This is exactly what happened with my cat.. we are from mumbai residing in high rise n this silly bugger was on the parapet n getting restless.. it was night time n we called the fire dept to rescue her.. the moment she was rescued the entire building people started clapping.. she became famous overnight 😅
Same thing happened to my cat ,i called the fire department they reacted so rudely and said "we are not sitting to rescue your cat". I was disheartened but local NGO (SFA) Bhubaneswar helped me.☺
The resources are stretched too thin. Nobody wants to be rude. The incentive to cater to rescuing a kitten seems wasteful to them. Perhaps when they have more resource and rest they may act better.

When was the last time fire fighters were eulogised by locals and school and society at large. I am sure Mumbai went on an image makeover and invested well. Looks like my precious cat who slipped out the window to the roof. Luckily there was a telephone line repairman nearby, so I asked him to rescue her. Didn't like the way he grabbed her by the scruff of her neck & brought her down the ladder, but glad he rescued her 🐱💛.

I think most of us Westerners presume everybody in the east is thick-when everything advanced was alive in India thousands and thousands of years ago and even in ancient times their GDP was so high whilst ours was nonexistent! They had the basket which was a very mature thing so that the cat unpredictable as all animals and humans might jumped mid-rescue or scratched a stranger thus putting both of them at risk. Apologies as a Westerner to these amazing firemen on behalf of all condescending small-minded foreigners and those who think they have to follow being Western to be admired-such a pity! Mumbai's fire force is very good I have seen them rescuing birds and animals more than a fire situation
