the Organisers couldn't make a profit, there wouldn't be a show. All the exhibitors in the main halls show at their own expense and effort. Sure we get wristbands for free entry, but we are there from very early morning, then home mid evening, for all 3 days. I live 60 miles away, so 360 miles for the weekend and about 80 quid's worth of diesel! So don't feel too hard done by. It was a great show.

      @@RichardASK I just hate to see people taken advantage of.
      As you say, with age demographics, the current generation have little or no interest in these type of events.
      Same as British bikes, people now are starting to have trouble getting decent money for them, as the people who had them in their teenage and early years are all dying off.
      People are now going for classic jap, with their performance and reliability.
      I think the organisers would of had a shock, when they counted the takings of this show, and also noticed a steeper decline in each annual attendance.
      The smaller shows are better, their gate prices are good, and very few become victims of their own success.

    Marvellous show & achingly gorgeous bikes galore. Kudos for excluding those made with Chineseium content, shouldn't be allowed in the building in my opinion. 👍 👍

      Yep. Brilliant show. It is the classic bike show, we shouldn't really have new bikes on show at least in the halls in my humble opinion
