Its a shame that even after all these years, animation still hasn't really had any serious projects released in the main stream. At least in the west. And certainly in the UK and US.

I would watch a 2D animated movie every single time over a 3D animated one, there's just something so much more natural about 2D animation, especially hand-drawn. I've only ever enjoyed Pixar movies as much as cel animation, but mostly just the old classic Pixar.

"The Little Island" is quite a bit like McCracken's works, though the pace is pretty plodding by comparison.
Was the clip that I criticized in part 1 for the film which eventually became "Thief and the Cobbler?" (Thought I heard someone say "Nasrudin") If so, MAN that movie went through a helluva genesis!
Regardless, thanks for yet another fascinating obscurity! Dunno how you guys keep digging this stuff up!

The animation at the beginning reminds me of Craig Mc.Cracken's(the guy who created the Powerpuff Girls & Fosters Home for imaginary friends oh & Wander over Yonder). animation

Its called "limited animation". It was a style developed by UPA.

Only 2 parts? I was hoping this would go on longer. I like Richard Williams documentaries. Oh well.

The girl that he drew at 12:08 looks alt like Belle from Beauty & The Beast.

7:00 I'm pretty sure my wife would get annoyed with me after a while if I did this to her all the time.
