The art is better quality, the sfx are much more thought out, the plot progresses much faster without losing content, the voice actors are really good and the fights are much better looking. You sir are suffering from a hard case of nostalgia if you think the new one is worse.

it didn't get cancelled in its prime, when it caught up to the manga it stopped at an arc end. everytime the manga went ahead again it made an ova for another arc till eventually enough manga was made and time passed for an entire reboot to be made.

I prefer THS battle by far ! The 2011 one was nice, but this one has a much colder and bleaker atmosphere... and you just cant top Hiroki Takahashi s acting when it comes to Hisoka ! He had the right amount of malice and subtlety , Daisuke s is fine but he feels monotonous way too ham fisted especially with the excited moments. Hiroki s intonation switches perfectly from collected and the excitement of Hisoka HERE is CHILLING and SUBTLE making him scarier. Just my 2 cents

Besides the eyes, they look quite a bit like real people; I lose myself in what is going on and forget that it's not actually a documentary of something happening on the other side of the world. The 2011 anime is so heavily stylized that I'm constantly being reminded that I'm watching a cartoon show. I know that fits the manga designs better, but I still don't like it.
1999 version is a lot better than 2011. you can feel the tension, thrill and horror in the 99 version. the 2011 animators are just like: Our job is just to animate the manga, we don't care if it's good or what as long as we're getting paid

I really hope the author in the end lets Gon and Hisoka fight. Granted that might not be for a long time. However once Gon is stronger that fight most likely will be insane.

@harmonyXsuzukaze Why cant we compare the two? Its because they are different that allows people to compare them. Which characters are designed (both graphically and personality) better? or which story unfolds in a more interesting way? You cant compare something thats the same, or you would just be comparing clones. And I like both as well, but I like HxH more because of various different things it does.
The remake is fine, I just wished they kept some of the "fillers". Because some of those I didn't noticed as fillers, and I lol'd at most of it. Well, at least and hopefully they with animate pass the Green Island Arc.

It is like you are in backwards land. The tension is so much greater in 2011. Just look at Gon's first landed punch on Hisoka.
The only horror I feel is that art quality. Nearly had a heart attack seeing this after the 2011 version.
