Shame that locals cannot afford to live in their place of birth anymore. Maui is a beautiful place that has been ruined by overdevelopment. To many real estate profiteers.
Yep lived there for 18yrs just left, my kids were born and raised, my parents and brother are leaving too. Going to the big island, getting priced out.

Funny thing...that mid-century-mod you guys went into in Kihei, I found it on MLS, then spent a couple days thinking about it. Then woke up one morning and it was under contract. I was so use to seeing places stay listed for weeks or even months, I didn't think that could happen. That one went fast.
With the market shifting and homes experiencing longer DOM I get how your experience could be surprising. But then again, Hawaii’s housing market is what it is 😅 Find any alternatives?
@@movingtohawaii I had only been looking at Maui because finding an east-end Molokai, that isn't a major renovation, is near impossible. That Kihei would have been a major compromise for me. Speaking of major renovation, you should have seen what that Kihei placed looked like before it was renovated...one monsta hamajang.
I love Maui and we stay in North Kihei every time I come🤙🏾🌺🌴
I worked security for the triangle(Kalama Village) back in the day, never again. Too many people go there just to be stupid. During the day its nice though.

Lotsa room on all sides huh? Not against it, just prefer the proximity to amenities and immediate social opportunities for the kids.
@@movingtohawaii I beg to differ! People in your business. They can hear 👂 everything, and when we have birthday parties, graduation parties etc… nobody calls the cops. The crime! Don’t even let me start. We look out for each other, and keep an eye 👁 out, and watch each other’s homes. Over population no thank you 😊
