The Clydebank of my youth and the Clydebank of my heart. No matter where I live in this world,I will never love anywhere as much as I love Clydebank. ♥️
What a great video. The war time photos were before my time, and some of the more modern ones showed buildings I'm not familiar with, but all the others brought a lump to my throat. That's where I grew up. That's where I'm from. That's part of me, and I'm proud of it. Thank you for posting this. I've subscribed. Best wishes.
Good background music and enough time to look at the images. These days we're all caught up in this strange new world and we rarely have time to look back. Great piece.
Love it I am a child of the fifties, it all looks so familiar. Would love to find picture of Julius Liverani hairdressing shop in Glasgow rd where I trained as a hairdresser, all the best to you Margaret
@@dannysmith222 300 Glasgow Road hmmm ...I think I was meaning Simeones Cafe which was about the corner of Whitecrook St on north side of Dumbarton Rd I DO remember hearing my mother and aunts talking of Liveranis. My aunt modelled for a hairdresser. Pedianis is another name I recall Good luck. I have tried to find out more but no luck
Great video. I remember going up kilbowie road as a wee girl. All up the hill was just rubble and weeds then further on to whin street where my grandpa was killed in the blitz. I never knew him but loved to visit gran at maple drive parkhall. Wonderful memories.
As a 12 yr old used to go into Mary cafe, on the right, and boy was she fly. If you bought a bottle of Irn bru from her cafe, the deposit you got back was 5p. But if you brought back other bottles, which weren't bought from her cafe, the deposit you got was 1p
go to settings and drop the speed down to 0.5 and that will slow the timing down. P.S . I used to live in Gladstone St and worked in Singers factory,I hope this helps X

If you have an idea of which part of Glasgow Road the shop was in, I'll check my collection and see if I have a picture of that area.
@@dannysmith222 Was it maybe at the bottom of Whitecrook St?
@@alanoneill3065 I'll have a closer look at the shops in some old photos I have. Cheers for the heads-up 🤞
