We are Linnea and Akela. In May, 2020 I purchased our 2016 Ram ProMaster, Togo, to become our full-time home. With this van build, I am using my stubbornness and drive to show individuals that they, too, can convert a campervan BY THEMSELVES and ON A BUDGET, with a lot of learning, rolling up the sleeves, and getting to work.
Our goal is to inspire individuals to chase their dreams... to break from societal limitations and live the life they truly desire. And, to GET OUTSIDE!

I am 61 years old and about to start a similar van journey. I was hoping your vid would have addressed why you were so down, but whatever the reason I just wanted to encourage you. Your attitude and spirit embody what this lifestyle is all about, at least from my perspective. You draw energy from nature and seem to have expanded as your journey has progressed. Keep following your heart. BTW the soup looked wonderful.

I have been so close to tears while watching this ep. when you jumped in the water, that pushed my tears over the edge. It looks like you really needed that! Thank you for feeling safe enough with us to be real. TW: I lost my mom last yr to suicide and I am no longer numb, so my emotions have been really strong the past few weeks. Her BDay I may 7th. Mother’s Day is coming up and the 4th is the anniversary of my father-in-law’s suicide.
Anyone reading this, you are LOVED! People would be devastated if you were to leave. Your pain does not end, you just push it onto other people. ❤️❤️❤️

Plant those green onions, put the bottom inch with the roots in a glass of water. You'll always have some ready.

yup, I thought the same thing, leave at least an inch of the stalk by the roots, stick those in water and they grow back. Its best to put them in soil soon, but even if you don't you will still have green onions, they don't stop growing! ;)

Too many depressives concentrate on the memory(ies) of the last time they were depressed .WHILE THEY ARE CURRENTLY IN A DEPRESSED STATE. Try this for size: thinking about the other side. The ridiculous , effortless, euphoric moments. Despite four suicide attempts, I have used my own advice several times. It has helped me surf those weeks of deep, unbreakable , depression. So the next time it hits you FORCE YOURSELF to look at not the life you think you live, but the life you actually live. ( I think I'll end this waffling sermon). N.b. Thank YOU. Your taste in music is stunning.

I'm so happy for you! and that you are back into a good headspace. When I am low i acknowledge that emotion and feeling and explore where its coming from. I try to accept it or not it doesn't matter. But it DOES matter in that moment and to allow yourself to decide when its time to move on. Life would be pretty boring if every day was pretty much the same as the last so when you're down its nature's way of recognizing when you just had a great day. I can tell you lit up after your hike with your best friend. I think you are amazing. Keep going

For me it starts with insomnia, that throws off the entire morning, throws off meals, leads to loss of appetite. No sleep and no food means no movement😢

I became “invested” in the “Max & Lee” channel. Never realized how very emotionally invested I had gotten/bonded really with people I had never met. I cried when they went through tough times and rejoiced in their adventures and love for each other. I felt like an innocent child shattered when they broke up and went their separate ways. It felt like my family had divorced. Then to follow Lee’s struggle with depression and it was difficult, as I felt powerless to help. I cheered her on from the sidelines, as I did Max in his new life. ......and now that she lost her struggle with depression, my heart was shattered. I felt as though I had lost a dear friend, even again, if I had never met her. The internet “connects us” in deeper ways than I could ever have imagined. Life is a gift. Across all of time, every choice of every ancestor, every event around them, etc. has led to this moment in time, where we exist now. Yes, there are sad times, times of emptiness. We seek the joy, like a bee going from flower to flower seeking pollen. Our balance must be found within us. Am so glad you are getting your ticket to travel. These are difficult times. Thanks for sharing the good and sad of your life. You are a brave soul. But, please take the “me” time you need. We would rather wait than know that this whole UA-cam thing caused you to feel pressured to be productive when you don’t feel up to it.
Please do not struggle alone......do seek out those who love and support you, as you did before. In some mysterious way, your followers love you too. We want you to succeed and be happy, but we honor the bumpy times too. Please, please, please though, if you are having depression regularly, do seek a counselor. We care! “Speakupforlee”. xoxo Virtual hugs are sent your way. Feel free to delete this once you have read it. It is not a lecture, it comes from a good place. As a veteran, I worry when anyone shows signs of depression. I started following your video when the picture of you and your Shepherd arose. I am an ex-military Canine Careerfield person. But, I continued watching because I admired your free spirit at such a young age. Had I known of van life in my younger years I would have done what you are doing. As is, I will be traveling in the future that way, mostly to go to dog shows and competitions. I am so over hotel rooms.
Bottom line, the down times do happen to us all. What we choose to do with those times affects our own lives, but also affects a vast amount of people around you. So many even whom you do not know out here in the world who care. Sending unconditional love and healing light to you and your dog. Be well.....always choose life!!!
Go to the North of Iceland and the highlands if possible. I've been there four times. Absolutely amazing!
We all experience times of sadness, some more severely than others. I’m so glad you felt you could share this with us, to keep it real. People need to know it’s not always going to fun and games. I’m glad you are finding positive ways to deal with it.

I have just recently stumbled onto your posts, and I am in awe! I have built out two camper vans, but I didn’t have the courage to do the electrical or cut holes in my vans to install windows and fans. A little more courage and I could have saved thousands! I too am in a Promaster 136 wheelbase, and I am really antsy to downsize to a transit connect. If I do, that will definitely be my last build! I love following your travels, Linnea. I am close to 80, and fighting two serious diseases. If I die soon, I want to do it in a van, doing what I love to do. Van life keeps me going!

Loved this girl!!! I'm 67 and disabled, I am looking to get out there and LIVE! Certainly not taking good care of ME I have decided I will eat 2 good nourishing meals a day, drinking Fiji water, gosh it is expensive but tastes good and good for you! I am mostly vegan, so back to juicing etc. I don't like cold water but it sure looks refreshing and a natural bath 🛁 Perfect! Much love from Texas ❤

You got this! Just know that you should never feel ashamed or embarrassed to seek help. Know you have your friends and family to help you and that doggie that loves you so much! You got this take time for you and focus on what matters to you! Whether it’s Creating, Iceland, maybe building s school bus next or volunteering or being an advocate to those that are depressed. OMG! Have a great time in Iceland. It is a beautiful place. We toured the country in 10 days, but i could have stayed for months.Every corner you turn is an even more beautiful vista. How long are you going for? I hope you are there long enough to go around the whole island. There is plenty to see in the Golden circle, but the true beauty is in the more remote parts. I think you, especially, will appreciate the remote areas the most.
Have an amazing time there, and I'm sure it will help you focus on what you need to bring joy to your life. I am already envious of your vanlife, but the thought of going back to Iceland is making me wish I could be there too. If you have time, try to get out to the Westfjords. That whole area is beautiful and has the most amazing waterfall in the whole country (IMO), Dyndjandi. We had a great day driving on the 622 road (anticlockwise around the country) and it brings you out with an amazing vista of Dyndjandi in the distance. OMG! I'm so excited for you. I hope you have time to make plenty of videos for me to watch, but mostly concentrate on enjoying the moment.

Water is the best metaphor for life… cold for the struggles, warm for the good times…. It also always flows, as life always changes, nothing stays the same….

I don’t even know your story or what lead you to this but I could feel your emotion. You have created something beautiful here. A simple life with amazing scenery, a van and your dog. The music is very fitting and your emotions came through. Nature heals. Whatever your troubles, whatever your spiriit, nature is the solution, and a cold dip in a river, with your dog. I recently lost my dog and tuly miss that conversation and interaction when I am out in the woods or doing things around my home. Keep making these real videos.
