If you put firebombs in your game, I WILL find you. And I will burn your world to the ground.
GRIME is very quickly becoming my favorite metroidvania. If you haven't tried it out, I would highly recommend it - the (free) new DLCs have breathed even more life into this game.
GRIME has several consumables. But I have no idea what they do, how they work, or if they're even any good. Several of them are firebomb-type weapons though.
You know what we have to do.
Can you beat Grime with only consumables, and without parrying? Time to find out.

I found it free on Epic and it looked cool so I thought i'd play it. Still haven't gotten around to id but the backlogs uploaded it so its the perfect time.

This game was so good and strange and sad. Shindra knows it can't beat you, not for good, but it'll fight to give everything a few more moments, it really makes me cry. Thanks for giving this game more attention, and for the cool challenge run!

Last thing I expected out of this video was that absolutely legendary Alphard quote
Bowdaggers were what I beat my first run with. They're amazing, and paired with the buffs that refill stamina and having high resonance , I parried and zoomed my way through it. The most impressive run I've seen though, was lantern only. It basically ran through bosses like you did with DS scythes
I have a suggestion if you ever encounter a similar situation where you need to force unlimited consumables: Rather than giving 999, or making them free to purchase, or having them restock... How about you have to collect/purchase them as normal, but if you hit an enemy, the game registers that damage and "refunds" the consumable? That way you're still in danger of running out if you only have 3 knives and you happen to miss with all of them -- But your consistency is rewarded and keeps the run alive.

Hi lemon you inspired me to do a challenge run in ffx 2. It took me 5 minutes until I realized it was futile and wanted to end all of existence so I appreciate your immolation run so much more now lol.
Certain enemies with grey health or a white glow can’t be absorbed, only repelled. Repelling doesn’t do damage. (This would’ve trivialized so much of this challenge) Also it’s great to see you play Grime again! (Also you called Nerveroot Nervepass and I don’t blame you.)
I loved so many on your runs and so does my son your the reason he has joined the dark souls community- he wouldn't stop using firebombs cause firebombs are life for him- but thanks for all your amazing content cNt wait for the next video
I got DS Remastered because of you and I loved 2 and 3. I beat the game with knowledge I gained from all toyr challenge runs and, didn't know beating Gwyn kicked me into NG+ instantly. So I beat the DLC on NG+

I've been doing Blasphemous, and it just doesn't feel as good. It's like Grime succeeds in what Blasphemous tries to do in terms of story, atmosphere, and gameplay. There's more nuance to the religious fanaticism, more beauty and bittersweet moments found in the midst of horror, a more unique take on the subject matter, and a much smoother experience overall.
im loving the tales of the firebomb universes, especially the call back to when papa bear destroyed the world of xcom in the name of the firebomb godess

Giant of eyes is incredibly easy if you parry him, but with you not being able to do that, it seems way more difficult

fun face: in new game plus. there a bird in the teeth area. if you buy the 2 point hunter keep them and after another newgame+, you will make a glitch of having unlimited hunting points
i found this glitch by myself while i try to get skins until it stops

The Wiki issue is also prevalent in Pronty which is another Metroidvania, although it's an aquatic creature called Pronty and his robot swordfish companion trying to save humanity

I could never back out of the destruction of the world. Because if I gave up half way, then what was the point of killing everyone innocent? Their deaths have to have ment something!
When it comes to stuff like cheating consumables, I alaays was add in some made up sidequest or checklist I have to complete to unlock an "infinite merchant" (cheating in the item). It could be like I have to gather 10 of said consumable and trade them with a specific merchant to unlock unlimted stock. Sometimes I'll even throw in some of my own personal lore just to spice it up.

Oh, hey, suddenly the low completion rates on Giant of Eyes and Flower Heart make WAY more sense. I didn't realize so much of what I played was post launch content!

Hey Lemon, could you perhaps try to do challenge runs for Ender Lilies? I legit had 2D(even 2.5D) sidescrollers, but Ender Lilies is really the only one that I've ever liked.
Having watched this video I was reminded of your previous grime video, and this is not intended as a gripe or to call you out, but the first obstacle you ran into that you couldn't get past, a pot with arms. You can land on the very edge of the platform and dash through, making that kill avoidable. It doesn't change anything but I thought I'd let you know

Any chance we'll see a Remnant 2 consumables only run at some point? I know it'll probably be hell, (especially since scrap can be a pain to come by and you'll need a lot), but it'd be interesting to try. Especially since you can grab the Alchemist class right from the beginning if you start in the right area, (or at game start if you found it on another character), and use that to increase the duration of buffs. You could also stack it with medic, giving you a ton of survivability, and both classes have a passive buff to all damage. I haven't tested that, but it might work to increase the damage of grenades.

Perhaps it is nothingness, and we are doomed.
Perhaps it is a light incomprehensible to mankind or whatever state of being we take hold.
It is a fruitless task to ask and do nothing.
Take up the firebomb. The way could be treacherous.
Take up the stick. The way could be hard on two legs alone.

Have yall noticed in the final part of the game where you collect all those yellow orb things in the text that pops up there are Hebrew words written in english? Like koev it means hurts
For example at 28:29 kore means happening, 28:32 bilti nimnah means unstoppable and at 28:41koev means hurt
