So you made a video about the projector that came in last place at the ust shootout and made it a point to say how you weren’t impressed with the winner? Was this a sponsored video?
It looks like a sponsored video but without the disclaimer. I’ve had both the awol (returned 2 units for dead pixels) and then got the formovie which was obviously much better to my family and me
There is no way that you loved the Samsung LSP7t and weren’t impressed with the Formovie. That whole part of your video is obviously what AWOL told you to say. 👎
@@cordcuttercam perhaps you and Zack think so, but the way he made this video call his credibility into question. He should have just stuck to his lines about AWOL instead of calling out other superior projectors that he doesn’t sell and pretending that he wasn’t impressed
Having seen them both side-by-side we both agree. It wasn’t that the Formovie wasn’t impressive. We both agreed it didn’t look quite as good as the AWOL
@adamguy6454 you must own the formovie not a bad unit. Congrats. And actually Formovie wanted us to carry their product, and we didn’t really want to carry more and more UST’s and be come saturated with options. Try and have a good day
@GR-jq2qp exactly. Why even bring it up in this video unless it’s what AWOL told them to say or that they are just mad that Formovie doesn’t let them sell it.
I had the awol and had to return it twice for dead pixels. Their support was obnoxiously rude and I ended up just getting my money back and buying the formovie theater instead. The formovie was much better and had great black levels where the awol was a murky grey. I do wish that the formovie was brighter but it’s easily worth the trade off for the better image and a better company. I don’t understand how Zack would think that the Formovie wasn’t impressive. Is it because he doesn’t sell it? This whole video is just a sales announcement about carrying awol. I did not buy it from awol, the store I bought it from replaced the first unit and refunded me the second. When I did contact awol for help, they were rude. I am glad that I didn’t give them a third chance.
Dead pixels seem to be a common problem with the AWOL as is their rude support. Be careful of what you say online if you own their projector, they have been banning people from their support group for asking questions or criticizing them.
@@jaychannel8558should they get a pat on the back for doing the bare minimum required by dealing with defective units while being rude to a customer? @@FooFighter33 I would enjoy reading your impressions of the Dolby Vision update when you are finally allowed to post them. Is it a noticeable improvement to picture quality and wide color gamut? Thanks for being a beta tester.
Waiting for Dolby Vision reviews on this before making my decision. For me, Dolby Vision is a MUST HAVE option to play my DV 4K UHDs. Considering the Hisense New 2023 PX2-PRO UST Projector for my home theater set up. No 3D but I can live without it. Just want the widest color gamut I can possibly get. Hisense has HDMI 2.1 ports while AWOL only has HDMI 2.0b ports which could be a hindering of future proofing capability.
@@afr1952That won't matter because the Hisense will never get 8k or 4k/120hz capability. It's a hardware problem, no update can ever fix. There's nothing in these DLP UST's that can take advantage of HDMI 2.1. The benq V5000i can take in 4k/120hz signal but spits out 60fps, which doesn't make sense.
@@afr1952If you're setting up a dedicated theater room, I would try and demo the Formovie Theater. It has 3000:1 contrast which is great, no 3d. Now 24p movie handling I'm not sure. That's a UST projector with 1 laser source and color wheel, like the Samsung Premiere LSP7T, not to compare with a real RGB laser source. But the review from a french site, was quite positive about the Philips U5.

I have the awol 2500 and my full SVS 7.2.4. I’ve also solved the center channel placement issue. Bad ass picture quality at 100 inches with finally Dolby vision and 3d support
How did you solve it? I'm holding off buying one until I can figure out how to place my Nakamichi Dragon soundbar system right below the screen without interfering with the laser's light path.
