The different colored symbols are the Mana colors. Black (skull), Blue (water), Red (fire), White (sun), Green (tree). Those represent what Mana type a card is depending on what Mana is required to play them. Mana is the resource you use to play cards or use card abilities. The arrow symbol means you "Tap" or turn a card sideways to activate an effect. So if a card has 3 Black mana symbols followed by the Tap symbol, that means you have to Tap 3 Black mana and that card to activate the effect. Planeswalkers are like powerful characters who can travel between the various planes of existence in the game's universe. There are so many awesome looking cards. I could collect them just for the art alone and not even play the game haha.
