    QOTD: What do you think of the simple two button design and the UPS feature that makes the AC stay on?

    I`ve been eating sardines, biscuits, potato flakes, ramen noodles, etc trying to get all the panels and parts needed to safely use my 300ah Ampere Time battery to save on my air conditioning bill this year. I`ve been using a 20 amp plug in charger with it and a 2000w inverter for power outages. I screwed up and ordered a 100 amp battery meter but couldn`t cancel the order so I`ll keep it to use with a future 100ah battery. They have little very simple to use in line 10 amp MPPT charge controllers so as I add more panels in the future each one will use its own. Redundancy. Plus they`re easy to use with my 100w and 120w folding panels with SAE adapter cables. On days when I need a boost I hope to have a practical solution in the future to get the battery charged very fast plus have enough solar wattage to use it earlier and later each day.
    By next month I`ll have everything wired up but the battery meter will have to wait because I need to order strawberry plants and fruit trees. My Bluetti EB70 came in handy during the freezing Winter storm. It easily powered an electric blanket. If I hadn`t accidentally put it on medium high it would have powered the electric blanket for three nights no problem. It still only used half the charge after 9 hours. I bought some Dash mini griddles and a waffle maker. They`re only 350 watts and work great for power outage cooking. We may be getting an internet upgrade in our region. Expensive though I heard. My upload speed now is only 300 kbps. Half what it was before. So to upload one minute of video takes 6 hours.

      Yikes @ those speeds. You think you could group up and get star link or are you still in an area where the people can't be trusted.

      @@AskIveSolar It`s no available here. I was gonna get it but when I heard I might have years...screw that. I don`t trust anybody around here. I have no patience left. If anybody steals from me again I`ll be in jail. You may be able to trust certain people but you never know who they might show up with. I didn`t want to move back to this region but had no choice. My nephew says we`re getting cable style internet soon. They`re burying the cables now. So I`ll try to get it. I`m sure the installation fee will be 3000 dollars though to run 1000 feet of wire to my lot. It`s always something totally ridiculous with these companies. I`m not getting scammed. I refuse.

      @@baneverything5580 From my understanding if you chose the "RV starlink option" it doesn't matter where you live to get the service. My dad and brother in law have the RV version and it's portable.

    Enjoyed the video, Ive. Excellent UPS feature with the AC inverter turning back on with the power coming back on. I can't believe other power stations don't do this! Only thing that I think could be better is the 60v limit. TIP about getting a close weight, weigh your self alone, then weigh yourself holding the power stations, then do the math for the difference. You'll get a pretty close weight of the power station.

    • @AskIveSolar
      @AskIveSolar  Рік тому +1

      Yeah they are killing me with the 50 and 60 volts. At least give me (like you said in your video) enough for 3 12v panels in series.
      Good idea about the weight. It crossed my mind. I also thought about just getting a little board or something to make a flat surface but I didn't bother.

    Good video. I wish it would let you adjust the charging power below 1200W so if you have small gas generator you can still charge it without overload the the generator, and if you have it plugged into the home AC outlets then you have to make sure you do not plug in other large load to the same home AC outlets.

    Great device, but it would have been nice to get the full 120. I'm definitely looking to adding a plug 🔌 for my furnace. I'm pretty sure it needs the full 120. But there are always tradeoffs. That design is on point though.

    • @AskIveSolar
      @AskIveSolar  Рік тому

      Agreed on the 120. I tried to see if I could power my furnace fan since it's gas but it's hard wired or something. I shot a video but never did anything with it.

      @@AskIveSolar It's definitely the easiest way as well as the safest to keep the heat on. I think we all have some alternative sources but I'd much prefer the central heating unit as long as the gas is still being pumped to homes. Honestly it's something I should have done by now. Buuuutt LoL 😂, that is a endless cycle of things on the to do list.

    Interesting device. I think I might be inclined to use it as a UPS, or to use during power outages. Rather than set up additional panels I couldn't use on another power station, I'd charge this one from the wall for emergencies. Will I get one? Maybe...thinking about another power station, which would be a big one.

      That AC staying on and turning back on is pretty cool. Would be nice if it had wifi then you could turn on dc remotely as well.

    Great review. You hit on most everything I wanted to know about this device. Do you think it would work well as a UPS for my sump pump while I am on vacation? I'm always worried about coming home to a flooded basement.

    • @AskIveSolar
      @AskIveSolar  Рік тому +1

      The joint does work but its my understanding that Sump pumps may have a high initial power draw or is that well pumps. LOL.
      Now one major benefits here is that when the joint has power from the wall, the AC turns on automatically which is probably the BEST reason to get this. Other power stations dont do this.
      As long as this can handle the power draw of your pump then I think it might be perfect for that reason above.

      I need to do an update on it. I don't like how it does solar. But I'd say it's better than my oukital for the most part.
      When powering an ac load (depending on the size) the solar no longer shows you how much is coming in. They say it's because that power is going directly to the load which is great but still show me the solar input coming in.

    • @AGilbert_81
      @AGilbert_81 Рік тому

      @AskIve Solar That would be great. I think I saw someone mention that about not seeing the input power. At the price point, I think I can live with few quirks.

      I like the 60v vs 50 but it's 6 one way 50v the other. Still can't quite get 3 panels in series.

      @AskIve Solar hmmm, just might have to pass.

    • @AskIveSolar

      But it can take in 20 amps. Now you won't get that per se from a panel unless your sun is banging but most PPS can only do about 12 to 15 amps. Which ain't bad because even if you put two 200 watt panels in parallel then you might get like 16 amps yanno.
