    A good trick Dodger to install springs is to bend the spring & place washers in the gaps of the coils. Do this both sides, it extends the spring & makes fitting easy.

      mezzler1 I always keep a container of
      old one cent coins in the workshop for spreading springs

    I engineered a solution for the spring. I used a very large Channel Lock pliers and it worked great. One jaw on the bottom of the foot that will be hitting on the ground and other jaw (on the tip) on the "J" portion of the spring. It needs to be about 6 inches of span to do this. I just happen to have a large Channel Locks plier that did have more than needed. The mechanical advantage squeezing the plier stretched the spring and just move the spring over the peg on the stand. It took me 4 tries to make adjustment to be able to move the spring over the peg but I was done in under one minute.

    We are very lucky here in Bali, the Versys X Tourer comes standard with central stand, ABS, crash bars, Panniers, fog lamps, and 12v power outlet, but we loose 50cc, it is downgraded from 300cc 40hp to 250cc 34hp to avoid luxury taxes

    Excellent job Mate, I have a GSX S 1000 and there are no center stands available, I would love one as they are so useful. Thank you for sharing. Great video, stay safe and take care.

    Good video. I'm amazed the bike wouldn't come with the centre stand already installed.

      My exact thoughts. I suppose Kawasaki want to make up some profit on accessories.

      Yeah. Hardest part of the installation. Had a helping hand from my son.

    you can ride with both installed...kick stand AND center stand? You don't have to remove kick stand?

      Both stands stay on the bike and work independently

    Hiya... Did you happen to look at the SW-Motech stand? Seems like a bit better deal...

    • @DodgerMohr
      @DodgerMohr  2 роки тому

      No I didn’t. But then the centre stand was given to me from Kawasaki when I bought the bike as part of the deal but installation was not included. Weird! Anyway I managed to install with only one issue…the spring.

      @@DodgerMohr Nice one... I like the powder-coat finish on yours. The ones in the States are all glossy. Fair dinkum!

    One question: how much ground clearance do you think you lost under that lowest point(the shock linkage)?

    • @DodgerMohr
      @DodgerMohr  3 роки тому

      Not exactly sure but it is the Kawasaki stock stand & sits well away when not in use.

      @@DodgerMohr Thank you
      Just a quick look underneath the bike and you can see if it’s now become the lowest hanging part under the bike or is that linkage is still sticking out lower?
      I would like to add it to my bike but only if it’s not hurting ground clearance any further.
      Best wishes from the promised land 🇮🇱🇮🇱

      @@BlazinBlades Just got back from camping with the Mrs. Back home now, looked at the bike with the stand up, the shock linkage which is the stock standard is about 2cm lower than the centre stand when not in use. So it is well tucked away. No effect to ground clearance.
