I agree completely. I have no idea how I missed this movie years ago. I LOVE true stories and Miki’s was one with telling. What a remarkable woman to have come through all of those challenges. Funny how she and Whitney had similar backgrounds and behavior/habits. Sadly that her powerful voice was NEVER recognized as much as Nippy’s. In any case, I admire Miki Howard for telling her OWN story before others try to after death. She was completely transparent. That’s the most admirable thing about it. It’s her telling her own truth about the highs and lows. Who are we to judge? I think she’s gained some additional following/fans with her tell all story. That voice is a gift from GOD.🙌🏽🙏🏽 The black balling was awful. Hollywood is so silly. Hell if I had the means, I’d be recording music by all of the sophisticated ladies from back when. Most still have very nice voices…Miki, Chaka, Gladys, Stephanie Mills, Anita, Regina Bell and Terri from En Vogue. Talk about an old school concert tour for the ladies. Yes, what a wonderful line up!!!

I would've never known that she or Chaka Khan were addicted to drugs. And because she told the truth and didn't 'sugarcoat' her experiences, I love and respect her even more. As the movie depicted, her mother and other loved ones played a major role in her addiction. In addition to the many relationships she had with men. Not trying to justify her decisions but we never know what will lead us to destruction and dereliction. OK, I'm not going to write a book about her life. But I just wanted to share my thoughts and feelings. I love and admire you, Miki Howard, for sharing your story and giving others hope and encouragement. And I love every song you made. Especially, "Love Under New Management", and "That's What Love Is".
