you pretty much are alone whenever you play this game though. its not party and social orientated like it used to be which is really sad. most of the intelligent and interesting players have left to play other things, leaving the obnoxious kids behind.
+Jack Sparrow g18 stands for generation 18. you can think of each generation as an big update to the game usually involving a storyline. because each generation tends to add alot of content or a whole storyline, players tell time by the generations usually referring to which generation it was when they joined
I played this game really long ago but never really discovered much of the story, I was wondering, for the new players, they go through all the generations starting from 1? Or the game kind of lets you to skip them and some are no longer available?
This theme makes me a bit teary, so many years now, ever since i joined back in G3. This melody brings me back to all those memories, more than a game for me it has become what let me meet so many friends, where i met so many people, good and bad, where i created so many memories with them, and of ofc also had a bad share of experiences, but plenty of them were good, and it's bittersweet to think of those i don't see anymore but im glad i got to meet them at all. Im sure many feel the same way and are as amazed how the people in it might haves changed their lives so much, in bad but mostly good ways. No other game has had the same effect on me as mabinogi has. (if only it wasn't in the hands of such a greedy and neglectful company...)
This game brings me back where the game in 2008-2010 was nice. The connection with people and the community was crazy and there were insignificant moments during that time but when you look back, they feel major due to nostalgia. So many friendly, funny, and interesting people and so many new things to experience. I don't know about you guys but the golden moments were during late nights playing this game and talking to others and when discovering the game was still in its purist. Those were the good times and I hope the people who played this felt a similar nostalgia too.
This game is over 10 years old and I still comeback to it, played so many hours on this game back in middle school. Now putting more hours into the game while it's on steam. Absolutely love this game it's old compared to the new mmorpgs out there... But after Mabi none can match the game on the level of which I love Mabi.

Meness Its a fantasy world, but why people are saying that it was a good point in there life was because of the community it had at that time. People could met new people with different backgrounds. Connect with other from across the world in a game that can bring people together. I feel that's why I had a good time back in those days and why people say it like that.
This makes me wish I could go back to the days when I knew nothing about the game. I've gotten every skill I'm ever going to use to Rank 1 (with the exception of Paladin trans; I hate Champion but love Holy Knight), I've completed every generation, and got pretty much every item I could want. The game seems so empty to me now. I try my best to cling to the this game's dying flame with my guild members, and most of all, the first friend I ever made on this game, on the very first day it came out 6 years ago. Many friends have come and gone, few have stayed. I'm grateful for being given the opportunity to meet them, even if on the game, for they've changed my life for the better. It doesn't matter where you meet them, a friend is a friend. I've devoted much of the time I spend on the game now sharing my wisdom and experiences with newcomers and watching them grow very strong as they press forth along their journey. It's heartwarming, but at the end of the day I'm overcome by sorrow. I envy the newcomers. I wish I could experience the game like they do again.
i feel similarly, i recemtly his over 1K cumulitave lvl and i again wish i had that new player feel, when everything seemed so huge, and i had to check the map regularly to figure out where i was and where to go. now i automaticly know that Tara is north of Talitial and west of Tir and north west of dunbarton and all that stuff, ira on the other hand, i occasionally have to check the map, but i dont have that feel that i had when i just started... the one thing i wish they would do, is to bring back the good ol' log in screen, 3d rendered moon gate/mana tunnel. ah, those were the days.
Lol! That's what I get for both, not going to Tara, and having a crappy laptop that will die before I can even clock 30 minutes on the game! Lol time to get that desktop back from dad!

I tried this game first when I was like, 13 or something...I don't know how long it's been around now, but I couldn't figure it out and I quit. I came back several years later(which was last year), and wow was a surprised! It's awesome to play now, and there are tons of senior members willing to help the newbs! Mabinogi is the only MMORPG game I've enjoyed so far, and I've tried several. It is well made, and I absolutely love the music in it... not to mention my awesome guild I'm a part of, the Laziness Guild XD But thank you for uploading this beautiful opening theme!
I used to love Mabinogi to death. I played it almost exclusively. It was a great game. I grew up to learn that Nexon is actually a terrible company with terrible service and a blindly loyal reservoir of players. Mabi will forever be one of those games I can look back to for memories-- those of smiles and laughter, friendship and brotherhood. This song reminds me of that. I just wish that it was hosted by a company who actually cared about its fans and service.
Aquaexnar At the time that I posted this comment, I was using a Google Chromebook. Chromebooks cannot run Windows applications such as Mabinogi. I now have a PC and play Mabi daily. It's great to be back.

I've finished all the generations, but this one just feels special, especially this, it's like an homage to us old players. I love the new Mabinogi but I can't help but feel nostalgic about the old stuff. This is too good.

I played this game roughly around 3-5 years with mates, and it was terrific experience, unlike other mmorpgs I've player or witnessed, this would have to be the closest experience to sword art online (of course without the nerve gear). I remember the days of raiding ciar dungeon with mates all day and when horse pets were released I jumped with excitement! As well as saying goodbye to old friends and greeting the new. But personally what I found sad is that this game has changed drastically bad, paladins have been easy to gain with a click of button. People have been modding the game adding wings and epileptic dyed clothing, as well as adding vehicles and what not. I think its lost its spark of its 'fantasy life' and has turned into a completely different game. From that point..mabinogi died..
Back then (Drama season 1): Feel and remind the G1~G3's untold story. Now: Shit.. It's been 8 years now. The mainstream saga is almost reached to it's end.
With all the fun I've had with friends and the memories the game has... damn it I really want a TRUE Mabinogi 2. A sequel with everything that made the original great, but updated for the times. Not like Vindictus, but the 'Fantasy Life' we all know and love... and with the direction Nexon has been going in lately, I'm not sure if that'll ever come.

I started playing Mabinogi since G4 and when I lost my account detail a while back I wont lie I got excited about starting a new account. Everything was too easy on my main account.
i just wish the old clasic one was here. you know, the one with moon gate/mana tunnel that is activley rendered with the awesome clasic bgm... #Nostalgia

This. This right here, ladies and gentlemen. I played Mabinogi for four years, fully realizing how true this is, but stayed for my friends. The game has so much potential, and bonds you forge in it feel so real it's almost like you're inside the game. If only Nexon was better, this game could easily be the best MMO out there.
it's a damn shame that the game has become so stagnant and nearly empty now; you only really see people standing around areas like Dunbarton or Belvast, either with a shop open or they're just AFK for an event. you never see groups of players running around anymore. you only see a person walking around, and rarely a group of players. even then, they're just online to check something and then hop offline. i miss the times where my old guild would hang out in Skype calls while playing this game; we wouldn't get to sleep till around 7 AM, working really hard to get that one weapon we wanted or finish a generation to get the transformations. whenever a new event came out, we would quickly look it up and see what prizes were available as well as what the gachapons were at the time. i truly miss those times; there's nothing to do in the game now. the majority of us (that are somewhat active on the game) are now grandmasters in several talents, we have the items we've always wanted, and the dungeons just feel too easy and boring now. (we don't dare try Phantasm again. we got fucked in Mirrored.) we've since cut ties with some people from the guild due to drama and problems, but i still miss hanging with them on the game. a part of me wishes that Nexon would go back to how the game was back then, with hundreds of players walking around, hanging fun and doing quests and events. but i know they won't...
That's the whole issues with every online RPG nowadays. As much as I miss the old time.. I hate to admit but most of the games in Nexon are pretty much lost with their way but keep milking our moneys to extend the game service. Even now.. some are focusing on only mobile game trend. While the new games are keep shutting down in every 2~6 years. For Mabi's case, too much high level contents with lack of users. Newcomers don't stand a chance :(
I remember the first time I made a golem crystal. I was young, just before entering my teens or so irl. I had finally gathered all the raw materials and learned the skill and when I pulled that golem crystal out I threw my hands up irl as my character did so in game. Got yelled at for being too loud. I am very prone to getting sucked into media, be it games or books, but I can’t recall anything that had ever gotten that much of raw pride out of me. It felt like I had taken my first step towards proving to myself that I could master what was the most difficult system in the game, in the world, at that time. I remember when I finished grinding out the last page for the first level of shock too. People called me insane for just grinding it but heck, I was never good with saving so screw buying it. It was another moment of pride. Genuine pride. I can’t say any other game has given me that sense, and that’s why I looked at mabinogi as the only game that could really be called a fantasy life sim. That’s also why I knew that it was going to start declining once they overhauled alchemy to only using the four basic elemental stones. I miss those days, when I could help others experience those same feelings of victory, or of discovery. Nowadays I feel that you only see flashes of that in things like learning your first spells, and even then if you start as a mage you’ll have robbed yourself of that experience. I miss helping others to learn to trust others and develop friendships as we went on adventures to face things like glas ghablon, And above all I miss sitting around the campfire, sharing a 5 star hand cooked meal as I shared stories with people who went from strangers to friends the instant they sat down to chat.

Mabinogi is the only MMORPG game I've enjoyed so far, and I've tried several. It is well made, and I absolutely love the music in it... not to mention my awesome guild I'm a part of, the Laziness Guild XD

This and Runescape are my child hood games it brings friends all over the world together even if you didn't know them in real life you felt close to them....
I'm not a tattoo person. But I'm getting the Celtic knot on my shoulder. 9 years into this game and I'll never regret that memory

I started playing Mabinogi since G4 and when I lost my account detail a while back I wont lie I got excited about starting a new account. Everything was too easy on my main account.
i just wish the old clasic one was here. you know, the one with moon gate/mana tunnel that is activley rendered with the awesome clasic bgm...

I love mabinogi so much but whenever I listen to this song it reminds me off another song I can't think of...
But other than that I love this song and could listen to it for hours!!
This. This right here, ladies and gentlemen. I played Mabinogi for four years, fully realizing how true this is, but stayed for my friends. The game has so much potential, and bonds you forge in it feel so real it's almost like you're inside the game. If only Nexon was better, this game could easily be the best MMO out there.
it's a damn shame that the game has become so stagnant and nearly empty now; you only really see people standing around areas like Dunbarton or Belvast, either with a shop open or they're just AFK for an event.
you never see groups of players running around anymore. you only see a person walking around, and rarely a group of players. even then, they're just online to check something and then hop offline.
i miss the times where my old guild would hang out in Skype calls while playing this game; we wouldn't get to sleep till around 7 AM, working really hard to get that one weapon we wanted or finish a generation to get the transformations. whenever a new event came out, we would quickly look it up and see what prizes were available as well as what the gachapons were at the time.
i truly miss those times; there's nothing to do in the game now. the majority of us (that are somewhat active on the game) are now grandmasters in several talents, we have the items we've always wanted, and the dungeons just feel too easy and boring now. (we don't dare try Phantasm again. we got fucked in Mirrored.) we've since cut ties with some people from the guild due to drama and problems, but i still miss hanging with them on the game.
a part of me wishes that Nexon would go back to how the game was back then, with hundreds of players walking around, hanging fun and doing quests and events. but i know they won't...
That's the whole issues with every online RPG nowadays. As much as I miss the old time.. I hate to admit but most of the games in Nexon are pretty much lost with their way but keep milking our moneys to extend the game service.
Even now.. some are focusing on only mobile game trend. While the new games are keep shutting down in every 2~6 years.
For Mabi's case, too much high level contents with lack of users. Newcomers don't stand a chance :(

I remember the first time I made a golem crystal. I was young, just before entering my teens or so irl.
I had finally gathered all the raw materials and learned the skill and when I pulled that golem crystal out I threw my hands up irl as my character did so in game.
Got yelled at for being too loud.
I am very prone to getting sucked into media, be it games or books, but I can’t recall anything that had ever gotten that much of raw pride out of me. It felt like I had taken my first step towards proving to myself that I could master what was the most difficult system in the game, in the world, at that time.
I remember when I finished grinding out the last page for the first level of shock too. People called me insane for just grinding it but heck, I was never good with saving so screw buying it. It was another moment of pride. Genuine pride.
I can’t say any other game has given me that sense, and that’s why I looked at mabinogi as the only game that could really be called a fantasy life sim.
That’s also why I knew that it was going to start declining once they overhauled alchemy to only using the four basic elemental stones.
I miss those days, when I could help others experience those same feelings of victory, or of discovery. Nowadays I feel that you only see flashes of that in things like learning your first spells, and even then if you start as a mage you’ll have robbed yourself of that experience.
I miss helping others to learn to trust others and develop friendships as we went on adventures to face things like glas ghablon,
And above all I miss sitting around the campfire, sharing a 5 star hand cooked meal as I shared stories with people who went from strangers to friends the instant they sat down to chat.
