There's nothing new under the sun. Movies that became hits had radio plays with often the same actors on screen voicing their characters on radio. Humphrey Bogart and James Cagney did it all the time.
Lorre did his part for AFRS audiences by hosting "MYSTERY PLAYHOUSE". Occasionally, Howard Duff would act as the program's announcer {as "Sergeant X"}.
We now know that thorium is not a "radium salt," but a separate element, with its own atomic number, and its own listing in the periodic table of elements,
John Archer was in movies an early TV like Perry Mason, was only the Shadow for a season until Bret Morrison finished his WW2 military service. He was the father of actress Anne Archer. He was in the only Elvis movie I liked, Blue Hawaii.
These are great listening, esp. on a Fall afternoon!
Great sound quality! Really love these shows, thanks for uploading!
This was a surprise; Peter Lorre being a guest speaker on this episode.
Such tricks are still used to this very day.

The first episode of Inner Sanctum that I ever heard was a Mystery Playhouse, with the 'good evening creeps' opening, but not with Peter Lorre.
