The purple dragon ornament unlocked a young kid memory and I am exceptionally stoned so I will attempt to describe. When I was young Me and My dad would visit an old family friend who lived by the laundry mat. She was a full blown hippie gal in her 40's and honestly the nicest person I have ever met. Her house was honestly something that felt like out of a story, it was a small house with two bedrooms and a livingroom mixed with a kitchen. Decorating the entire place was various knicknacks and statues. A lot of the statues were in the exact style of that purple dragon. There was various types of Mythical animals found in old school high fantasy. There was Dragons, Unicorns, and even a random Buff Barbarian riding a dragon that I thought was super sick. On the ceiling of the bedrooms were a bunch of thin cloth banners or sorts pinned loosely flat so you could see the full pattern and various fantastic scenes. Some were of random colors tie-dyed together, others were Grateful Dead album art, then some had plain colors to really bring a contrast to the sight. The house had a small lil back area, that since the house was built on the edge of a hill by a river was remarkably steep. There was empty chicken cages, that had never been used. Leftover from the original owner I would think. My family friend was full on Vegetarian and wouldn't want to cage up some chickens. She also had the start of an amazing Garden in her front yard. That was where me and my dad would spend most of the time, honestly mostly just doin yardwork. Clearin dirt pathways for Irrigation we ended up making, diggin a nice hole to create some French drains for the paths we made by the tool shack so it would not get flooded out. Clearing some weeds and moving heavy pots full of soil, various hardlabors that we didn't want her trying to do since our friend had a bad back. I miss being able to see her, but life carries on. As all things are, you have to keep working towards a future that you want to create. Dwelling on what was will only limit your own ability to improve. So keep your eyes forward and make that future a reality and actually step towards what needs to be done. Oh and be sure to have a good time while doing it, after all what kind of idiot wouldn't want to be happy?
