Trouble is, it is the midges home, and you are the guests! I hate them as well that is why I now wear a bug net around my head. Suffer for days afterwards if not. Well done for braving it!

Great video I've been to that waterfall years ago I must have a revisit and check it out again. What a stunning location for a wild camp just shame about the unwanted guests apparently they don't like the smell of mint so if you suck on some mint imperials or chew some gum they will stay away from you. Give it a try next time and see how it goes. Love the channel.
To go out into the beautiful countryside and get chewed up is not the fun restful experience you want. If you do not like the bug repellents (some hate them) than get peppermint extract.
We had some sketaline which worked great for us in asia, but they didn't seem bothered. Maybe peppermint is the way to go as you say 😊🙌
