Great review thank you. The scale creep is a thing unfortunately. Many Joytoy W40K collectors are complaining about the same issue. Hopefully it scale creep will stop. But my biggest issue is that we have the smaller Blood Angels and Grey Knight terminators now. I don't really want to go and buy them all again if they are released in bigger sizes.....
It's possible because there were new Blood Angels terminators released as a part of the Space Marines Heroes Series 2 line in 2021? that were one of the first true scale marines, and it's very likely we'll see a refresh of Grey Knights eventually from GW. I do blame Joytoy for not accounting for the scale issues as a lot of these models already existed and they could have adjusted them. I am basically avoiding any normal marines from the 40K line unless they might be hero units released in the last few years. Guilliman and The Lion are weirdly scaled next to each other. I'm also not looking forward to buying them again in their 30K FW version and then having to eventually deal with the traitor Primarchs' FW 30K models, then their "ascended" model, and then their chaos 40K model for the ones that survived... The 30K line should be all mostly in scale as they were all made from the same push to true scale. The details and bits on their armor are also insane as most of them came from the ForgeWorld line. What I am really hoping for is either Joytoy or a 3rd party to release upgrade scale parts. A lot of the scaling issues could be fixed by adding a spacer to the torso or legs. These are the same issues a lot of the miniature community had to deal with.
I mean, canonically speaking, GKs should be shorter than the rest of the 40K lineup as all of them are Firstborn. I thought about waiting on a refresh for the GKs for my OCD regarding size difference, but the lore guy in me is satisfied as it is fine for them to be shorter. Any Primaris figures though would bother me and I’ve held off until they settle on a scale that works (which I think they’ve nailed now). I have Bobby G for my eventual Smurf army, but like I said, I’m holding off until they settle on size. Exception being the Honour Guard, they are already True Scale and are easily the coolest Marines out there in the lineup
The difference in height can partially be attributed to the figures they’re modeled after. The first set of Termies were all Firstborn set so they would be smaller, these are now Primaris in Terminator armor so naturally, them being bigger necessitates bigger figures in bigger armor. If you look up a picture of Guilliman with Agemman, Tigurius and Calgar, the height differences are pretty accurate with the action figures. Calgar is a Primaris in Gravis armor and his head is at Guilliman’s chest. The picture shows Agemman before he became a Primaris, so he’s still Firstborn sized in Terminator armor and is shorter than Calgar and about the same size as Tigurius in Mark X armor
I can quote you word per word about regretting having purchased Tigurius - the chief librarian really deserved a better painting from JOYTOY. I was even thinking in giving Tigurius this great terminator body ... XD Maybe we can give magic effects to the eyes, so we can make him look more "warp-y" and also hide the wonky eyes! Thanks for this detailed review - all in all he is the best terminator for these 10th edition new terminators IMHO!
im not a fan of tigurius as well. the head space looks so comical. so much bigger than the model kit had. tigurius figure is very mid. i still prefer the 1st librarian even though it is very janky.
The knees bend further than that. They are capable of just short of 90 degrees. There's a trick, though: you have to keep the lower knee joint straight or straighten as you go. All of the bend should come from the upper hinge alone. If you try to involve the lower hinge, the lip of the lower leg armor blocks the joint, which is what you experienced. You kind of have to wiggle it, but the range is there.
It's mostly because Joytoy is just working off the original miniature models from Gamesworkshop. Joytoy started their line with the older models that often had weird proportions. Over the years Gamesworkshop has tried to slowly fix that with a continuous increasing scale creep towards "true scale" with every new space marine release for each edition. Caesaran is basically from the Terminators released 20 years ago from 4th Ed., and the newest terminators including the Librarian is from 10th Ed. Leviathan box set released just last year as a part of the refresh for terminators. I think at this point Joytoy has basically caught up with most of the releases so moving forward we should see a slowdown in the scale creep. I think the recently major adjustment is they had to deal with was normalizing the scale between Primaris and normal marines. My original Primaris joytoys looks tiny next to the newer releases!
@@ac-studio It's unlikely we'll have any major updates to the existing Necron models or scaling issues. GW already released a bunch of new models starting from 7th Ed. We had the biggest updates in 2020 with the release of the Indomintus box set in 9th Ed. that saw new Necron models and refresh of most of the core older models.
I think that the increase in the size of the figure is due to the fact that the miniatures from the new Terminator box are larger. And I would like to see this librarian in comparison with Arjac Rockfist
Tigerius is the most important librarian to have in my collection due to the lore. That being said, this librarian in terminator armor is bad ass! My only gripes are the paint in the eyes and the scale creep. A little paint will fix the eyes. I'm not one who minds a little scale creep, but even I have my limits. This guy is too tall
yep i told Awesome action toys the eyes are bad abdomen is to long the normal primaries terminator are good the library is taller told you v4 primaries intercessor coming

Yeah same here... I don't want to buy them all again.. otherwise I will reduce my spending for more Joytoy...

Because the manufacturer just wants to get more money out of you, plain and simple.
I just bought my first figure yesterday. Fists Preator. Interesting to learn about long timers complaints about size

why does the indominatus pattern have a slouching version and a straightback version then

No proble! Thanks for the advice and I will have a try!.

The second edition of librarian is the one in the game tacticus, love this terminator lib I want it too but too expensive for me.😢😢 Nice video Sir
Thank you so much for your support! I hope you will get it! It is value for money!
I think that the increase in the size of the figure is due to the fact that the miniatures from the new Terminator box are larger.
And I would like to see this librarian in comparison with Arjac Rockfist
But how did the Deatwing Terminators end up so large. They are based on old miniatures pre 10th edition
This was an oddly suggestive video!

u have to try space marine ver 4.0, he’s also tall, taller than 3.0 space marine and the proportions is really great tho.
Tigurius is probably one of the most powerful librarians in the 40 K universe just so you know
Regular terminators vs Primaris marine in terminator armor.
How does that compare to the Horus Heresy terminators? I guess pretty much the same size.
Yes same height also
Will you review the Justaerin?
I haven't got that figure unfortunately
I like the video ,but not the increased size! Thanks!
haha same here!
All that cool paint and details yet he has wonky eyes.🙄
hahaha
So it's just like the minis. More important people are taller.
His face looks terrible, you need to print him a helmet. Congratulations on the addition to your collection.
haha thank you!
yep i told Awesome action toys the eyes are bad

the normal primaries terminator are good the library is taller
told you v4 primaries intercessor coming
Cheers. 😎
