Correction: this was from 4 years ago. I missed that part 🤦 NEW FITNESS VIDEOS:
www.youtube.com/@@ShaunJonesFitness
Shaun you left out the bit at the start where Alex says its from 4 years ago 😂 good analysis on the fight itself regardless
@@JimMcmiller637I didn't even get onto that! 🤦 Haha
No hard feelings. We love ya still.
Well. Love is a strong word.
This is old footage from 4 years ago. Still great sparring
yes you can see that alex has evolved through these years
Ah yeah makes sense, he's alot sharper now
Wow that's hard sparring. Maybe tomorrow a stretching and calisthenics day? lol
that was 4 years ago
Yessir I didn't catch that part. Makes sense as to why he looks that much better in other videos
Igor Ariel is the Brazilian heavy weight boxing champion for quite a while now. That sparring was at Combat Club in São Paulo. The Fighting Nerds headquarters.
Alex has a tendency to pull straight back with his head up. I could see that getting him into trouble with someone who’s willing to step forward with him and throw. But they’d also be leaving themselves open for a potential counter left.
if you notice bro he always tries to set up the left hook when they land the right straight, its the natrual counter
It’s different when kicks/knees are involved. In boxing it’s a bad habit but in muay/kickboxing it has its benefits
@@riskyonpc7010
bro
Boxing and kickboxing are two different sports and MMA and boxing/kickboxing are even further apart
Alex pereira is the most entertaining ufc fighter rn in my opinion
Seems like old footage, great strategy to release this pre khalil though, it shows Alex not at his best, this boxer was going really easy on Alex, he couldve finished him probably 10+ times... he wasnt pulling punches much, but he was letting Alex off with a lot!
Its certainly going to get khalils team thinking though, throwing in ideas either way...
Yeah it's 4 years ago. I didn't realise
bro, he couldnt of finished shit. Once he felt alexs pressure he started to worry a little bt. Really bad take from you bro
You could tell that Igor was being a very generous sparring partner. He’s clearly the better boxer. You could also tell that there were moments where Pereira saw opportunities to attack with kicks but had to actively not use them, which made him pause and have to recalculate. Very fascinating
This is definitely middleweight alex, Wonder how this would play out now since alex bulked up to light heavyweight
*I want to point out 99% of mma light heavyweights cant move their lower half as quick as igor here their all stuck in the mood by comparison this is another reason poatan has his way in fights*
ALEXANDER PERRIER MY FAVORITE CHAMPAGNE. (Only real OG shaun jones fans know this inside joke)
Noticed about Periera, however you spell his name, he's like a blank canvas at the beginning of each fight and slowly builds a picture until it all comes together.. And it was an uppercut. Don't add names to things that are already defined. It's not a call centre.
Damn... even Pereira's sparring is exciting to watch.
Alex’s striking is so much better now , it’s unreal how he improves at that age
Pereira should try to become a boxing champion next, the guy can do it all
Dangerous risky gunslinger techniques by Alex
12:57 dont say again bro😂😂
😂😂
Great chin
This is why pereria is so good, he can compete with high level boxers in straight boxing, but i guaruntee if you let alex leg kick, this guy looks like a complete ametuer
Of course it’s a totally different sport if u add in kicks lol
At any point alex can end this......wonder how the boxer feels if it gets real
ur glazing hard dude. alex is skilled but they were boxing and naturally its the boxers game. alex escalated the spar too out of frustration i assume.
World class kick boxer.
Dam hard shots they are.🥊🥊
0:33 you're hilarious 😂
Pereira doesnt take shots too the face, he attacks his opponents hands with his face
Looked to me Alex was just having a Harder time because in a Lot of the Situations he couldn't get off his 1-2 , He was Plausibly also Mentally fighting the Urge to throw Kicks , Elbows , Knees , Etc , Kinda hard to set your traps up when you can't use all your Usual Weapons.
Alex going up to fight Aspinall
would be a big mistake.
For Tom. Chama
Aspinall is very fast on his lower half so i actually agree but its still poasible alex wins.
Great vid here Alex. Makes no difference about how old it is, still some good sparring. How many lower leg bat kicks do you think Rountree can take before he folds? Check out how Alex throws those kicks, some he turns over and others he lands tow up. Interesting.
people used to give DC shit for his weird gurad he held (like a mummy lol)
arms straight out and slightly up but that shit worked great...
Any athlete that knows how to throw a hard punch can win but Alex beats Rountree 9 out of 10 times
7:58 i think Pereira is playing the mental game like sure you can hit me but that did nothing now im coming straight forward hiting someone with your best and they keep coming at you thats alot of pressure
Pereiara always spare hard and has that hand low style !
Pereriara might have a very good chin , but Joe Joyce used to eat bombs cause he had a granite chin , until his punch residence eventually went !
sparring like that day after day will take years off your life
Alex actually turns his head at the point of impact on purpose to give them confidence to through full power
I like this weekend isn’t even over and you’re already excited for the next one. Hey man, I am too.
great adjustment by pareira though. dudes such a warrior , ate all that and found his range. he was getting beaten on the outside so he started fighting close up and in that range its harder for a boxer to be as slick esp with a power puncher like pereira and u saw the difference. he started landing a lot more on the inside.
All Alex needs to do is throw a jab at the guys right ear he is dipping over to the left then throw the cross night night sweat heart great sparring though
Does anyone see the boxers head dipping to the right and staying there
Great sparring almost like a simulated fight intensity 👍👍
Boxing is supreme :D Love how this Igor guy is boxing
can tell its old because he's always in Venum gear when training now lol
Alex can box . Jake doesn’t want that smoke
Is Sean also forgetting Alex is a KICK boxer
Só pelo sotaque já vale um like 😊
Egor on thee floor…..BARZ!
I always get annoyed when boxers spar with mma dudes. Boxing is a cool sport. But it's not MMA. Whatever. Nice vid either way
Mma gyms sometimes bring boxers to train their prize fighter to sharpen their boxing not only boxing also bjj or muay thai specialist
And people say Alex has a glass chin
Blessing to watch them spar ❤❤❤
Alex makes micro head movements that deflect strikes or make them miss completely. Many of the shots you said “landed” were inconsequential. Not to mention they are still sparring. About 80%.
Exactly people see his head roll back when someone strikes amd people assume it hit him hard
Pereira's pressure is suffocating
Glorykilla coming bow and arrow man
16:35 , hard left , not a hard right
Jake Paul would KO him
This isn’t a spa it’s a 90% fight
If it was a real fight alex wins
The boy is good
Whatever it is this accent is completely unlistenable
As a Salfordian, I agree. Jokes 😁
first
Alex taking way too much unnecessary damage here. MMA fighters just can't compete with decent level boxers in boxing.
To be fair I think Alex has defensively improved since this footage.
He has stopped Brazilians at amateur championships in headguards...
Did you finish the vid mate alex lead the rest of the spar, i do agree boxers are better at boxing but mate...
@@erikbritz8095 also this was 4 years ago when he was just recovering from his drunk bar phase. He is much sharper now
@@extraterrestrialhorse9722 eh id still say most boxers would still tag him however be did do better iver time. Reason is MMA has a different distance when compared to mma. Was good sparring here though regardless.
That was refreshing to see. I like that Alex and his sparring partner had no issues sharing this. Good work from both athletes. 👏
Ich habe dieses Video bei der Arbeit gesehen und jetzt lachen auch meine Kollegen. Eine tolle Möglichkeit, die Stimmung im Büro zu heben💋
