Awesome finds Ray! Geez, copper after copper after copper. Plus a half reale! As you would say, "Let's go!". Happy to see this new video out there and hope for many more in 2025. Is your new machine gonna be by Minelab? I don't think I've seen you with anything other than the Nox 800 with the green trim on it. Whatever permission you are on, somebody sure lost some change there. Did old clothes have crappy pockets back in the 1700 and 1800s which led to so much coin loss? I could see a farmer getting jostled by his horse/oxen when plowing but you'd think they wouldn't have carried any money in their old farming clothes. Have a Happy New Year with good health and happiness and Happy Hunting!
@@olddude1953 appreciate you tuning in my friend thank you for the comment,,, I actually went with a New Brand and bought the XP Deus 2,, the Minelab Manticore is a good machine dont get me wrong, but the problem lies with deep iron and deep rusty nails and stuff, when youre out there in the field , obviously theres lots of nails, and the minelabs cant really distinguish between a deep nail and a deep target worth digging, so very often a deep nail will have a great signal to it, forcing you to dig it, only to find out its a rusty nail, fun for a few times, aggravating after a long day of it haha, so the XP machines are alot better in that type of scenario, and i cant wait til i can get out with the new machine, hopefully some woods soon, or ill have to wait til spring, not exactly sure yet, wish I could get out and make videos a lot more often but,, between work and just life I have no time to really get out but I'm hoping to change that soon,, As far as why theres so much stuff out there is well for one, that was a ferry crossing since 1633, so if you can imagine, people going down there and just even making their way to there to cross the river, alot of people were down there if you figured that's the only spot to cross the river at the time for many years,, also those are farm fields for years and years since easily the early 1700s maybe even earlier so people out there dropping their coins dropping their pay having buttons and buckles ripped off, or falling off just from getting old whatever it might be, and yes they say that pockets were a lot more shallow way back, I don't know if you ever seen a large scent but they are a little bit bigger than a American quarter and a lot heavier so people sit down or whatever with those in their pocket they're just going to fall out,, I'm sure there's many other scenarios which caused them to drop their coins but as you know, money was a lot more important to people back then, especially the seeded dime and the half reale I found,, even the copper pennies were very special to people back then I just wish they came out of the ground a lot better!! Really hope you had a great holiday and Happy New Year to you my friend,, Take Care☘️ Ray
@@413MassDigger Thanks for the explanation Ray, that sounds like you did your research to find that ferry crossing and it's paying off. Yeah, I've found large cents up here in Maine, but not that many, although I did find an 1819 largie in my front yard a few years ago. This being an old homestead, I've found and dug more nails and iron crud over the years than I care to remember. I hope in 2025 to get out to a new permission or two but health issues have limited my searching somewhat but I think I'm finally past those. I hope the Deus II works out for you, I use the Nokta Legend and also have a Nokta Simplex and I think my wife would divorce me if I bought another detector, but maybe Lady Luck will smile on me and I'll be able to buy a Deus some day. @@tomjourneysadventures7021 appreciate you my friend, thanks for tuning in, Hard to tell what my best find is to be honest, so many over the years, if youre talking about this particular video, it would have to be the 1781 Reale, if youre talking overall favorite finds theres just too many but i can tell you of a couple/few different ones,,, of course anything colonial is a big favorite of mine, i love colonial relics so shoe buckles ive found are pretty special, of course colonial buttons ,buckles anything of that nature, i also love finding old class rings that ive returned to people, its fun finding them, then researching where they are now ,or if i can get ahold of any family of the owner, of course if theres enough info on the ring to be able to return, like initials, and a year of graduation etc etc, ive found a few that havnt had no initials on them so obviously i cant get those back to a owner,, but overall love finding old coins too, the older coins the better, and having a couple Fugio cents under my belt, and a Nova Constellatio are all very special, being the first coins of the US ya know? I could go on and on of favorite finds haha, sometimes ill find one of a kind things, or special buttons ,like the Mass Militia button ive found, knowing that came off a Soldier in the early 1800s was pretty neat to think, i love all the history aspect of the hobby, and each find makes me think of the What and Who's, who may have dropped this and how they must of felt realizing they had lost their ring or if they must of looked for it and never found it, when i hunted the old drained lake here in Springfield, (i have like 3-4 vids of it) i found some pretty special finds in the ole lake mud, that blew my mind, one being a gold band, looked like a wedding band, but it was tiny, like maybe for a woman ? Or a guy with tiny fingers haha, anyways it had a date of like 1835 or something close to that if i remember correctly with some initials on the inside, that was pretty neat to find, id imagine whoever was quite upset to lose that, like if they were fishing in a boat and it slipped off? It was out fairly deep in the water so maybe swimming? And it fell off? Or they got mad and threw it out there? Haha either way,i was happy to find it!!! Hope you had a great Christmas and Happy New Year to you my friend,☘️ thanks again!!! HH-Ray
Nice verity of coins. I’m so glad that our ground doesn’t freeze like that. The luxury of living down south. I have a 6” coil as well. Really like it. Does me well. When did you stop selling for a certain individual.
Thanks for the show. (Slightly) Frozen Finger Syndrome is a small cost to pay to pursue the things one loves. Will have my work cut out for me come Spring Thaw. Finally got permission to prospect a site SW NYS: A (Southwest bound road) TOLL HOUSE/Dry Goods store site occupied mid-1700s-to-1812; burned by the British and obscured by overgrowth over 200 years. Sublimation in the past 5-years (heavy snow and meltdown) revealed the foundation. A "bit" of searching... Matches description in a letter written by one of the particulars (a female), from the safety of a "redoubt" around Springville, NY. Can't wait... It's on private property. The owner (a History "Buff") is as excited as I am. I'll park it for a week on site in a guest house. Documentation is a must. Take care. And Thanks again.

Wow! Great to see you back, Ray. I was getting worried! Congrats on that half Reale. I will never find one of those in Minnesota. Are you going with a Manticore? Or a Deus?
@@StivNagen trust me it bothers me only getting videos out once every couple months I wish I could do them more often but between work and just life in general , its really hard getting out there, Things will change for the better soon, and ill definitely be out more often, really appreciate you tuning in, and leaving me a comment, it means a lot !!
Hope your holidays are great, and Happy New Years to you and your family, I went with a Deus2, unfortunately the manticore although its a great machine, they love the deep iron, beautiful signals end up being deep nails and stuff, and thats typical with every minelab, including the Manticore, ive heard lots of feedback from customers, they all say the same, The Deus2 is amazing in the iron, and have better ways of distinguishing between deep iron, and deep good signals,, take care of my friend, hope your holidays are awesome and Happy New Year to you!! ☘️Ray
Awsome finds thanks for taking us along great video
@@timb.162 Appreciate you tuning in, Have a great New Year!! Thanks for the comment!! ☘️HH-Ray
As always, I enjoy your videos for the cool finds you make and your genuine attitude that I can relate to! Happy Hunting in 2025, Jim
I love that reale bud!! You're killing it on this video!
Aweome finds Ray!!
Well done Ray! Seated silver, coppers , a half reale and plenty of relics! My type of location! Im going to guess your getting a nox 900 or deus ll . Your friend had a killer few days as well!
@@darbysdownhomedetecting appreciate you tuning in brother thanks for the comment,, Yea i actually went with the Deus2,, i love the minelabs dont get me wrong, but they just love the deep iron, some amazing signals end up being iron, and its aggravating as all heck lol, the D2 is great being able to distinguish between deep iron and deep non-ferrous targets, so i couldnt pass up the machine, like I said in the video I will use the Minelab every now and then, Also i have a different friend who swings the 900 its a good machine too but again, youll hear him getting aggravated over the deep nail signals sounding good, so best thing to do was get the D2,, hope your holidays were great, hope you have a Happy New Year as well,, Good luck out there ☘️Ray
Great finds

Was that a GW BUTTON??
Awesome
Pretty sure your first copper said Auctori which would make it a Connecticut copper. Nice digs fellas!
Great job on finding those large cents.
Hope you had a great Christmas, Ray. Found a lot of coppers this time. What's your best find yet?
HH-Ray
Love the knee buckle
New Sub from Australia, 🇦🇺 I like history and hunting so I popped into watch. Cool vid, I’ll watch some previous vids of yours next 👍🦘Brun

Some nice digs ray ! 💯 best of luck in 2025 👍
I'm guessing you are going to go with the manticore. I like the deus 2 better because I like to go by tones and not watching the screen. I hope you get the deus 2!
Nice I have the Manticore with the 9” coil and love it also my D2 with the 9” killer machines I just hit a 1/2 Reale on the Ct river today it was holed had 3 holes in it??? it hit at 42 on my and a 1950 Washington the 9” is my favorite I do not like those elliptical coils
If I’m water detecting I prefer my manticore hands down the D2 is nice but not my preferred for water hunting and I’m out all year on the water here in Ct
Manticore 1199 $$

Half reale
happy holidays Ray Ray; good to see some good HOLE-some dirty video from you again; even though you are hanging out with some cling-on who is subhuman or impervious to cold lolol
the D2 will frustrate the F out of you for awhile; and then you will slowly learn its sweet nuances and she is a monster but has her finicky ways in certain settings.
i have found that hitting a site thoroughly with BOTH my Manta RAY RAY and my D2 gets virtually everything;
it blows my mind how much shit is still in the ground in 2024 with these incredible machines;
i am over 300 silvers again this year and people have been hitting the spots i frequent for the better part of 50 years already with every machine ever invented!!
lets line a few things up for this spring and i will come up to see a Bruins game and we will go tear it up!
I moved on from the equinox 800 for a deus2 and it was hard at first, but after learning the deus, I sold all my minelab stuff. I love how the pin pointer rings in the headphones and the depth is awesome.
@@gasmandl yeah I ended up doing the same thing,, i bought the D2 and it came with the MI6 pointer,, The minelabs love the Deep Iron, amazing deep signal sound like coins but end up being deep nails,, i was gonna try the Manticore, and glad i didn't because everyone i talk to who owns one either sold it for a D2 or still complains about the Deep Iron sounding great, theres no doubt the D2 was the right choice,, don't get me wrong I love my mind lab and I will continue to use it now and then,, But i already know its gonna be hard to put the D2 down, really appreciate you tuning in and leaving me a comment,, I hope your holidays were great and Happy New Year to you, Good luck out there☘️Ray
